VERY SPECIAL OLD PALE? yes special indeed!
Review of Remy Martin Cognac, V.S.O.P. by kenny_khaw

Advantages: reasonably priced, aromatic
Disadvantages: might be too sweet for some

Remy was established 1724. At the moment, Remy now still owns, Cointreau, Krug Champagne and Charles and Piper-Heidsieck.Guided tours of the vineyards and distillery of the hospitable house are available throughout the year. The ticket price is quite reasonable, for more info please go to www.remy.com Below are the comments which I have tasted before. Try using a cognac snifter. About the range: Remy only uses two of the best grape regions, from ...

Treat yourself for Xmas. Hennessy eXtraOrdinaire
Review of Hennessy XO by FrenchCancan

Advantages: Quality product, enjoyment
Disadvantages: Price, strong alcohol, patience

...Century a young irishman, Richard Hennessy came to the French south-west shores after fighting for the French. It is said that he fell in love with the area and decided to develop his own business by selling the local spirit back 'home' in Ireland. The success was almost immediate and the company has gone from strength to strength ever since. Hennessy is now part of the luxury French conglomerate LVMH - Louis Vuitton, Moet, Hennessy. The current ...
...for hundreds of years. Hennessy XO - Extra Old - is a 50 year old Cognac which is presented in an attractive pear shapped bottle. The Cognac inside is a mix of the Cognac 'crus' which have been carefully selected and blended by the Maitre de Chais, a function that is usually handed down from father to son. Since Cognac is very much dependant on the local climate this function is widely regarded as being one of the most important. Each 'cru' wil ... Read review

Courvoisier not for the connoisseur
Review of Courvoisier Cognac, V.S. by m_kingdom

Advantages: Relatively smooth finish
Disadvantages: Obviously not as good as an XO cognac

...already hold this information. Courvoisier is a big name in cognac, churning out millions of gallons of the amber nectar each year. Brandy is unaged distilled wine, armagnac is brandy that has been aged for under three years, cognac brandy that has been aged for well over the aforementioned period. The aging process adds extra flavours, roundness, and pleasure to the drinking experience. The degrees of age for cognac, starting with the youngest ...
...will give a pleasant finish, Courvoisier is only marginally differnt compared to any other similar cognacs. The difference is much more apparent in the higher end bottles generally those well in excess of £100. If at home, try and serve cognac in a very large balloon glass as this allows a large surface area to come into contact with the warmth from one's hands, bringing out the flavour of the cognac. If available use a small spirit burner to very ... Read review

Sainsbury's French Brandy .. Goodish stuff
Review of Sainsbury's French Brandy by Leadenwinter

Advantages: Coffee..
Disadvantages: Not so good on its own..

It tastes like what cheap brandy should although maybe somewhat more oakey than others and is good for desserts, drinks and particularly in your breakfast coffee. It seems to be pretty much exactly the same as the Waitrose product. Unlike some brandies it does in fact flambé on a warm pudding which is quite amusing as a party trick. I bought this as an alternative to a bottle of Soberano, which I got from Spain, primarily as an additive to my coffee ... Read review

I drink it because I'm sophisticated, honest
Review of Three Barrels Brandy, V.S.O.P. by pdoyle007

Advantages: Nice taste, mixes well
Disadvantages: bottle empties too quick

While at University the motto was 'If it's wet I'll drink it'. While admirable this motto wasn't the cleverest and got me into more than a little trouble. Since finishing those carefree and blurry days and starting the a full time job I have found my capacity for drink, as well as my free time for drink, has diminished. It used to be a few pints of lager on a friday night, maybe a few in the week, and that was it. Sadly combine this with a desk ...
...trousers a size bigger. For anyone who has noticed the pattern in my previous reviews (and if not why not) exercise and health concious Pete has emerged from the ashes. I'm not so health concious that I won't drink, just will be a little crafty about it. After 600 words and no mention of the product yet you might be a little bored, but I promise I'm getting to the point. As well as cutting down on takeaways and hitting the gym regularly I decided ...
