The Deer Hunter DVD Review
Advantages: Performances.
Disadvantages: Requires your undivided attention.
...Perhaps the main reason The Deer Hunter connects with me so much, emotionally, each time I watch it is because it's not really what I would call a "War Film".
Opening in the late 1960s, in a small working-class town of Pennsylvania, it tracks three Russian-American steel workers, Michael (Robert De Niro), Steven (John Savage), and Nick (Christopher Walken). The lives of these characters occupy the screen for a large majority of the movie: we see them drinking and singing along to the jukebox at their local bar, dancing at their friends' wedding, and going on hunting trips into the mountains.
The reason the film chooses to focus upon these hard-working people is to show the importance of human bonding; how one chooses to celebrate his life by surrounding himself with friends and family. The Deer Hunter never attempts to make its...

Monster Hunter Freedom
Advantages: Great Graphics! You kill monsters!
Disadvantages: Quite Expensive For A Fairly Old Game
...{PRICE}
Monster Hunter Freedom is a playstation portable game, which can be bought at an english store such as Woolworths, GAME, HMV etc. for a price of £35 or £30 online. Which is an exaggeration to its true value, as it was released in May 2006, I think that by now, the price should have been reduced somewhat. Even though it had a steep price tag for a fairly old game, I decided to buy it after being recommended it by a friend, and would certainly recommend it to others.
NB: You can probably find this game a lot cheaper on ebay or amazon. Now that I look on amazon, I see you can get it for as little as £20, but their amazon price is £30.
{PACKAGING}
As per usual the game came sealed in transparent plastic. On the back of the box, there is the region code, which for mine is universal 2, which means it is playable...

Hunters of the Dusk
Advantages: Compelling, action and excitement on every page
Disadvantages: Quite short
...Hunters of the Dusk is written by Darren Shan, an author widely believed to be the best children's horror writer ever, and one of the best writers for children in any category around at the moment.
The book is part of a series called The Darren Shan saga, in which a teenage boy has his life changed forever when after attending an illegal freak show, he steals an amazing spider, which belongs to a real-life vampire, Mr. Crepsley. When his friend gets bitten by this spider, he is forced to trade the rest of his life so that his friend can continue his, when he agrees to fake his own death, flee from his family and become a half-vampire in order to get the cure for the bite for his friend.
This book, which is the 7th book in the saga, is excellent for a mid-series book, where it is often hard to keep readers engaged. Darren Shan, who has...

Hunter Valley - Wine Tours
Advantages: Got to taste loads of different wines and learn about them
Disadvantages: Not much else to do other than wine tasting
...Hunter Valley has wonderful scenery and is home to a large wine and coaling industries. To the south it stretches from Goulburn River and Wollemi National Park and right up to Barrington Tops National Park to the North. Lower Hunter is where most of the vineyards can be found but Upper Hunter also has vineyards as well as horse breeding and racing. During the year there are festivals and it is a great place for music from folk, jazz and even opera. In the Hunter there are several galleries and museums to see.
You can get various tours to Hunter Valley from Sydney or you could hire a car and drive to it yourself. It might be hard to find places however if you drove I would imagine. We chose to take a guided tour, it cost us $95 and included a stop off at the Australian Reptile Park as well which I thought was great value for money...

Monster Hunter - Absolutley Amazing
Advantages: Very good graphics, addictive, good use of controller, realistic camera
Disadvantages: No online play anymore
...The first time i heard about this game was in a PS2 magazine and once i had read the article i couldnt wait until it came out. I always kept an eye out for it. Then when it finally did come out i made sure i bought it there and then.
The first thing you need to know it that this is an adventure game, where player create a hunter (character) that will go hunting monsters for whatever reason, wether its for food, for materials to make better equipment or purley for the thrill of the hunt.
This is a decently long game on 1 player mode as there are lots of quests to complete, you will start of fwith the simple gathering quests and go onto hunting quests, where you will hunt things ranging from small 'kelbi' (like deer) to huge wyverns (liek dragons but not as big).
Now in my opinion this is one of the best games ever made! I absolutely...

