Brittania music club, WHAT A DISGRACE!

Disadvantages: delays open delays, stock outages, poor customer service, do not care about their customers

...My experience with BClub has been disgusting! When I first joined brittania, I found their service to be amateur at best, delays in getting the order to me, frequent stock outages, customer services came across as if they didn't care about their customers! Emailing customer services, I never obtained a response! Call queues, were upto 35 minutes at a time! I was classed as an elite member, which gave me 10% off all orders and free P & P, i would of thought they would of treated their customers better than this. The only explanation I obtained for the poor service was, they were experiencing technical difficulties moving their operation back to the UK from overseas, my god, they should of planned this better! ...If I have never used a product and have no intentions of using a product unless something drastically changes, am I qualified and allowed to write an opinion on said product? Given that it is only my opinion then I reckon I should be allowed to do this. You may disagree , but what the hell. One of my mates signed up with them , in the days of vinyl, and it was basically buy one get five or so free and you pay postage and packing. When is Deletion not a Deletion

...My wife joined Brittania Music Mail order about 6 months ago. Her joining was probably a down to her being drawn to the incredibly cheap prices on first purchase. She duly received box of goodies and was pleased with them. I told her we will never get rid of them and so it has proved. Brittania sned magazines through the post every 2 to 3 weeks and say will send a selected CD within 14 days unless we cancel. That is fair enough, I knew this would happen. I have since made a habit of cancelling these automatically selected CD's. This has been no problem, until recently. I cancelled the latest Backstreet Boys CD some 3 weeks ago and believe it or not 3 weeks later I was on phone again to cancel the next CD that we were due to receive. To my amazement, the Backstreet Boys CD was still awaiting dispatch, despite my having cancelled it...

...Brittania Music is as good or as bad as any other Music Club there is. Common sense tells us that nobody gives anything away for free. What is that old saying ? "If it sounds too good to be true ...it probably is!" Words to remember. It's an advertising ploy, and the idea is to sell you cd's. Some people have a great relationship with them, no problems. Others have some kind of horror story. A guy who lived in a different flat but in the same building, as me, had moved and for about six months there were these selections coming through to the house still for him. Now, if he wasn't getting these cd's, that tells me he wasn't paying for them either, so why would this company keep on sending cd's month after month? ...When Brittania Music first came along, they provided a much need needed service, especially to those people who were into "Alternative" types of music not stocked by the likes of Woolworths etc. This was great for the 70's and early 80's where folk had difficulty in obtaining back catalogue stock etc. We are now in the 21st Century and it's about time Brittania caught up with everyone else. With the advent of the internet and teh introduction of a multitude of on-line stores, Brittania are lagging well behind. They still insist on charging for post and packaging, they still insist on sending out the "Editor's Choice" which is usually an ablum that had been released approx. 3 months earlier, and refuse to accept blame for any losses.
