Brother HL5240 laser printer

Advantages: Good all round laser printer, loads of pros

...General & price: WOW, what a brilliant printer this is. Another great laser from Brother. I have had this printer for quite a few months now. I bought it for around £150 but the prices come anywhere between £140 and £220 from verious online retailers or some high street stores. There is so much i could say about this printer but it would take me ages to write it all and i'm not sure if i can handle it all. But i will right all the important parts. Bang on your drum

Advantages: Cheap and cheerful

...I own a Hohner LEX 5-piece drum kit. I bought it a couple of years ago for £300. This included Hi-hats and a crash/ride cymbal. This drum kit is a standard 5 piece kit, consisting of a bass drum, a floor tom, two mid toms and a snare. Included was a snare stand, and a cymbal stand. For the price the kit is surprisingly well made, with the insides of the drums smooth, and the outside finished in a shiny black laquer. There is a label on each of the drums with the make, Hohner, the model, LEX, and saying that it was made in Taiwan. All of the hardware, with the exception of the snare stand is sturdy. ...I had this kit bought for me on my 21st Birthday after being let down by the ION ED01 kit a few years previous. This kit is fantastic, admittedly a little too expensive but you still get a good sound, a nice drumming experience and a generally very responsive all round kit. The pre-sets are great, the ability to set up double-bass is wicked, the metronome is an added bonus and the coolest thing of all is the ability to jack your own music straight into the kit from your computer or other music device. There are several slots open on the end of the list of pre-set kits for you to build your own kits as well, which I've done loads of times, really fun! All round great kit for intermediate players and easy to move and store :)...

FANTASTIC BROTHER HL-1230 BLACK & WHITE LASER PRINTER

Advantages: TOTALLY RELIABLE, VERY ECONOMICAL, UNOBTRUSIVE

...My daughter bought this printer for her office (she does accountancy & bookkeeping) about SIX years ago. She upgraded to a more powerful model after two years (Brother of course) and we now have the original as the main printer for the main home computer - it is black and white, but we don't have any call for colour. Having, in the past had FOUR so-called excellent printers, by HP, Lexmark, et al , which required ink cartridges, I can only say that the Brother HL-1230 leaves them all standing at the starting gate. It is only on its second toner cartridge and we do a fair amount of printing. There is also the fact that with a laser printer there are no ink cartridges to dry out. The initial monetary outlay may be a little more but is more than compensated for by not having to buy ink cartridges, which do not last anywhere...

...I got this drum set about a year ago, it's my first drum kit and i have to say quite good for the price. set up is easy if you follow the well drawn book, just a matter of attaching some clamps putting poles in and tightening things, the control box for this is a bit too complicated for my liking and the instructions for that don't help either. The drum pads: the drum pads are all the same size and can be positioned wherever you want on the kit, they are also touch responsive which makes for a more realistic feel. Drum pedals: the drum pedals are way too sensitive you have to either have your foot pushed hard down on it or not on it at all and when you do want to play it you just push them the lightest bit.
