...***Film Only Review*** Last night I sat down to watch Step Brothers after being told by a friend, who has a similar sense of humour to me, that it was pretty funny and worth a watch. Story ------- Brennan (Will Ferrell) and Dale (John C Reilly) are two 40 year old who still live at home with their parents. Dale's dad and Dale have been living together Dales' whole life, Dale doesn't work and loves the lifestyle of being able to do what he wants when he wants, especially jamming on his drum kit. Brennan is a slightly more sensitive character having been raised by his mother his whole life and likes still being looked after even though he is middle aged. It is shown in England on Channel 4 and more recently on E4. It first came out in September 2006 and as of September 2008 they are now in their third series. Brotherly Love

Advantages: Gripping and great entertainment
Disadvantages: If you were picky you could pull holes in the plot

...be a western if it was not situated in modern day Detroit. From having four rough brothers returning back to town, the beloved mother and plenty of shoot outs as well as chases, everything about "Four Brothers" reminded me of a really good old fashioned western. Well with that in mind it would be hypocritical of me to say the plot was in any way original, heck I reckon there must be hundreds if not thousands of films which use a similar plot line to drive the entertainment onwards. But what "Four Brothers" manages to achieve where other fail, is to make the whole thing feel fresh and exciting with a perfect balance of action, emotion, humour and a storyline which throws you around a bit, keeping you guessing, before setting you down on a path to what is in all reality a predictable outcome. ...This is a flm only review and is not about the DVD. Four Brothers is an excellent gritty film that I watched on Film 4 a couple of nights ago, it has a strong cast and a pretty good story line that focuses on family relationships and the quest for revenge. The four brothers in the title are all adopted and are bought back together to the city of Detroit one winters day for the funeral of their foster mother who provided them with a loving home and precious childhood memories in a rough working class area. The mother has been killed in a convenience store robbery while she was shopping for groceries and the thre of the brothers vow to get revenge despite the close attention of the local police to whome they are well known. Brother Bear or Moose!

Advantages: Excellent film, stunning animation & voiceovers, there's 2 moose in it!
Disadvantages: Didn't get rated as highly by others as it should've been
