Advantages: safe,well padded and lasts till they are 11!
Disadvantages: its not isofix

...I found this for an absolutely bargain price of just £65 in argos- the cheapest you can get it elsewhere is £95 so truely a steal! Now this seat is one that can be used from 9kgs right up until they are 36kgs or roughly age 11! It has side impact protection with soft, deeply padded wings and an easily adjustable five-point one pull safety harness. The harness retainers make it easy to take your child in and out of the car seat and there is a useful little feature on the harness which shows you that it is tight enough. The other feature is a one-pull height-adjustable headrest which moves up easily as your child grows oh and most importantly as any parent knows removable machine washable covers! Fantastic safe seat

Advantages: good head suppirt and protection, eaily cleaned, safe and secure.
Disadvantages: its hard to think of any!

...with an older toddler i just keep it in the reclined position. the cup holders are useful (although they could have been a little larger as only a few styles of beackers will fit them (try the tommee tippee easiflow beakers)). the covers are easily removeable for washing and come in some great colours (i have it in jigsaw (black) which looks great on my black car seats. as baby/toddler grows the harness and headrest hight is easily raised (or lowered) so no fiddling about with rethreading harnessess through holes, and then when they no longer need the harness it simply stores in the back of the seat (i tested this out and it took me less than 3mins to remove the harness and then put it back on again!). the padding on this seat is wonderfully soft (in my opinion much more so than many of the stage 1 seats i looked at). when fitting...

Britax Evolva 123 Ultra Car Seat

Advantages: Fits kids from 9mths to 12 years old. Looks Great. Comfortable.
Disadvantages: Not an isofix seat. Price (but justifiable)

...As my young man is now too big for his rear facing car seat we needed to invest in new car seat. After spending some time looking around online and "testing" the seats out in our local Halfords we decided on the Britax Evolva Ultra 123 in the Geneva finish. We chose this seat for several reasons including the fact that it is designed to last from the age of nine months (or 9kg) to 11 years (or 36kg) and can be adjusted to grow with your child, it is well padded and seems very comfortable even for our 6 month old (who is very big for his age!) and lastly because it looks so very smart. The seat is well padded and has washable covers (a must with children) and pull-out drinks holders on both sides which are a bit stiff on ours but perhaps they'll loosen up with use. ...After a recent car crash it was brought to our attention the need for a very safe car seat! While searching for a new seat for our daughter we searched the internet and a number of shops. She is nearly 3 and 15kg but to short for a seat which uses just a normal seat belt. My brother has this seat for his son and i liked the look of it and it looked comfy etc. After reading reviews and comparing prices we went to Halfords so that our daughter could try the seat out. Whilst there, the assistant also showed us a number of other seats. Our daughter found that the straps on one of the ones showed to us dug into her neck and another one she said she wanted to get off straight away (to me that implied she didn't find it comfy). A car seat for all ages

Advantages: Good price, very long life, good looking, safe and comfortable, easy to install.
Disadvantages: recline feature not usable in my car, adjustable sides dont stay in place

...it would stay in one car for a large percentage of the time, I wanted it to be easy to move on the odd occasions it was needed in another vehicle. As I was not looking to buy a second car seat for a second vehicle, I was happy to spend a bit more money, so my budget was perhaps a little larger. EVOLVA - GREAT ACTION GAME

Advantages: Great graphics, playable on the internet, easy to play
Disadvantages: Need high spec machine with good 3D graphics card & accelerator

...EVOLVA is a great action game and realy adventerous. You control 4 Geohunters each one with different attributes such as speed, agility, strength and intelligence. All 4 serve different purposes in the game. The game play is smoothe and flowing and the 3D graphics are awesome. You will however need a fairly hi spec computer to run it on and plenty of memory. You will also need a good 3D graphics card to get the best from the graphics. The game can be played alone or on-line with others. I have found the game an excellent escape from reality when I need to chill out, that's if I can get my children off it first....

Advantages: Very secure, easy to fit and comfortable

...This is a great car seat if safety is your main concern. We went to look at this car seat after reading an article about car seat crash tests, where this seat scored the highest for safety. When we tried it out we could see why. The seat clips onto Isofix points in the car. These are fitted into newer cars, and Britax publish a list of approved cars on their website so you can check if yours is suitable. Once the seat was fitted, we could actually move the car just by pulling on the seat, it was so securely attached! The seat also has seatbelt routings, in case you need to swap it to a car without Isofix points, and it seems pretty secure this way as well. In terms of comfort, my baby seems very comfy and will happily fall asleep in the seat. The seat reclines, but the lever for adjusting the recline is behind the seat...

...I had previously used the Britax first-stage car seat which came with our travel system, and my daughter always seemed very comfortable and secure in it. So, when she outgrew it, we looked at several brands, but we did have confidence in Britax already. However, what swung the decision for us was safety - we looked at the encap safety ratings, and when you use the Isofix points in your car, this seat was the best in our price range. It can be used with a seatbelt also, however, and still comes highly rated. Isofix relates to anchor points which are fitted in your car - rather than using the seatbelt, you connect the seat straight into these points. Apparently a lot of seat-belt connected seats aren't fitted correctly, so we were keen to use this system. We actually contacted Britax by phone to make sure that we could use...

Advantages: rock solid in car- so safe!

...We bought this as we had previously been using the Britax isofix cosy tot premium and had been very pleased with it. We bought it from kiddicare.com for £130 in "harold" which was a blue with small white spots. When it arrived the straps have nice chunky padding bits on them which do make it harder for the child to get their arms out of- this is a common problem with the odler age carseats! The seat in itself does not feel really padded like some other carseats but it is padded enough and can recline enough for my daughter to sleep in. Admitedly it would be nice if it could recline more but she does not seem to mind at all! Once it is fitted in the car ( which is done very easily) it is rock solid and is so much safer than your average seatbelt types. The bonus with this seat though is that it can also be used with seatbelts! Overall...

...Having looked far and wide for car seats, i chose this one because it used the Isofix system, which is compatible for my car. Having seen tests where in an accident, car seats shift or even become untethered from the belt due to the force, i decided to give the Duo a try. Its safer than seat belt tethered seats, because its actually attached to the seat its self by a locking mechanism in the back of the car seat. It also has a reclining feature and has deep side wings giving support should your child fall asleep. However, it does not fit all models of cars so check the britax website. They come in a variety of covers to try and match the decor of the interior of your car. Well built, solid and robust, what parent wouldn't want the safest and robust car seat for their child.
