Halogen Oven
Advantages: Don't know as did not work
Disadvantages: Does not work and Customer Services are not good.
...Firstly, I would not buy from this company ever again had such a nightmare I can tell you.
1. Ordered the oven. Asked and paid for next day delivery. which was to be delivered on the Wednesday.
2. Did not receive oven until 8.30pm on the Friday evening. Which if we were pensioners I would advise not to open the door after 6pm so this was not good at all.
Did give me a refund though on delivery charges and a hamper of 4 goods.
3. The hamper did not arrive until a week later - no packing inside the box, goods were just rolling around in it. Also there was no proper label on or postal code.
4. After receiving the oven on the Friday. The Saturday night we put a full chicken in and vegetables and it did not work - we were still cooking this chicken 5 hours later and we were starving. Had to have a frozen pizza instead...

JML Halogen Oven
Advantages: Quicker cooking
Disadvantages: The lid h
...Well after a year of using a rubbish old electric cooker that would take nearly 45 minutes to heat the oven, this halogen oven was a miracle for me. My Dad bought me one for my birthday but it lay in my room for 2 month collecting dust. One day i decided to use it for a couple of chicken kievs and they turned out amazing, Absolutely perfect cooked all the way through. I havnt used my electric cooker ever since.
The halogen oven is so easy to use, 1 minute and its pre-heated. Just turn the dial to wot heat u want, set the time, fling your roast chicken in there and some vegetables and let it do the work. When the time that you set runs out the machine switches itself off and stops it from been
burnt to death if you forget about it. Also you can look in to see how its getting on without letting heat out. Its alot quicker than any normal...

JML Halogen Oven
Advantages: Simple to use, perfect food every time.
Disadvantages: None
...Halogen Oven.
We have had the slow cooker, the microwave, the George Foreman Grill and now the HALOGEN OVEN.
This is a MUST HAVE for any household serious about cooking.
From the day we took it out of the box, we have used it for all of our meals.
It is simplicity to use itself and all you have at the end is one glass bowl to wash/clean.
Because the heat is from the top and fan circulated, all of the food gets cooked at the same rate. Notice how the food at the back of a fan assisted oven cooks quicker than the food at the front. When you are cooking itmes like yorkshire puddings, you cannot open the oven to turn them around as the change in temperature makes them drop. Not so with the Halogen oven, all round cooking, perfect food every time.
Cakes are larger and lighter and roast potatoes are to die for.
I do not...

JML Halogen Oven
Advantages: Powerful, cheap to run, watch as it cooks, timer - cannot overcook
Disadvantages: None for my purposes
...I was, as always, concerned when buying something by mail order without being able to try it. I need not have worried. This is one of the best buys I have ever made. It works superbly. Everything I have cooked in it turns out perfectly. Last night we had roast chicken and roast potatoes all cooked together in the Halogen oven, with gravy from the juices collected in the bottom and it was as superbly cooked as you would get in the best restaurant.
I cook proper home-made hamburgers at will now where before my wife virtually banned them because of the smoke and smell in the kitchen if grilled and the cleaning afterwards if cooked in the oven. Now I just put one in the Halogen oven, cook it to perfection and let it self-clean - no smell, no smoke, no washing up, no fuss. Wonderful!
I have cooked many things at different levels...

The JML Halogen Oven - My Review.
Advantages: Economy, ease of use, short cooking times, perfect results
Disadvantages: I would like to see a stand for the lid. Finding a place to lay a hot lid can be tricky!
...I bought the oven with some trepidation. I'd seen it being demonstrated on one of the TV Shopping Channels and was impressed.
It arrived very quickly and after a brief look through the instruction booklet, decided to give it a try. My wife sifted through the 'fridge and we settled for a couple of chicken thighs.
We placed the portions on the metal grid inside the glass bowl, fitted the lid, set the temperature to about 200 degrees, the timer for 30 minutes and closed the safety handle. Result? perfectly cooked chicken!
And that was the start of our love affair with the halogen oven. Since that first day we've used it regularly. Fish steaks are particularly good as are pork chops, grilled bacon, sausages, tomatoes, roast and baked potatoes and we've even cooked (to perfection) a roast joint of pork. The crackling is great!
At first I...

