...Everyone has an opinion on Big Brother, regardless of whether you watch it or not. For some, it's entertaining. For others, it's pointless TV, watched by idiots, which is taking up time and money which could be used on other shows. ~~~ What's it About ? ~~~ Basically, a group of everyday people are put into a house which is completely covered by televsion cameras and microphones. Review of Channel 4 - Big Brother

Brothers and Sisters

Advantages: Great drama show, secrets, lies

...and look for help from the family. This show really makes me wish for a big family with lots of brothers and sisters. They are all there for each other and even though they bicker and fall out most of the time they have such a deep love for each other that it is great to see. The show is serious and does cover some serious topics but I feel it is done in quite a lighthearted way most of the time. It is very funny in places too. Usually when one of them has some gossip they are straight on the phone to another sibling who then puts that person on hold as they have an incoming call from another sibling!! The family business features in the show quite a lot as well, Ojai foods, which distributes produce. Ojai is actually a place in California, up the coast, fairly near Santa Barbara and is beautiful. ...***Film Only Review*** Last night I sat down to watch Step Brothers after being told by a friend, who has a similar sense of humour to me, that it was pretty funny and worth a watch. Story ------- Brennan (Will Ferrell) and Dale (John C Reilly) are two 40 year old who still live at home with their parents. Dale's dad and Dale have been living together Dales' whole life, Dale doesn't work and loves the lifestyle of being able to do what he wants when he wants, especially jamming on his drum kit. Brennan is a slightly more sensitive character having been raised by his mother his whole life and likes still being looked after even though he is middle aged. Brother Bear or Moose!

Advantages: Excellent film, stunning animation & voiceovers, there's 2 moose in it!
Disadvantages: Didn't get rated as highly by others as it should've been

Advantages: As close as it gets to the real thing?

...of shrapnel and splintered trees upon the Americans. I've always marvelled at 1998's Saving Private Ryan and have it earmarked as one of my favourite movies of all time. Especially the opening hour that covers the D-Day landing sequence. I wondered how we would ever get a more realistic accounting of fighting in WWII. Spielberg has done it again with Band of Brothers. Although, as is the case with almost all war movies, it is a bit difficult at first to discern the identities of different soldiers who start off as an amorphous khaki bunch, and to become familiar with their personalities, but I quickly fell in line and empathised with favourite characters. If you wondered about the inspiration for the title of this series, wonder no more: ?From this day to the ending of the world, ...we in it shall be remembered, ...we band of brothers...

Four Brothers is an excellent gritty film that I watched on Film 4 a couple of nights ago, it has a strong cast and a pretty good story line that focuses on family relationships and the quest for revenge. The four brothers in the title are all adopted and are bought back together to the city of Detroit one winters day for the funeral of their foster mother who provided them with a loving home and precious childhood memories in a rough working class area.
