Welcome Home - Brians debut solo album

Advantages: Showcases Brians vocals quite well, some catchy tracks,
Disadvantages: Wont appeal to all, BSB fans and others, some tracks slightly 'filler'

...on the kind of music that means the most to him, after so many years of being with the group (not that it means he doesn't care about the group or wants to leave him, thats not true but hopefully you know what I mean, its a different thing). I would say that its worth giving a shot, if your not sure about it then try accessing the sites mentioned above and check out the sound clips. I quite enjoy this album, I think the only downside I would say, other than the obvious fact that some people will be put off by the genre, is that some of the tracks aren't as memorable as others and you may not remember them so much after listening to the album. I feel that some of the tracks are a bit 'filler' perhaps, at the worst (ie they aren't quite as catchy or thought provoking as others) but I would still give it a listen....

Review of Welcome Home - Brian Littrell

Welcome Home, Brian Littrell!

Advantages: Brian's vocals
Disadvantages: Lyrical content

...faith in God and his family. People unfamiliar with Brian's life story may have been surprised by Brian's decision to record a Christian CD, but dedicated Brian fans have known for a long time that this is the music he's most passionate about and is where he got his 'start' before he became a Backstreet Boy. Similarly he was met by some scepticism from the Christian music world, as they also didn't know how genuine he was. Brian was brought up in a strong Baptist environment and learnt to sing in church. At age five he became very sick and nearly died from a heart infection, and since then he has given all he can back to his faith and truly believes it was a miracle from God that he survived. Later on, at age 23 at the height of the Backstreet Boys' career Brian had to undergo open heart surgery to correct a hole in his heart...

Brian Aldiss - Grey beard

Advantages: good read
Disadvantages: Slow to start with

...turn out to be a startling and revelation filled adventure. Along the way they will meet some exceedingly strange characters who will help them and some will steal from them, eventually they will discover that humanity has one small spec of hope and that is something worth living for and maybe dying for. A superb novel which is superbly written. The novel can be sad at times and the village Greybeard comes from is an awful and depressing place, a place of no hope for the future pervades everything. But the middle of the book begins to lift the reader and the ending is superbly though provoking. Think about it, how would the world cope with if children simply stopped being born across the planet? Give this book a go, you, eventually , will not be disappointed. Written by Brian W Aldiss. Summary: Takes a while to get...

The Life Of Brian

Advantages: Finally hear the "lost masterpiece"
Disadvantages: Brian's voice is not what it used to be

...First of all it should be made clear that this is of course not the "actual" 1960s lost album but a brand new recording. That version of "Smile" was to be released as a follow up to Pet Sounds and its revolutionary song structures, surreal lyrics and sheer elegance was the album that would cement The Beach Boys as greater than even The Beatles. Brian Wilson, meanwhile, was to be enshrined as rock's true genius. Of course it was never completed and Brian's drug-addled mind fractured. The project was abandoned and The Beach Boys would now hit a steady decline after the creative peak of Pet Sounds. For many years fans have been clamouring for material from the 60's sessions and versions of Smile have turned up on many bootlegs of varying quality. At last then we have a final version by the great man himself minus those Beach Boys...

Here Comes Brian Eno

Advantages: Eno's first musical high
Disadvantages: One bad track

...Having blathered on about Brian Eno?s genius in my Ops for Bowie?s Outside and Earthling (though not in my Op on Fripp? Exposure and he was in on that too, but not quite so obviously) it seems fitting that I get round to the master himself. That first sentence should give you an indicator as to the high esteem with which I hold Eno. For Eno is an aberration, a musician who is not a musician. When he was allowed into Roxy Music is was because he had a high quality tape recorder, I kid you not. Eno began recording and treated the other band members? instruments. He was interested in the fusing of music and technology. Eno in many eyes was and is the father of ambient music. His later recording: his Ambient series for the now defunct EG records (gobbled by up Virgin which caused an acrimonious fight for cash and music rights...

Brian Lara... A Proud Man?

