Mega building
Review of Mega Bloks by
mumsymary
Advantages: fairly inexpensive
Disadvantages: not as good as lego
...Mega blocks.
I have some at work, now I have some at home I went into my local charity shop and bought a boat with added bricks for my grandson.
Mega blocks are a large plastic brick (lego style ) they are brightly coloured attractive bricks fairly easy for a child to fit together.
This boat with bricks cost me 75p I think it cost about £10 in the shops a little cheaper than lego.
These bricks encourage hand eye co-ordination and fire imagination, encorage creativity. These bricks are suitable for ages between 1yr and 5/6 yrs.
These bricks are available in sets of standard bricks or in sets like trucks or the boat I bought.
The bricks are in my opinion not as good as lego the plastic a little softer. I do not think they will be as durable as lego, but saying that the bricks I have at work are quite old and have been played...

Fisher Price Peek-A-Blocks Brilliant and important
Review of Fisher Price Peek-a-Blocks Sensory Blocks by
Emma71273
Advantages: Colourful, educational and adaptable
Disadvantages: None
...Whichever peek-a-blocks set you buy you will find that they offer more than the average stacking brick. It is an essential part of every childs development that they learn to stack bricks on top of each other and while they are doing that why not keep them interested with see through bricks with different insides. This was not my prefered set and we did buy every set on the market and now have a box of 60+ bricks. They are hard wearing with textured surfaces and recognisable subjects inside. Some of the bricks have movable objects inside and both my children of which I have a girl and a boy have played and played with them. My son who is 3 and a half likes to see whats inside them all and sort them in to groups of vehicles and food and animals and my daughter who is 18 months loves to stack and shake them. I see these blocks...

Brilliant Bobbi Brown Bronzer
Review of Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick by
VerySpecialOne
Advantages: Amazing colour, looks beautiful
Disadvantages: Very expensive
...The Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick is a bronzer in a block with 5 stripes of shimmering colour. The Shimmer Brick is available in several shades: bronze, beige, apricot, rose and pink. I own the Shimmer Brick in bronze and therefore this review will focus on my experience with the bronze shimmer brick.
Priced at £27 each - these are not cheap. But they are luxurious and has become one of my favourite makeup products. Also like most bronzers they do last for ages and although £27 seems like a lot of money to pull out, it is a long term investment in a quality makeup brand. The bronzer brick has a very solid texture which means it will last a long time.
The shimmer brick comes in a square black plastic case, emblazoned with the Bobbi Brown logo in white. On opening the black plastic case, the shimmer brick has 5 horizontal stripes of colour...

Tumblin' good fun!
Review of Fisher Price Tumblin Giraffe by
piggypine
Advantages: Long lasting, durable, fun
Disadvantages: Only comes with 5 blocks
...the action. He didn't get the hang of stacking the bricks for some time, certainly not on the tail section, and was usually more content to wait until mummy had piled the bricks into a tower before he'd move in to destroy it sending the blocks flying across the room. The blocks themselves always caught his attention with their bright colours and funny sounds, they easily double up as rattles and can be played with separate from the giraffe. Elsa has also played with the giraffe although she's always been a bit more organised and methodical, she quickly learned how to stack bricks nicely and even at a young age liked them to be nice and tidy tucked away in giraffes tummy or on his tail, it's a very cute sight watching your little one tidy away their bricks and then carry around the unit as if it were a handbag.
As the set comes it's great...

A Lighter Version of Jenga.
Review of Uno Stacko by
wendybull
Advantages: Colour & Number recognition
Disadvantages: Too light
...version are made from plastic and each brick is very light, meaning as you try to pull one from the tower, it pulls everything out of shape and therefore makes the tower crash down far too early, simply from it's lack of weightiness.
It says on the box that the game can be played with 2-10 players and from ages 7 upwards. I would probably agree with the age as my five year old had trouble pulling blocks out one handed, simply because of the size of his hands, whereas a seven year olds hands will be slightly bigger, allowing for an easier grip and span. As for the number of players, I personally think ten would be far too many. The tower is too unstable and I don't think it would last long enough for everyone to get maybe even one turn each. There are so many different game play symbols, that it could mean some players would be left out...

