THE BIG BREAKFAST- WHERE LIFE STARTS AT 7
Review of Channel 4 - The Big Breakfast by
georgiegirl001
Advantages: Great comedy
Disadvantages: not everyones cup of tea
...The big breakfast, is hilarious now theyve got rid of Lisa Tarbuck and put OLD denise back on her thrown!!! her and johney Vorn make a great tv couple. when denise left the ratings dropped as boring lisa just laughed at everything johney said and hardly had a joke herself. The two combined are GREAT they are really funny and are prepared to have a laugh. i watch it from 7 until 9 every morning and it really wakes me up and sets me in a good temper for the day. even if you dont like the sound of it try it and log onto channel 4 at 7!!!!!...

Only place to get breakfast in Toronto
Review of Sunset Grill, Toronto by
Plummars
Advantages: Tasty, cheap, helpful staff
Disadvantages: Tables are too small to hold all the food ;-)
...and the result is a bright airy space with wooden chairs and tables evenly spaced out around the restaurant. The result is a cosy, yet spacious breakfast setting. The staff are to be commended in helping to generate this impression as we didn't meet any rude staff, they were all prompt in offering us refills of coffee and we were always welcomed with smile. What a difference such a small thing like that can make!
Although the menu is small, the restaurant does state that it is an all-day breakfast restaurant, and the menu covers all breakfast items. Fresh fruit, french toast, bagels, sausages and ham, pancakes, waffles, all of these are on the menu and can be ordered any way you want. The food is all freshly made and you always receive a HUGE portion! The taste of the food, mmmmmmm, all delicious! I've had the french toast, the bagels, the fruit...

A good way to start the day
Review of Channel 4 - The Big Breakfast by
Venus62
Advantages:
Disadvantages: Makes you late for work hehe
...I watch the Big Breakfast most mornings, well its on in the background while I get ready for work. It's a lighthearted programme and not too much of the "Bad news" going on in the world to depres you. Theres enough of that on other channels and in the newspapers!
Johnny Vaughn is very quick to make funny comments about all kinds of things. Liza Tarbuck is also very good, but not for long as she leaves today.
The programme is set in a Big house, and with the crew all on view, it gives the impression that they are a big family all in the house. They have a lot of wacky guests, who most of I am sure are just invited to be laughed at, but thats what makes it different.
Its quite fast moving, not stopping too long on each subject, or guest.
All in all I think its a young programme, and a good way to start the day....

Fantastic Location and Service.
Review of Windy Harbour Farm Hotel, Glossop by
burnsey236
Advantages: Staff were extremely friendly and accomodating.
Disadvantages: None
...I attended a Wedding Breakfast and Wedding Reception here on a Saturday and thought it was fantastic.
The location was amazing with fantastic views - although very windy and bitterly cold at the beginning of February.
The room was set up beautifully for the wedding breakfast and toasts.
The food was out of this world and you could tell that it was home made. We had Winter Veg Soup to start, Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pudding, Seasonal Veg and Gravy then a Cherry and Ameretto Tart with Ice Cream for desert. The staff were marvellous and very accomodating. My father doesn't eat many vegetables and asked for just peas on his plate which the did, but they also gave him an extra Yorkshire Pudding. They also provided Cheese and Biscuits instead of the standard desert as he is diabetic.
I would definitely recommend this location for any...

Inverness stay at Maple Court Hotel
Review of Maple Court Hotel, Inverness by
t_sangy
Advantages: good view and food
Disadvantages: none
...We stayed at the Maple Court for two nights at the end of October
The location was fantastic - a nice 5-10 minute walk from downtown Inverness, along the river Ness. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance
The room is large, and very clean. The furnishings are a bit cheap, and the bed is just okay. Sheets and towels were clean and average. The bathroom was very clean.
The staff were great, and the morning breakfast was great. The chef will make you whatever you\'d like for breakfast.
The food was wonderful with brilliant portions. Everything was fresh and prepared beautifully. The bacon and egg scrambles and salmon crepes were terrific.
Gardens and river setting is just out of this world.
I would stay there again....

