The shopping centre is managed in two parts, the first being the Centre MK and the second a place named Midsummer Place. ...Nottingham has two large shopping centres, the Broadmarsh Centre and the Victoria Centre, situated at opposite ends of the city centre .The Victoria Centre is the bigger of the two, containing 120 shops (not counting all the various stalls in the market area.) Getting there is easy - if you drive, there's parking for over 2700 cars . If you don't drive, don't worry - almost all the Nottingham City Transport buses stop either directly outside the Victoria Centre, or within a few minutes walk of it . Job Centre fiasco

Disadvantages: Too many to mention

...Very briefly as the wife of a man who was made redundant the thought of the Job Centre plus being helpful no longer exists. As a mortgage holder and family with two school age children my husband was only entitled to Job Seeks Allowance (JSA). This was paid for 26 weeks and then after still not successful in securing employment, this was stopped. Because I work more than 20 hours a week (I am still only part time) I am expected to support the family and bills. My husband has never been asked how much I earn. This assessment is merely done of the hours I work and not the take home pay coming into the home. Having never claimed any benefits at all before this (but we are in a recession as you all know) we enquired about training and extra help, but, alas, there was no entitlement apparently. Advantages: By signing on every 2 weeks you get some money.
Disadvantages: The staff are not very well trained.

The Jorvik Centre (pronounced Yorvic), is a real acheaology site, where the Vikings of York lived thousands of years ago. ...I received a leaflet from this company - the Student Support Centre - in 2006. As a parent with a child of 7 I was very interested. I felt help with Maths and English would probably benefit him. This is despite the fact that he was doing pretty well already. I telephoned the company and arranged a vist from on of their salesmen. The cost of the tution was not mentioned in the leaflet nor during the conversation by phone. When the salesman came I discovered he was a local man, a family man, He had beena teacher or lecturer who had dropped out of teaching because he thought there was a better way of educating children. Disadvantages: A little dated after over 20 years

...The metro centre is a very large out of town shopping centre, and was one of the first out of town shopping centres in the UK. It is all indoors, with individual shops accessed from galleried walkways. It is quite complicated to navigate due to the size, but there are maps on every corner. Since then the site has expanded and there are now many separate shops such as IKEA, ILVA, ASDA, furniture shops, Pizza Hut, etc. These are all located outside the main metro centre complex, there is a shuttle bus between the different stores, as once outside the main metro centre you are faced with a fairly baffling car-led road system.