i can't stop playing collapse 2!
Review of Super Collapse (PC) by
danzo
Advantages: very good game!!
Disadvantages: too adictive and can be hard on your eyes
...). But they have to be in groupings of three or more!" Sometimes bombs appear with the bricks thses are great if you want to get rid of lots of blocks. Black bombs: gets rid of a whole bunch of blocks. Blue: get rid of all blue blocks on the sreen Red: gets rid of all the red bricks ect. If you get rid of all the blocks on the screen the you get extra bonus points.
Layout:
On the right of the game is a pannel which tell you your score, level, and lines left. The rest of the screen is the game apart from the bottom where you have the arangements of the row which will come next.
There is also a pause button which belive me will come in handy.
i would recommend this to everyone even if you dont usually like these sorts of games because some of my friends who hate these kinds of games loved this!
love it!!!...

Mega school bus
Review of Mega Blocks Mega Blocks Schools Bus by
kibs
Advantages: Fun, sturdy and quite.
Disadvantages: None.
...This is a yellow and orange, American style school bus that I bought for my little boy a few months ago. He was, and is, still into cars and similar, and when I saw this, I picked it up without second thought, especially as this came with mega blocks. For those unaware, what mega blocks are, they are simply Lego but a lot bigger for younger children.
Although the doors and windows dont open this isn't a problem as the entire roof comes off. The roof can also be used as a building board for the bricks and the bus driver.
Once the roof has been lifted we see that we have around 20 bricks of varying sizes and a bus driver. The pieces can easily be fitted together and pulled apart by very young children.
Once play has finished, the blocks can be easily placed back into the bus, the driver at his seat, and the child can push the bus...

Mega disappointment
Review of Mega Bloks Pre-School Maxi Bag - Boys by
marielou1860
Advantages: the child can't swallow anything
Disadvantages: value for money, sticking together is poor
...We bought these for our 1 year old for his first christmas to try and steer him away from his big brothers 'proper' lego.
The blocks are big and colourful and comes in different sizes of blocks.
To give you a rough idea the width of these blocks is the same as normal lego but where the normal lego has 4 pods on the top of each block, the Mega Bloks has 1.
Although the blocks come in a large bag, priced at £9.99, there aren't really a lot of blocks in here to allow the child to build different things.
The bloks come in typical colours aimed at young toddlers - Blue, Yellow, Green, Orange and purple.
There are also a small plastic bag inside containing 2 eye balls to allow for face building.
I had to buy additional items to allow my son have more variation in the things he could build. I was quite disappointed at this mainly because...

Tell me your FANTASIES
Review of Jenga Truth or Dare by
JoJammy
Advantages: Well known, easy to pick up, good for all ages
Disadvantages: You may have to tell everyone your secrets!
...!
*** WARNING – PLAYING THIS GAME COULD REALLY GIVE YOUR FRIENDS SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT! ***
JENGA
This popular stacking game is great for parties, and small gatherings. The main idea of the game is to remove blocks from a tower. Once you removed a block from the tower without making the tower fall you must then replace the block at the top of the tower … again, making sure it doesn’t fall. The game is over when the tower falls, with either the one that made the tower fall being the loser, or the last player to take a brick out and replace it without it falling becomes the winner. We usually go for the loser .. and give them a forfeit to do.
+ Building the Tower
The Tower is built by placing fifty four bricks in rows of three. You will get a loading tray in the Jenga box to help you build a tower quickly. You...

A bucket full of fun
Review of Early Learning Centre Wooden Bricks by
sandemp
Advantages: Great fun for little builders | And they're learning
Disadvantages: It hurts when they hit you
..., if it matches their colour then they win that piece, otherwise it goes back into the bucket and it's the next persons turn. Or simply sit and sort the bricks with your child.
As they get older add the shape into the mix, so they are matching shapes as well as colours. This will help you child no end and give them a headstart when they start school.
~~Number skills~~
Take just the cubes, and you have the perfect aide to teaching counting skills. At the school my children go to they learn adding and taking away using very similar blocks. You could place a group of five bricks and a group of two and they could work out how many there are altogether. Or you could take two bricks away from the group of five and see how many are left, the possibilities are endless.
You could even ask your child to build a tower of six red bricks and combine all...