If you can't stand the Wheat
Review of Nestle Shredded Wheat by
Borg
Advantages: Well its healthy
Disadvantages: It tastes like paper
..., when I was a child, laying on the grass, looking up at the sky, chewing a try piece of grass. That is what my initial thoughts are: This tastes like dried grass, or hay.
I grin and chew on, thinking that at least it will fill me up and by the end of the bowl I am thinking they were not too bad, but I would not eat them often.
They are in my mind an amicable last resort breakfast.
Made by Nestle these days, Shredded Wheat was invented 1892 by Henry Perky. In December 1928 the Shredded Wheat Company was sold to The National Biscuit Company, and soon became National Biscuit Shredded Wheat.
Main ingredients are obviously Wheat and a box will set you back about one pounds fifty (but this depends on where you shop.) Well, the ONLY ingredients are wheat – 100% Whole Wheat, actually.
I wish I could say that after my Shredded Wheat, I...

bacon and eggs for me
Review of The Breakfast Club DVD by
LucyBell
Advantages: good non demanding comedy
Disadvantages: moments of naffness
...When I first watched the breakfast club as a teenager way back in the 80’s it was for one reason only - drool appeal. So I was interested to see this film again and see if it was as awful as I thought it would be. I was pleased to find that not only did it bring back wonderful memories of the decade that taste forgot but that it was actually a thoughtful and appealing movie.
The 80’s were known for its teen comedies and the director of The Breakfast Club, John Hughes was instrumental to many of them (Weird Science, Pretty in Pink, Some Kind of Wonderful, Ferris Bueller's Day Off). However unlike the sex and booze-drenched antics of most teen comedies of the era The Breakfast Club is very dialogue-driven.
The Breakfast Club is a small group of high school students who have to spend their Saturday in detention...

Where's my burger gone, where's my burger gone.
Review of McDonald´s by
Manofmanywords
Advantages: To save people the time of asking for a burger before 10.30am
Disadvantages: May disappoint a few people, especially people who like burgers
...Yesterday morning, having overslept, I had to dash off to catch my bus for work without having any breakfast. Never mind I thought to myself, I'll grab a burger from Macdonalds once in the town centre.
While on the bus, with my stomach rumbling (I'm not a guy who can go without food first thing in the morning) I decided that I fancied a double cheeseburger with some fries. Having got myself in the right mind set to munch this food, I walked into Macdonalds, ha, no queue, that's a bonus.
"Good morning sir, can I take your order please?" said the lady. "Yes, I'll have a double cheeseburger and small fries please", I replied. I was amazed when the lady told me that Macdonalds don't do burgers until 10.30am and that I can only select from the breakfast menu (which isn't a great deal). "But I don't want anything from your breakfast...

Pancakes At Any Hour Of The Day
Review of International House Of Pancakes, Kissimmee by
sprinkledoughnut
Advantages: Good food, freshly cooked, reasonably priced
Disadvantages: Popular, therefore getting busier each year
...If you are going to eat pancakes in Florida, this is the place to go.
I must admit we go out every year, and I personally have tended to stick to what I enjoyed most for breakfast, which is their Breakfast Sampler. This consists of 2 eggs (anyway you want them e.g. scramble, fried etc), 2 bacon strips, 2 pork sausage links, 2 ham strips, hash browns and two buttermilk pancakes.
A good breakfast similar to this will set you up for the rest of the day, until your evening meal. It will save you money by having a good breakfast, and not paying the price of lunch in one of the theme parks.
Most of the IHOP's on Hwy 192 Kissimmee are all open 24 hours now, they should all state their opening times on the big billboards outside.
It isn't just breakfast meals that they serve, they do your usual burger meals, steaks, chicken dishes...

How to satisfy you man in a morning
Review of Everything that starts with B ... by
misslook
Advantages: Lot and lots
Disadvantages: nope - none from me
...Breakfast - how do you eat yours -hehe
I am sure that everyone knows that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. After sleeping for a long period of time your body needs an energy boost to set you up to face the day ahead. Breakfast got it’s name because it is a “break in fast” - while you are asleep, you are fasting (as such) then when you wake up, you break the fasting and eat. I know that I may not of explained that very well. It is something that I learnt in school, hope that I got it right as I never did pay enough attention.
I am not really a big fan of breakfast. I usually eat at around 10.00am, when the kids are up, dressed and have eaten their breakfast and are then happily watching children’s programmes or playing with their toys. My kids eat breakfast at 8.00am everyday, depending...
