...Having recently started my own business, i was on the look out for a good value fax machine. Having had a Brother fax machine at my previous job i was impressed by its reliablilty and the cost of consumables. Whilst looking at rival fax machines, i could not find one that matched the excellent specification or price. The printer can be used as a multifunction device, however i only utilise it as a fax machine. However i have the back up that if one of my printers breaks down i can use the machine as a back up it could also be used as an emergency scanner or photocopier, although you can only feed sheets through it, so its use is limited on these points. The only slight niggle i have with the machine is that it does not seem to like my cheap copy paper that i use, and it sometimes requires that i only have one sheet in the feeder...

BEAST of a printer, scanner, fax & copier (phew!)

If you did then you probably deserve a medal, but then so would 'Brother' for managing to cram so many features and uses into one device. Oh Brother!

Advantages: Does everything except make me a cup of tea
Disadvantages: None I can think of yet!

Another function on the faxing is that the machine can fax from file so it does not actually need a hard copy in order to get a good faax. I have not done this but my hubby did and he said that it was quite easy and the recipient got a good copy. So it does everything it says on the box. But what about ink and the cost of replenishing the ink supply? I thought that because this is a Brother 4 in 1 machine that it would be really expensive but I have been proved wrong. The printer comes with 4 separate catridges - black, blue, red and yellow. The cost over here to replace them is 10 Euros each which works out at around £7 a cartridge. So thats 40 Euros or £27/28 to replace all 4 in one go. And thats for generic Brother cartridges - there are compatible ones out there...

Oh Brother, what a pile of poo

Advantages: looks like it could withstand a baseball bat attack

...I use this fax machine at work and it is the cause of so much stress and tension I thought I would let you all know how I was beaten by such a plain, dull and basically annoying machine that jams on a regular basis, smudges fax transmissions and forgets to send certain important pages at random. If you wanted to buy a Brother FAX 8360P and I would urge everyone reading not to it would cost around £230 and for that you get the fax machine, a network cable to hook it up to your LAN and a lead to plug it into the phone network to enable transmissions. We have had our Brother FAX 8360P for 6 months and the problems started pretty much straight away and the instruction manuals FAQ are about as much use as a chocolate fireguard, as it the manufacturers support. A Horrible Fax Machine!

...I warn my readers that this could be a raging review since I just threw this fax machine into the bin. Not only it costed me more than £30 two years ago but for the little times I've needed it it hardly worked properly.
