toaster to the rescue
Review of Breville TR40 by
summah07babe
Advantages: looks and taste's great
Disadvantages: takes up alot of room
...this is what a Breville TR40 is in a detailed point of veiw,, It has a flat, non-stick, bottom hot plate which is what you put your sandwich on flat, non-stick, top hot plate which is connected to the bottom one with a floating hinge to open up and down. This means that it automatically adjusts to the thickness of your sandwich, without pressing too hard and squeezing all the filling out as that is really anoying. The operation of the Breville TR40 is pretty simple all you have to do is plug it in and away you go .... whats even more great is that the price is really quite low and affordible and you can use it as another wedding list gift. Basically I did a bit of research and discovered this is the toaster most grilled bread fans like. Its true to say it make superb tosties and it can be used to cook other stuff too. But it takes up...

PERCY
Review of Breville by
GillyPooh78
Advantages: Many! Also with sound - it "OINKS"
Disadvantages: Cooks only 1 toastie at a time!
...I was out shopping recently at JTF – a really cheap warehouse in Sheffield and came across this Breville Sandwich Toaster priced at just £9.99.
And for just £9.99, it had a name, ‘Percy’.
The moment I saw this, I knew that this was the ideal gift for Claire’s (my sister-in -law) birthday. She absolutely adores pigs and anything to do with pigs.
Anyway, while browsing at this Sandwich Toaster, I noticed a ‘Press here’ sign pointing underneath the pig’s chin. To my amazement, when you pressed the button under the chin of the pig, on the sandwich toaster handles, it goes “OINK,OINK,OINK” – just like a little piggy!
LOL
I thought on also, as she will be moving out of home this summer to go to university, that this was a brilliant idea for her as she will soon be a ‘poor student’ living on baked beans etc…. But not anymore! lol. Claire...

Breville Lightning Motorised Toaster
Review of Breville TT24 by
Playboy_4_life
Advantages: Very attractive, matching kettle and good reliable toaster.
Disadvantages: Get smeary!
...and toasting status indicator which allows you to see if it is nearly ready,
Extra long variable width toasting slots,
Frozen bread setting and mid-cycle cancel as well as a re-heat setting to just simple warm pre-cooked toast instead of cooking it.
We bought this toaster from the Littlewoods catalogue about 9 months ago for £60 however it is now available from Argos for £49.99. Please read my Breville kettle review for details of the matching kettle!
I would definitely recommend this toaster if your sick of having burnt toast or is your sick of putting toast in and forgetting about it and coming back later to find that it has gone cold....

Makes breakfast easy as breaking eggs
Review of Breville TT13 by
GTGlenn
Advantages: Consistent toasting, ease of use
Disadvantages: Outside surface soils easily
...Don't know about you, but I'm neevr totally awake in the morning. I also like my breakfast, so I want an easy way of producing a tasty and filling breakfast every morning..... the Breville toaster with the ability to toast 4 slices at once does just that.
Out of the box it's appearance is smart and modern. Plug it in and you are ready to start toasting immediately.
The toasting slots are quite wide so you can get those doorsteps in and toasted. I find that I'm often wishing the toaster would push the slices up further, though, when I'm toasting something smaller like crumpets.
The crumb tray is easily removable for cleaning. One of the biggest disadvantages of this toaster is its crome finish. Looks beautiful out of the box, but it is pain to keep it looking clean and smart.
Overall a good reliable toaster that's easy to use...

Toasted Sarnies.....Yum
Review of Breville TR16 by
thespurs
Advantages: Cheap, simple design, produces scrummy sarnies
Disadvantages: None
...out, producing radios. The sold thousands of radios and that market soon became saturated, so in 1974 the company released its Snack'n'Sandwich Toaster. Its sales figures reached 400,000 in the first year and it became one of the most successful product launches in Australian history. In the 1980's, Breville opened a Hong Kong branch and from there began operations in another 15 countries worldwide. Today, they are well established in the United Kingdom and have a substantial range of small kitchen products in their portfolio, ranging from blenders and health grills to kettles and steamers.
~Choosing a Sandwich Toaster~
At the end of the day, I think a sandwich toaster is pretty a much a sandwich toaster. There can't be that much difference between a rubbish one and a good one, what with the prices being very low. If I am honest, I have...

