Brake the mould!!

Advantages: A nice mix of songs for any mood and great to sing to in the car/shower!
Disadvantages: An album that I found difficult to get in to... despite being a Turin Brakes fan.

...I bought this album along with their first album, The Optimist, a few months ago. I already had their second album, Ether Song, so I was very exited to have another two cd's at once! At first I preferred The Optimist over Jackinabox as it was more instantly likeable but three months down the line this is definitely the best album they have produced?. Here's why?. Turin Brakes consist of Olly Knights, lead vocals and guitar and Gale Paridjanian, guitar and vocals. They are guitar based indie type music something akin to Coldplay but Olly Knights having a voice like Jeff Bukley. They are different to Coldplay in that they have a more folk sound which makes it sound a bit more timeless. Zippo Lighter Fluid - very long lasting!

Advantages: Good Looking, Long Lasting, Works Well.
Disadvantages: A tad more expensive than other brands.

...I decided for the first time last christmas to buy actual Zippo Lighter Fluid, rather than the generic yellow brand you can also get in most shops. I bought my other half a Zippo lighter and got offered a cheaper deal if I bought some flints and lighter fluid of the same brand so I did. It seemed to last a lot longer in the lighter than the other brand I've used in the past, as well as looking better on your shelf in my opinion. It was still going up until 2 months ago, meaning it lasted two heavy smokers eight months. In the past with other lighter fluids, they havn't lasted even half as long. It was a good deal, lasted well, worked well and looks good. I would definately recommend it over other brands and will use it from now on....

Olay Active Beauty Fluid is a must buy

Advantages: It is light, non-greasy and quick absorbant. Its low price and more quantity makes it affordable.
Disadvantages: Packaging is not much attractive and it should have a flip-top cap.

Nivea Visage Oil-Free Moisturising Fluid

Advantages: Smells nice, good value, doesn't sting the skin, protects from UVA/UVB
Disadvantages: Provides a bad base for make-up, doesn't absorb well

...I always spend ages choosing moisturisers, reading the back of boxes to find the ideal product for me. I have skin that requires moisturising, but I'm also prone to blocked pores. In addition to that, I like to have a matte complexion and daily protection from the sun. I'm also on a tight budget and stick to reasonably priced brands. As a result, trying to a moisturiser with all of the desired qualities can be time-consuming! I found Nivea Visage Oil-Free Moisturising Fluid in my local branch of Boots. It cost a reasonable £3.72 for 100ml. I felt this was good value for money as even a 100ml bottle or pot of moisturiser usually lasts me at least 6 months if not longer. I don't let packaging influence my decision when buying toiletries or cosmetics, but the lotion is presented nicely in a white bottle with a slightly translucent...

Fluid Rower No Slip and No Slack for this indoor water rower

I spend most of my life training in the gym, which up until now has been dominated by the Concept 2 indoor rower, that is until now !!!! Avid Sintered brake pads (Gold)

Advantages: Last for ages and easy to fit
Disadvantages: None

...I've used the Avid BB7 mechanical for over three years now & have been satisfied using these sintered (Gold) pads. The setup was both the stock 160mm rotor & 185mm rotor. Even in pouring rain the 160mm plus these Avid pads stop the bike with great modulation. Now I have one installed for the front for my XC bike which stops like a dream. Occasionally dirt and oil may require you to clean them by either soaking the pads in alcohol & sanding a thin layer. In either case, the pads last a long time and the break-in period is fast! (Just pour water on the rotor, go down the hill and brake hard couple times) These brake pads can vary from dealer to dealer but mainly the retail for around £15, there are various online stores that they can pe purchased from including "Evanscycles.com" and "chainreactioncycles.com"...

Happy as long as they don't BRAKE up

...I first heard of this band a few years ago when they released 'Underdog - save me'. The guitar solo grabbed me and the unique voice left me wanting to hear the song over and over again. Catching it on radio one I managed to hear the name Turin Brakes. This band come from the London area and are comprised of 2 people. The lead singer, who also plays guitar and another guy who also plays guitar and does backing vocals. I got hold of their first album, called "The Optimist". Turin Brakes in concert

Advantages: Great Music, Great Band

...A few months ago Turin Brakes came to perform in Birmingham at the Academy and I went along to see them. The Academy is quite a small venue, so the perfomances there can feel really personal. I already really liked the bands last album (The Optimist) and the day after the concert their new album was launched. Therefore the band played alot of old an new stuff. Music wise i really loved it, they played all my favourites from the Optimist and the new songs were even better. However, the reason why I wanted to write a review on this concert was not mainly because their music and songs were brilliant (which they were).
