...The village hotel & leisure club in Wirral Have recently joined here and at £32 per month, each, we feel we have a bargain. They even waved the joining fee, normally £70. We joined, my wife and I, on the ?Flexi? promotion. This is where you are only tied in for 3 months as opposed to the ?Full? 12 month tie in. Extras given include £15 to spend in their restaurants, 10% discounts in the bars and coffee shop and 2 free vouchers for friends/family. The vouchers entitle the user to a free week in the gym, pool etc worth £70. If you recommend someone and they join you also get £50 of a nights stay in the hotel. BEST HOTEL LEISURE CLUB IN AREA

Advantages: Brilliant unbeatable leisure club, clean and at reasonable cost
Disadvantages: Hotel food average, Chistmas parties a disappointing rip off

...I have been a member of the health club for 3 years now, and my review will be primarily about this. The hotel was built just over 3 years ago and is part of the De Vere Group. The leisure club is in the basement of the hotel...I say basement , it is actually on the ground floor, but the entrance to the hotel which you have to go through is on the level above, so you have to go up steps/ramp from the very large roomy carpark and them back down again. It did originally have a cafe copra, but this was shut and replaced by a second exercise studio, the ggod news is as of august 2008 they have opened a Starbucks which members get 20% discount at.The cost of membership is obviously different dependant on peak and off peak , there is not a family discount but you can attach children to membership for £10 a month, (7.50 at the Dudley branch...

The Swan Hotel - Newby Bridge, Cumbria

Advantages: Very tranquil, pretty setting and beautiful hotel
Disadvantages: Car park is about 500 yards from entrance - when it rains you get very wet!

...My partner and I stayed at The Swan Hotel in Newby Bridge last weekend and i felt compelled to share our experience with others... The hotel is located at the Southern tip of Lake Windermere and overlooks the River Leven. It is in an absolutely beautiful setting, is accessed via a small bridge and is set right back from the main road. I think in total it has 55 bedrooms, some of which are suites - but we opted for a standard double during our stay. We were in room 313 and this had a river view - as do all the odd numbered rooms i think. The room was very spacious and the bed was extremely comfy (although very soft). The bathroom was perfectly pleasant, although decorated in a slightly 'old fashioned' way. You get a few select Sky Channels in the rooms and also broadband is available. ...I am a frequent swimmer, which is great but in the borough of Lewisham can be difficult. The pools seem to over timetable themselves during the week so that obscure times are left for family or individual swimming, other times are filled with schools, lessons, ladies only, swimming clubs etc. The Bridge Leisure Centre is no exception to this and taking my two children swimming is a matter of checking the timetable daily and squeezing in an hour when the learner pool is free. Speaking of the learner pool it is of a good standard. One length of the pool is completely steps, which allow timid children to enter the pool with confidence and the water doesn't reach any more than 0.9m in depth. ...***Background*** Having left the Wild West town of Oatman, we headed down the old route 66 until it joined on to Route 95. This was a beautiful section of road and we thoroughly enjoyed this historic road especially as it took us past the lovely Topock Bay. Turning on to London Bridge Road just past Lake Havasu Airport is the best road into this lovely town, as it takes you right down the lakeside and gives you a chance to explore this area a little bit before heading into the main attraction of London Bridge. Lake Havasu City is in Arizona but only around 5 miles from the Californian Border. The Lake is part of the Colorado River although this section was much prettier than the muddy waters that we had seen around the Canyon area. The Lake vyrnwy Hotel is situated in the heart of Mid Wales near the shropshire border of a town named oswetsry. High up on the rocks it sits over looking the lake and tower.
