A clasic brio toy train

...Shall we play trains today? I am looking at the Flying Scotsman Made by Brio. Brio has been making wooden toys for a long, long time. Brio, a Swedish firm now multinational began in 1884 as a basket making company and developed to making wooden toys wooden trains are brilliant toys. Brios also make prams, cots, high chairs and car seats. The flying Scotsman toy train is a wooden train built to go with the brio wooden train sets. This brio toy is a good reproduction of the Flying Scotsman's engine and tender. This toy is authentically reproduced; details make it like the real train. The flying Scotsman is Green with black details. The engine number and LNER written in gold. Makes me feel all nostalgic for those years of steam. The length of this toy train is 160mm. There are magnets used to attach the train to any other carriages...

Review of Brio Flying Scotsman Engine

This Train will terminate sooner rather then later

Advantages: nice design, good remote, children like it
Disadvantages: too many batteries, not so cheap

...My son got this train as a present as he was already the owner of substantial number of Brio train collection pieces (rails, bridges, trains, wagons, traffic signs, buildings, animals, trees...). All of them were pretty static unless moved manually. This was his first battery operated vehicle and on top of that it has remote control. I thought that would be a good opportunity to stop him playing with various remote controls for adults. (It was only a thought as there are never enough remotes for boys - well, men actually.) Remote control is in size like a third of the real TV remote, quite chunky and lays nice in the child's little hands. The train is 19 cm long. The toy was a great success. It gave a complete new dimension to the whole Brio set. My son quickly discovered all the options available from the remote so horn was used...

Review of Brio Remote Control Express Train

Hours of fun and cheaper than Brio

Advantages: Inexpensive, compatible with other sets, good for imaginative play
Disadvantages: Some broken track in 18 months, but not too unreasonable

...reached the crawling stage, and shaking the track until it comes apart! Fortunately, the track is very cheap to replace, at only £1.87 for 4 sections of straight or curved track. Extra engines are only 84p! The track is also compatible with similar (but much more expensive) pieces from Brio or The Early Learning Centre. The railway engine and carriages will also run on these, but we have chosen to add more items from the Tesco range because they are so reasonably priced. I believe that the original set was around £10, although I looked for it in Tesco today and couldn't find that exact set. We have added the "station play set", which was £9.43. This is a set of a train and two carriages. The train is a sleek looking blue vehicle designed for speed, the carriages are both email blue too they are simple with a slot along the centre top in this slot your child can slot the email messages that are to be delivered. Tesco trains

Advantages: Cheap

...Santa bought my four year old the lovely mountain train set made by tesco. He desperately wanted a train set and when we were in Toysrus we would look at the brio sets and then look around the other toys. It was not unitl near to Christmas that I actually decided to look at the price. I was horrified to discover how expensive brio train sets were. I looked in several other shops ELC etc but they too were too expensive. I found a cheap set in ASDA but it did not seem to be compatabile with brio or even near to the quality, so I decided not to buy the train set from there either. When we were shopping in Tescos my son pointed out the train sets and took a real interest in a lovely mpuntain train set which had had a wooden train set, a little bridge, wooden animals, trees, tunnels, trains, carriages,sign and mountains all for £24...

Short and straight Brio track.

...or female end pieces to connect. Brio wooden trains are an incredible toy they will inspire your child?s imagination and they will practise their motor skills constructing this rails. The rails do fit together fairly easily a 3 year old can do it. Playing with and constructing Brio train sets will improve your child's hand eye coordination, knowledge of shapes and forms. Playing with these toys will practise and improve manual dexterity, creativity. These short tracks and Brio trains are suitable for children over 3 years of age upwards my 6 year old grandson still enjoys setting his track up. It does not seem posible to buy this from tesco on line but I have seen in it several larger tesco shops. There are complete train sets available ot you can just buy a few pieces The tesco wooden tracks are really worth buying and the trains and railway furniture are all right but the brio trains are nicer and the brio range of trains and extras is larger. Bright and Brilliant Brio Blocks

Does your Matchbox car need to cross the Brio railway line ?

...a green coloured wooden base. This crossing will add that extra play opportunity to the brio train track and will make playing trains and cars fun. I have spent many hours playing with Brio trains and I have played with this crossing .Both my grandson has a large Brio train set and my school does too. Brio train play is good fun. Brio toy as are well made will last many play hours. I anticipate my grandsons will go in the loft for the next generation. This crossing is good for children to practice their fine motor skills both fitting the track then raising and lowering the red barriers. These barriers also make them aware of road safety. Although there are not many real rail barriers like this left in England but there are a few. I have listened to some great imaginary play by children using this barrier stopping their cars...