Advantages: Easy to pick up and play.... Good onlne play
Disadvantages: Graphics not good for 360.... Not enough game modes.... Fielding is to hard

...So its 2007 and codemasters have released the cricket giant Brian Lara International Cricket 2007. In the past the game has been a leading game of its genre and has been highly anticipated, but does it live upto the hype? >> How the game plays If you have ever played a cricket game you will know what to expect. Batting can be acheived by positioning the batsman, targeting the area you want the ball to go and finally pressing the button depending on the type of shot you wish to make. Bowling also fairly easily acheived by positioning where you want the ball to pitch, then pressing a button, depending on what type of bowl you want to bowl. A nice touch by codematers is the bowling bar which appears, if you stop the bar to high, its a no-ball. However the lower you stop the bar, the slower the ball will travel. I found this...

Brian Lara Cricket - 2007 (PS2)

Advantages: Best cricket game at the moment, play world cup, test and one dayers, all teams
Disadvantages: Poor fielding, test match unrealistic

...This is my second cricket game that I have ever owned for console - the first was the original Brian Lara Cricket Game. I haven't played on any of the other previous BLC games before this. I also chose to get this instead of Cricket 2007 (EA Sports) after reading reviews and playing both games at friends houses. The game is a good, realistic(ish), cricket game that is the best out there at the moment. Starting with the positives. I like the bowling and batting. They are easy to pick up (perhaps too easy - see later). With the analog stick you can place shots to perfection. Also batting is all about the timing - too early or late and the shot is not good. Bowling can be varied with special deliveries (although it can be hard to actually get this to work sometimes). The variation on ball speed is good as well. There are plenty...

THE HOLY TRINITY OF BRIAN

Advantages: HILLARIOUS,RIVITING,
Disadvantages: CAN APPEAR BLASPHEMUS

...IF ECER THERE WAS A GOD THE FATHER,GOD THE SON AND GOD THE HOLY GHOST, THEN THE PYTHON TEAM SUMMED HIM HIP IN THE FILM TO A TEE. THIS FILM...PROBABLY MOCKS ORGANISED RELIGION,MORE THAN ANY OTHER MEDIA HAS EVER DONE.....AND ITS WHEN I WATCH THIS FILM THAT I WONDER WHY SALMON RUSHDIE BECAME SUCH A TARGET FOR HIS SATANIC VERSES! IF THIS FILM DOES NOT PORTRAY THE MAKER OF US ALL IN MORE SEVERE TERMS THAN THAT OF SATANIC VERSES,THEN MY CORRAN IS FIRE-PAPER. I DEFY ANYONE WHO WATCHES THIS FILM TO DENY THAT JESUS CHRIST DID NOT HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOUR!. THE PRODUCERS AND MAKERS OF THIS FILM HAVE STATED FROM THE OUTSET THAT BRIAN....WHO IN THE FILM IS MISS-TOOK FOR JESUS...HAS NO CONNECTION WITH THE LATER...BUT I DISSAGREE... WE BRING OUR CHILDREN UP TO BELIEVE THAT EVERY CHRISTMAS A STRANGER CLIMS DOWN OUR CHIMNEY,EATS OUR FOOD...

Brian Lara Cricket

Advantages: The pace-setter of cricketing games
Disadvantages: Occasional freezing/ Loading times

...Before the release on PS2 of the new Brian Lara game, I thought I'd wip out the old version, dusting off the cobwebs and get a feel for it again... Cricket games are always an intriguing subject in the computer gaming world. Considering a Test match can last five days especially! But the gameplay is fast enough to overcome this. However, a memory card is a must if you go for the test, rather than the one-day options! The shot selection is adequate enough to be able to adapt and ball any ball the computer throws down at you, with clear guidance in the manual as to which directional arrows and buttons play which shot. Same can be said for the bowling deliveries, although spinners do have more options it seems than pace bowlers. Commentary by Johnathon Agnew and Geoff Boycott is up to a good enough and varied standard, and only...

Brian Lara International Cricket 2007; Hit for 6

Advantages: High authenticity and supreme realism
Disadvantages: Graphics sometimes pix-eleated

...I big cricket fan and player i am i was finally relieved to see the latest edition of Brian Lara International Cricket. After a two year wait was it all worth it? It was pleasing to see the graphics had been improved, player authenticity was a big improvement. Faces had been improved to distinguish certain players but some were still the basic formats. It was nice to see the that the newer ranges of bats such as the Gray Nicholls predator and Slazenger SXI, although it was a bit of a disappointment not to see the Woodworm or Puma range. The most impressive section of this game play is the players use their real life bats such as Strauss using the Gray Nicholls predator. The all new formats such as the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007,West Indies and the ICC Champions Trophy, India add amazing realistic features and group formats...