Who needs a boring sandwich toaster?
Review of Breville PIG 1 by
aliree
Advantages: Fun to use and great to look at!
Disadvantages: Makes one sandwich at a time
...The Breville Percy Pig Single Slice Sandwich Toaster is really fun to own. It really is shaped like a Gloucester Old Spot pig in pink plastic with grey splodges on it, four legs and a head!
The legs have non slip feet, and the sandwich plates are non stick. The sandwich is perfectly sealed and cut into two triangles.
There is a power indicator light which goes off after the cooking plates are at the correct temperature and comes on again when the plates are too cool. It only takes a couple of minutes to heat up initially.
The only real down side of this sandwich toaster is that it makes a single sandwich at a time. If you are cooking for two, you either get a triangle each or someone has to wait a while.
The machine is very easy to clean, just wipe when cooled down with a damp cloth. One word of warning, try not to touch...

A kettle with a little bit of fun thrown in.
Review of Breville JK15 LTNG by
chocolate26
Advantages: It glows so you can see the boiling and also keeps the water warm.
Disadvantages: Its a little expensive for a kettle especially if you pay non internet price.
...The Breville JK15 LTNG is a kettle with a little fun.
When you switch it on little red lights light up on the base of the kettle. The kettle will then start boiling and glowing in blue light which looks great in the dark.
You will also see the kettle bubble when it boils.
The kettle also has a warming function so you can keep the water hot for the next cup. All you have to do it push a button.
The kettle is so easy to use that you don't need to use the manual.
Its easy to clean as its quite a large kettle and has a lid that lifts off so that you can easily clean it.
I haven't found any disadvantages to this product and I've had it nearly 2 years.
I haven't even needed to repair it.
I also have the matching Brevile toaster PT14 which is a 4 slice toaster with many functions.
The toaster can be found in most high street shops but can...

Yummy toasty sandwiches.
Review of Breville TR25 by
cornishbabe
Advantages: Fantastic toasties, mouthwatering melts, stylish looks, all this and easy to clean!
Disadvantages: So great that all my friends try to pinch it!
...Fed up having to pay ridiculous prices for toasted ciabatta's in cafes I was delighted when I saw the Breville Cafe Style Sandwich Toaster and popped it on my Christmas List.
I have had my toaster now for 2 years and am still impressed with it.
* How does it work*
The toaster is extremely easy to use, just switch it on and wait. Once the plates are hot enough a green light illuminates: pop in your sandwich and hey presto a few minutes later you have a lovely toasted sandwich.
This toaster has an unique floating top to it so the lid sits lightly on the sandwich, whatever the thickness without squashing it.
Alternatively there is a height adjuster which you can use to stop the top plate from touching your sandwich -great for melting cheese on toast.
*What is it like"
The toaster has 2 flat non stick plates, one top and one bottom...

Breville lights up your day
Review of Breville PT15 by
mumno1
Advantages: warming rack, looks great, non-slip feet, removable crumb tray, browness can be adjusted to taste, cancel button
Disadvantages: sometimes the toaster goes off by itself.
...I purchased the Breville Lightning Toaster from Curry's around 3 years ago. The main reason for buying this toaster was simply that we needed one as we had just moved homes. But for this reason alone I could have bought any old toaster but this one really did catch my eye. It looked very appealing and different from other toasters, well at the time it did, now you have a whole range of these kinds of toasters in the market. It had a light system, thus the name 'lightning', whereby you could interpret how much time was remaining for the toast to be ready by how many lights were lit up.
FEATURES
*A Warming Rack*
This is useful for warming all kinds of foods such as pastries, buns, bagels, croissants, pizza slices etc. By adjusting the brownness controller you can acquire the perfect heat for warming foods. The rack is elevated...

Tip top and toasty
Review of Breville TT33 Chrome by
sparkled_pixie
Advantages: Has everything you need to make your toast
Disadvantages: None
...Eating toast is a comfort food for me, some people like to eat crisps and chocolate and I like to eat toast and there is simply nothing better than having a nice thick slice of toast dripping in butter to make you feel better. So it is essential that I have a decent toaster that cooks nice toast to the right amount of browning, not too burnt and not too undercooked and it needs to accept different sized slices of toast, whether they are quite thin or big huge slabs of bread.
The Breville TT33 is a 4 sliced metal toaster and retails in the region of £60-£80 depending on where you buy it from. Breville for me are a good kitchen brand and you definitely get value for money and there are many reasons why I chose to spend £79.99 on a toaster when I know you can buy them from as little as £9.99 but I saw this toaster in Comet and it ticked...
