Brother dcp115c printer, scanner, copier

Advantages: Excellent value for money
Disadvantages: Flimsy , need to handle with care

...headings make finding the relevent pages quick and the straight foreward language and diagrams make these guides simple to use , even for a novice like me!! I feel however that there are a few disadvantages to this machine. The first is that the machine has rather a flimsy feel especially the lift up top for the photocopier and scanner which isn't particularly robust. The second problem is the ink cartridges, these are all individual ie. a seperate cartridge for black, cyan, magenta and yellow. The cost for ink therefore can be expensive. Brother ink cartridges are not also as easy to purchase on the high street as some other makes although they can be purchased on the internet and i did notice yesterday that tesco has just started to sell the black cartridge for this machine. Brother HL5240 laser printer

Advantages: Good all round laser printer, loads of pros
Disadvantages: very few, if any

...General & price: WOW, what a brilliant printer this is. Another great laser from Brother. I have had this printer for quite a few months now. I bought it for around £150 but the prices come anywhere between £140 and £220 from verious online retailers or some high street stores. Printer Breakdown Nightmare.

Advantages: Stylish, easy to use, slimline, space saving, very cheap inks
Disadvantages: broke down, JUST after WARRENTY had run out, colour print speed

...About a year ago I bought a Brother DCp 117c, which is allmost idetnical to the Brother DCP 117c. The unit itself worked very well, and was very simple to use and understand. That was WHILE it worked. JUST after the warrenty ran out, the print quality started to decrease, untill it could not print at all. We were told by a printer expert that the print head had broken. Addmittedly the printer had been used regularly for document printer and photocopying, but only the kind of use to be expected for such a machine. (After all it is advertised as an office product) Although Brother customer service were helpful; and took the printer away free of charge for repair, the bill was going to be £134! FANTASTIC BROTHER HL-1230 BLACK & WHITE LASER PRINTER

Advantages: TOTALLY RELIABLE, VERY ECONOMICAL, UNOBTRUSIVE
Disadvantages: NONE

...My daughter bought this printer for her office (she does accountancy & bookkeeping) about SIX years ago. She upgraded to a more powerful model after two years (Brother of course) and we now have the original as the main printer for the main home computer - it is black and white, but we don't have any call for colour. Having, in the past had FOUR so-called excellent printers, by HP, Lexmark, et al , which required ink cartridges, I can only say that the Brother HL-1230 leaves them all standing at the starting gate. It is only on its second toner cartridge and we do a fair amount of printing. There is also the fact that with a laser printer there are no ink cartridges to dry out. The initial monetary outlay may be a little more but is more than compensated for by not having to buy ink cartridges, which do not last anywhere...

Review of Step Brothers

Brother DCP-115C / DCP110C

Advantages: high quality prints
Disadvantages: far too many errors and problems..

...My first DCP-110C lasted just over 6 months and was replaced by the newer model DCP-115C. All seemed fine and dandy until around 10 months later started having problems again. This printer is a superb all rounder and creates brilliant pictures WHEN IT WORKS.. Had my first printer not been replaced I certainly wouldnt go for a brother again. I was attracted to it due to the cheap inks available as my last printer a Lexmark (which was simply amazing) was just far too expensive for ink. The DCP-115C keeps failing every so often and when you are lucky enough to get it working(when its in a good mood) you will be pleased with its results. The main fault I am getting now (again) is with the inks. It wont accept new inks for some reason and I have tried numerous cartridges and searched Brothers site for help yet nothing is working yet again...

Brother Make Excellent Printers

Advantages: Good workhorse producing quality print at a reasonable price
Disadvantages: Newer models have seperate drum and toner so price for these parts tend to be high

...I have used Brother Laser printers in the course of work for some years now and can only say that they are great. The older models such as the Brother HL8E are fantastic work horses and just keep on going and going producing very good quality print at a very low cost per page. The newer models such as the HL-760 are also excellent however have one drawback when compared with the older models. The newer models have a toner and a seperate drum. The older models had the two things combined, yes the toner on the newer models is cheaper but when you need a drum and combine this with the toner the cost is much higher than with the combined older model. This aside I would still highly recommend these machines. They are easy to use, problems which are few and far between are easy to sort and you can contact Brother technical for advice...

...Recently, brother have been re-designing their printers and their all in ones. This HL4040CN, has just been re-designed and now looks better and works better. The design shape of this, is basically a big box. And it is big because this printer is for an high end personal use or for medium class office work. So therefore it has to be able to cope with a lot of work. Even though this is a box shape, it still looks somewhat cool. Its panels of blue and silver do this and it does looks really modern. From the front of the machine, a blue panel fold down. This is a 50 sheet multi purpose tray, and directly below this tray is another, this one holds a massive 250 sheets of paper, and this is the main paper feed for printing off documents. At the top of the printer is where the printed documents come out, this is easier to collect...
