...With monotonous regularity our toasters ‘die’ every two years. The last one was no different, having ejected 4 slices of toast most mornings for its brief life. If the white goods industry goes for a 5-year cycle of obsolescence by catastrophic failure of key components, someone forgot to tell the toaster people. In a bizarre coincidence, like all the buses coming along at the same time, the iron joined the queue for replacement having been with us for a commendable 15 years or so. Breville Lightning Motorised Toaster

Advantages: Very attractive, matching kettle and good reliable toaster.
Disadvantages: Get smeary!

...and toasting status indicator which allows you to see if it is nearly ready, Extra long variable width toasting slots, Frozen bread setting and mid-cycle cancel as well as a re-heat setting to just simple warm pre-cooked toast instead of cooking it. We bought this toaster from the Littlewoods catalogue about 9 months ago for £60 however it is now available from Argos for £49.99. I would definitely recommend this toaster if your sick of having burnt toast or is your sick of putting toast in and forgetting about it and coming back later to find that it has gone cold....

...Hello and welcome to this review! Standing in Tesco the 4 months agooo.... I couldn't decide between a Breville Or a Tesco Value. The difference being the price ofcourse. Breville on sale 14.95 Or the Value 3.98. Hmmmm. I thought I don't use sandwhich toasters that much BUT I picked up the Breville for some reason and headed to the checkout! I just had to have it, sounded like a good deal to me. When I got it home I was suprised just how big this thing is! It can make two sandwhiches in one go, thats an advantage over the Value one, that only had one Sandwhich. But it luckily does not take up to much room on the counter. It also looks very sylish as its silver in colour. The sandwhich toaster felt quality when I took it from the box and felt quite heavy which also tells me the quality is up to scratch. My new Breville tt68 Illuminated 2 slice toaster

Advantages: totally original

...Sunday 17th.August 2008.After looking at dozens of toasters including Porsche/Siemens...I saw this one and decided to buy it.I can tell you I wasn't disappointed!It's fabulous.It has so many lights its like the star ship Enterprise!The toaster must be used on lowest setting first time without bread to remove the new element smell. I did two cycles to completely remove the smell.The toaster has a blu Breville logo which lights up constantly even when not being used ..also a digital blue number stays on to show you what heat setting you are on.And when you insert your bread the fireworks begin.There are 12 lights in all and the toaster glows in a neon blue.Very stylish without being gimmicky.As the toast browns a set of 5 LEDs gradually turn themselves off indicating the stage of Browning...The whole design is well thought out...

Why do toaster's never last long?

Advantages: Nice toaster and it illuminates
Disadvantages: Only worked for a few months

...Those of you who recently read my Breville Kettle review will know that I also purchased the matching toaster as a set. Unfortunately the toaster has not lived up to my expectations, and sadly departed from my kitchen only a few months after purchase. I do not seem to have much luck with toasters at all, and if I manage to keep one beyond it's guarantee then I consider it to be fantastic! I have bought cheap toasters, expensive toasters, and they all never seem to last that long, so I have came to the conclusion that I may as well just stick to buying cheaper ones from now on. This Breville PT45 toaster came as part of a set including the kettle. I paid £35 for the set from Littlewoods, although both kettle and toaster are available to buy separately. ...With my wife and I regularly deciding to have a nice little breakfast together we were gettting fed up of having to stand around waiting for one of our sets of toast to be ready and then make another so following our other Breville purchases and how happy we were with them we decided to pick this up when we spotted it for just £25. This is an ideal toaster for a family or for those of us who like our toast with the ability to toast 4 slices of bread at and one time and even set different temperatures on each of the 2 sides. The toaster is not heavy (I tried lifting some of the other 4 slice toasters and was shocked how light this is in comparison), feels well made, looks good in my kitchen, does not take up as much room as other 4 slice toasters on the market...oh and it toasts my bread exactly as I set it to. Want to change the heat...

...I have just bought this toaster a week ago because my old one burnt out. Although the cost was £41:99p I wanted one that pushed the look of a quality build onto me. Others just seemed to reflect light. When you look at this Breville TT68 you emmediatly see the build quality is there. Before its pluged in you will see that the sides are covered with a clear plastic that is actually Pollycarbonate stuff. normally the silver sides collect finger prints and it looks dirty even after one use. This is easy to wash therefore looks clean all the time. When you start to use it, you will find the slots are extra long for that bread that wont fit a lot of other toasters. At the bottom there is a crumb tray which is a must. There is also a cancel button if you decide to cut the toasting lenth down sharply. The thing I like is the blue LED lights...