JML Halogen Oven 1300 watt
Advantages: Speedy, versatile and excellent results
Disadvantages: Not available in the shops
...Faster than a conventional oven, 360 degree visibility without having to open a door. Amazing how much room there is, it can cook a large item of poultry and vegetables. Reduces the cooking tilme with a powerful fan assisted halogen heat. Food doesn't dry out and everything we have tried in it tastes better than a micrwave and even a conventional oven. Add to that the fact that it's rack system manages to ensure that food is never left to cook in fat and there is a self clean facility that removes any stuck on crumbs or fat. Unlike a microwave it browns food. Considering the fact that it can roast, grill and bake all for less than £50 and there is no better value kitchen appliance. Only available from JML on-line or by TV adverts. If you buy 2 you save £20 !!
Ideal for a present....

Mini-oven for fast, tasty food
Advantages: Cooks faster than a traditional oven, uses less power
Disadvantages: Not as quite as fast as a microwave
...To quote Monty Python - "and now for something completely different ....." Introducing the JML Halogen Mini-Oven - this is a compact table top unit which is ideal for cooking entire meals faster than a conventional oven and using less power. How do they manage to do that you may well wonder and hopefully, in the course of this review, I will be able to explain it to you.
Try to forget about those awful JML adverts for a moment - they may well irritate (they do as far as I am concerned) - but the company behind them, John Mills Ltd has over 40 years experience in bringing innovative products to the marketplace to try to make everyday life that much easier. I haven't really bought their products before but although they aren't the only supplier of this type of product (Easylife have a cheaper one but it isn't in stock!) they did...

Rule Britannia!
Advantages: Cheap! Central Location.
Disadvantages: Soft Pillows, dirty bathroom.
...expensive. So, it was time for some shopping around?
Doing a load of searching and whatnot on Google, I stumbled upon this, the Britannia Hotel. Located down New Street, Birmingham, and at just £35 per night as the advanced fee ? it was a bargain.
Finding The Hotel
Being pretty poor at most sort of planning, I didn?t really take much note of exactly where the Hotel was, just that it was somewhere down New Street. So, it actually took us a bit of finding, but that was mainly due to us not knowing Birmingham at all. All I remember now, is it is next to Primark, so that?s that.
The Room
We had room 225, located right at the end of the maze-like corridor, on floor two. Opening the door, the room was pretty much how we expected it to be ? as basic as humanly possible. Two Beds, sat next to each other, with a tiny set of drawers to...

RULE BRITANNIA
Advantages: Well thought out and good gaming rules
Disadvantages: Requires a little focus, not for everyone
...Long before the popular games like 'Age of Empires' and 'Civilisation' tried to bring us a flavour of historical strategy gaming to our PC there were a number of board games that did the same on a more traditional gaming format. Britannia is one of the best of these and has been going strong with a few updates since the mid 80's.
This review deals with the 2nd edition of the game brought out by Fantasy Flight Games featuring revised and updated rules from the game's original creator, Lewis E. Pulsipher and including new graphics and streamlined game play but rules and game are essentially the same for original edition brought out in 1986.
Britannia is turn based historical strategy game that aim to take the player through the history of Britain from the Roman invasion of 43 AD to the Norman invasion of 1066. This is a very...

Rule Britannia?
Advantages: newly refurbed room, brilliant bath and shower, price
Disadvantages: some areas still quite tatty
...Well my second weekend in Brumopolis passed with little excitement, which was something of a relief.
The hotel on this occasion was booked through laterooms.com (see previous review) and was the Britannia in the city centre, it cost me £47 for a double room bed only, a friend also staying the same night paid £42 for a single.
Arriving at the train station my previous visits 'beer compass' directions sent me for a walk around the outside of the train station but from the exit through the shopping centre it is literally a walk of a minute at most (note to self shoving through groups of football fans is a bad idea). But for a city centre hotel you cant get much more central than this one.
The hotel itself has the entry through Union Passage just off the main street. The revolving door is quite heavy but there is a wider...