Climate Of Hunter - Scott Walker
Advantages: stunningly arranged and sung, mysterious songs
Disadvantages: none
...Climate Of Hunter is one of those albums that needs to played in its entirety. That's not much of a problem seeing as how it's only fractionally over half an hour long.
"Rawhide" begins with distant cowbells and then it all kicks off with that utterly brilliant "This is how you disappear" opening line. What a delivery!! To be honest if the rest of the album was complete tripe I'd still love it just for that stunning opening. Quite why Scott chose to write a song about Cro-Magnon people and their herds is something that only Scott could ever explain, but the images of proto-men, buffalo, vast wide open plains come thick and fast. Brilliant track.
I won't go through each song in detail - the superlatives would get very repetitive. Suffice to say that "Dealer" is really rather eerie in places, but is also incredibly lovely, "Track...

Monster Hunter 1 - PSP
Advantages: link up play with friends
Disadvantages: slow start up (money and equip wise)
...together. The scenes of the Bigger monsters and bosses are enough to make you wonder if your equips is good enough to slay this big demon in front of you. Normally the case is you can, and you will be rewarded heavily for your effort!
Music:
Music wise, the game features an assortment of tracks to accompany your gameplay.
Extra:
This game is best played with linked up psp or connected to online. Quests with the other hunters together to gain power and strength by slaying the Big Bosses that guard the chambers and caves that hold incredible rare treasures! There isn't anything else that beats the feeling of completing a quest with friends and then sharing out the prize at the end.
Summary:
A must buy game. With the New Monster hunter out as well now, theres even more reason to purchase this one as a starter with the reduced prices you...

Dud Hunter
Advantages: None to speak of
Disadvantages: Plenty
...A while back I had a really bad run of buying games out of the bargain bin at my local shop. You would think the penny would have dropped but sadly it did not even after purchasing Spy Hunter which is really only good for stuffing on the 26th December as it is a real turkey.
In this game you take the role of Alec Sects a secret agent in a constant battle against an evil organisation called NOSTRA.
The game is basically a series of different missions with a very loose storyline attached to them and on the whole it has a very unsatisfactory feel to it. A bit like the creater threw it all together in his lunch break frm the leftover ideas for some other games.
Naturally you have your own super car with which to drive around in armed with lots of gadgets however you will always find that the boss men have superior fire power when...

monster hunter!!! on the psp!!
Advantages: OK graphics and nice multiplayer feature
Disadvantages: repetative gameplay anoying missions
...Monster hunter freedome is practicly the same as monster hunter for the ps2. the only difference is a slight change in the order of the missions. this game used to realy entertain me until i got to the second star missions, at this point i was bored stiff seem as though the whole game is anoyingly repetative. kill monsters, mod weapons n armour, kill more stuff, do a lil bit more moddin...........
there are some good points however. there is a wide range of weapons and armour to please all your sharp and sadistic needs..... anyway there are a number of big monsters called wyverns. the first you will need to hunt is the "kutku". quite a difficult task for people like me who prefer modern day gun type action. The name says freedom when realy yoyr not free if there is anoyin loading screens between every section of the map!
There is...

Hunters of Dune
Advantages: The begining of the end.
Disadvantages: You need to read the previous novels first
...Hunters of Dune
Hunters of Dune is the penultimate novel before the concluding version of the Dune series Sandworms of Dune.
Reading the authors notes within the lovely hardback version that I own, I realised the passion and dedication Brian Herbert and Kevin J Anderson had for concluding his fathers and friends work I knew that this was a work of love not only for a father/friend but a story telling legacy.
With the similar quotation designs through out the novel depicting characters diary thoughts, saying and views of the historical events throughout the Dune Series Hunters of Dune holds true to its predecessors.
Following different character groups;
?The escapees? who include the Ghola Duncan, Miles Teg, a number of Bene Gesserit Sisters including Sheena and Wild Reverand Mother, Tleilaxu Master Scytale, Rabbi...
