I was originally going to buy a filter jug as well until I discovered that you could buy a kettle that filters the water before boiling. The Kettle comes with a Brita Maxtra Cartridge and a voucher for £2.00 off is included in the pack. I made the mistake of buying replacement cartridges at the same time as the kettle as I did...

Advantages: Reliable, looks good and well designed.

One cup kettle - saves water and energy - Breville VKJ142

Advantages: Only produces one mug of boiling water at a time, easy to use
Disadvantages: Can't change the amount dispensed

...This review is for the Breville VKJ142 Hot Cup, which is a kettle designed to just heat the amount of water that you need. The aim of this kettle is to boil and dispense only one cup at a time, which has the advantage of being much quicker, and saves energy and time in not boiling water that isn't needed.
