...i personally found traveling with british airways from london to madrid, which i am basing this review on, an enjoyable experience. the staff where polite and seats were leather and were perfectly comefertable seat space was on par with the majority of other airlines. i highly recomend trying to sit next to the emergancy exits as you get a lot more leg room. the food on this short flight was surprisingly good quality, as i was flying at lunch they gave us simple plain but good quality healthy sandwiches. Far better then what i was previously used to of the horrible cooked meals. i also quite liked how the pilots would often update us. My only real complaint with british airways is that no form of entertainment seems to be provided on the shorter flights, which can make it at times a little dull. British Airways : Surprisingly Average

Advantages: On demand TV, complimentary bar service
Disadvantages: Drinks trolley brought around once on 7 hour flight, not enough food brought on so little choice

...I booked flights with British Airways when there was a ridiculously good offer on flights from Manchester to New York JFK for £252 return. Our party was made up of four adults and we took advantage of the online check-in in order to choose our seats and speed up the process at the airport. We flew World Traveller class, which is nice way of saying economy. It was a decent size though, we had picked seats in the cabin nearest the back, which I wouldn't do again knowing now that turbulence feels worse towards the back of the aircraft. I'm a nervous flyer at the best of times and I particularly hate turbulence. We had a little welcome pack on our seats when got on the plane which consisted of sleep mask, flight socks, toothpaste and face wipes etc. which I thought was nice, to go with our blanket and pillow. British Airways - surprisingly good

Advantages: very efficient, nice food, free drinks, good service
Disadvantages: none that i found

...I have only flown a few times in my life and never with British Airways. I have just been on honeymoon to Cyprus and the flights were with BA. The flight was part of the package booked so we had no choice in who we were flying with and also have no idea of the cost. My experience of flying with them was great so I wanted to share it. British Airways..revamped

Advantages: Improved Aircraft
Disadvantages: a little cramped but no worse than other economy seats

...*** I have added an amendment to this Op towards the end of this page *** I flew with BA in September 1997, we got a great deal flying BA from Gawick to Orlando on their 'City of Plymouth' Boeing 747-200 seated in the upper deck.. However our first flight of the day was a British Airways Express flight from leeds/Bradford to Gatwick which we purchased at a special price of £19 return which was absolutely excellent for BA.. the flight from Leeds Bradford was in an ATR42 twin prop and the food and service on board was fabulous, we though if this is the standard then its going to be better than Virgin Atlantic( whom we normally fly with )....sadly how wrong we were going to be on this thought.. when we got into the 747 at Gatwick we were allocated seats in the upper deck, I looked forward to this but the seats were close together...

...I have now flown with British Airways about 15 times both long and short haul flights, so thought I?d review how I think they are doing. British Airways fly to most destinations and are one of the world?s largest airlines. I have flown to several destinations in the States, South Africa and numerous countries in Europe. I have on the whole been very satisfied with the service I have received. Before travelling I always do my research on the Internet to check for the cheapest fares. British Airways often come out as cheapest. I also prefer to fly direct if possible and again British Airways often offer this. Like most airlines B.A?s pricing structure is a very complicated one! I have found that if you book early you often pay a lot less. Don?t assume that a fare you are offered in one travel agent will be the same everywhere-it won...

Disadvantages: Too many things can go wrong and lack of proper training

...Having worked in the customer relations side department for just over a year, I gained a great insight into what the company can do wrong and how they can get it right. Dealing with predominantly post travel issues, I found that the majority of problems for passengers were around luggage, in flight services such as entertainment or catering and customer service. There are many other issues such as rude staff, cancelled flights etc. British Airways does make mistakes, only because there are so many things that could go wrong. Think of a chain, if one link breaks the chain crashes. For a British Airways experience to be faultless all the chains have to work together, from the ground staff, baggage handlers and flight crew. British Airways for me very time

Advantages: more leg room, comfy seats polite attendants

...I have flown with British Airways three times now, and I do definately think they are the best airline I at least have travelled with. The last time I had the pleasure of a flight with British Airways, was on the 8th January this year 2009. My husband and I travelled to Malaga from Gatwick. We used to British Airways website which is extremely quck and easy to use, and I found that the flights were extremely reasonable in comparrison with cheaper airlines. We paid £200 for the two of to fly on that date and return to Gatwick on the 12th January 2009. There are all sorts of options on the website to make your flight easier. I chose my own seats, and 24 hours before the flight was due to leave,I checked in on line and printed out the boarding tickets, thus saving time queing at the airport. British Airways Actually Quite Good

Advantages: pleasant, food onboard, check in quite easy
Disadvantages: seating not always good

...Before even going to the travel agents I was going to make up my own holiday like many people are now doing by booking your own flights online, your own hotel. I looked at Easyjet but noticed for once they were not as cheap as usual and flying a more prestigious airline was more worthwhile than the money I would be paying for British Midland or British Airways. So I typed in my departure city and destination and had a rough price but was still not fully convinced with the price so I had to go to my travel agents. So as I sat down at the travel agents I was talked through the flights and it came to roughly £200 for two return flighs to Paris which I thought as really good. British Airways oversells business class

Advantages: Great way to throw any unwated cash
Disadvantages: Attempts to evade European law to avoid refunds.

...3 months ago, I paid £3650 (approx $6387 USD) to British Airways to fly business class, full flat bed service from London UK to Cape Town SA. They decided not to provide me with the service that I had paid for, and have since lied and altered their story to avoid paying an acceptable refund. On trying to complete an online check in 20 hours before departure, I received an error message saying that I couldn't check in online and could only check in personally. This I did in good time and was surprised to be told that there wasn't a seat available for check in and I had to wait for "seat allocation". 20 minutes before take off, it was confirmed to me that "due to the malfunction of a first class seat", that first class passenger had been downgraded to my seat and I was being downgraded. Being a late evening flight, it was left too late...
