Bt Calypso 225 Twin
Advantages: Easy to set up and use
Disadvantages: Not any that stand out
...I have had this phone for about a week or so and I think that its fantastic, I ordered it from BT's online shop when my old phone decided it had had enough. It set me back £109.99 but remember this is for two handsets not just one. I thought it seemed quite expensive but one of my friends has one and said that she had never had a problem so I thought I would take her word for it. It is in all honesty a really good set of handsets with some great features. It has been a few years since I have bought a landline phone and I was surprised at how far along they have come. My last one was very basic with very few features, these new ones are more like modern mobiles, I couldn't believe how much they have changed.
I bought the twin set so I got two handsets but from the same place you can buy a single handset for £69.99, set of three...

BT Calypso 225 Tasty if a bit Tacky
Advantages: Good Price & a great looking phone
Disadvantages: Cheap & nasty with buttons that are too small
...I bought these phones as part of a triple pack from an online site that deals with returns from catalogues.
I have always wanted DECT phones, as they are far more flexible than ones you have to plug in. You see with a DECT phone all you need to do is plug one into your main phone socket, so in your hall then all the others need is an electrical plug as the signal is transmitted thought your home. I had heard that this was a compromise on the quality of the sound but not the case as these little phones have superb reception
The Calypso 225 has an answering machine with a maximum of 16 minutes recording time, & the facility for caller information to be displayed as long as you sign up with BT for it. This cost around a fiver a quarter but I always know when my mother in law is calling so it's well worth it :-)

Stylish, Pricey, & Sweaty Ears?
Advantages: A wide range of special features not available on other phones.
Disadvantages: Not for fat fingers and a price to flinch at.
...If you are reading this then you, like me, saw the BT Calypso (Triple) in a shop or catalogue and are very tempted. Bursting with all those extra features, it seems like the crème de la crème of phones ? but the price reflects this and restrained me from buying this phone ? until about a month ago. With my old one slowly packing up, and then discovering a BT Calypso Triple ?buy-it-now for £89? on e-bay, I almost kissed the courier when he finally delivered it to my door.
But now the honeymoon period is over, and here is what I think.
Well, sharpen your finger tips people, cos this phone has small keys.
And is it a proper house phone? Or a mobile phone wannabe? It is only approx 12 cm long.
However, saying that, I haven?t miss-dialled yet, and though the keys are small for a house phone, they are bigger than my mobile, which I...

Come join the Calypso fun.
Advantages: Easy to use, protection for the body and the scalp, ideal for thin or balding hair.
Disadvantages: None except choosing the right factor.
...sun bathing. The last time I went abroad to Rhodes in Greece I decided that a pale golden glow was preferable to risking skin cancer so I decided to take a range of different products with me but where would I start when I wanted to use different factors? My partner at that time was older than me and burnt easily in even the mildest of sun so the dual bottles of different factors were not suitable for us both.
The answer came in a most unusual way, we were shopping in Matalan for extra summer clothes and came upon a range of sun products called Calypso a brand neither of us had heard of before. I was a bit hesitant about trying it as I always thought the big brand names were the best but there so many different collections in this range that we decided to try it out.
On offer at £10 a set we chose one which contained a factor 6...

CALYPSO HOTEL(SALOU)REVIEW
Advantages: Very friendly and helpful staff Lovely pools
Disadvantages: food a bit naff..Room too small ..Lots of noisy Spanish people,
...We stayed at the Calypso Hotel in Salou for a 7night trip. On our arrival (10pm) we were politely dealt with by the reception staff. We were put on the top floor of the older building (This was OK for myself and my husband and 12 month old baba , but I wouldn't want to stay on this floor with young children. The lifts were good, and they always worked, and even though they only held 4 people, we didn't have to wait long.
Our room was way too small really, and it had very dated furniture and an uncomfortable bed. We had lots of storage space for clothes etc. This room slept 4, but I wouldn't want to stay in it with any more than 2 people.
The bathroom was brilliant, and it was very very clean. The shower was excellent, and we were supplied with clean towels and toilet rolls every day. I wish I could have a shower as powerful as...

Ancient Empires - Thomson Calypso
Advantages: Excellent itinery, well organised tours
Disadvantages: Poor service and facilities onboard
...The Thomson Calypso is the latest addition to Thomson's cruise fleet. It is the smallest Thomson ship, and is an 'adults only' ship. It has everything you would expect from a cruise ship: restaurant, informal dining, shops, a beauty salon, bars, a gym, sundeck, and pool. At over £100 per night Thomson cruises are not especially cheap, and the brochure promises personal service and plush facilities.
Having previously cruised with Thomson on Celebration, I must admit to being sceptical when I read the numerous poor reviews of Calypso on various websites. Having now cruised aboard Calypso I am forced to admit that previous reviewers were absolutely right.
Thomson promise a more personal style of service aboard the 'intimate' Calypso. The atmosphere amongst guests was certainly pleasant, but a relatively low ratio of staff to guests...

Easy baking with Calypso Dry Oil Spray
Advantages: Affordable, easy to use
Disadvantages: Slightly greasy (but it is Oil!)
...I've already done a review on the Calypso After Sun spray and I am a huge fan of their products.
It's that time of year again, and we are off on Holiday at the end of June. I've already started shopping for Holiday bits and bobs and one of my necessities is Calypso Dry Oil spray. My holiday is not complete without it!
I first used Calypso Dry Oil spray in January of this year when we went to Lanzarote. My boyfriend tans easily and quickly but as we were only going for a week, he decided to buy some Oil before we went, to speed up the 'baking' process!
We had previously used Piz Buin Tanning Oil. This was in a normal bottle, rather than a spray and went everywhere. By the end of the Holiday, the oil was everywhere and has sand encrusted around the top. The bottle dripped and leaked in our beach bag, all over our towels...

Calypso saved my legs...!
Advantages: Handy spray, no mess, instant effects
Disadvantages: None!
...again.
So, the next time I went away was with my current partner, 5 years ago, when I was 19. Ironically, we ended up going to Corfu (and the Holiday was much better than with my parents!).
As I hadn't been abroad for 5 years (and there's barely any sun in Manchester), my skin had become very fair. A couple of weeks before going away, we went to our local shopping centre and had a browse in the Pound Store, for Holiday necessities such as toothpaste and Shampoo. That is when we came across the 'Calypso' range of Sun Lotion and After sun. As this was a Pound Store, I'm sure you can guess what they were priced at!
Before seeing the Calypso range, I had never really even thought about Sun Lotion?.I'd never burnt in the past, I saw no reason as to why I would now. However, my boyfriend - being the sensible one - said we should...

BT HOME HUB
Advantages: easy to use
Disadvantages: despite technical language (thankful for pictures)
...Bt home hub is an innovative idea to bring together all computers, phones, faxes etc through one small box. It can also be connected to your answering machine and house alarm systems.
It allows you to have a wireless connection to broadband through a USB connection that you put into your computer. Although the instruction booklet you get with it is full of technical language there is easy to follow pictures, so even if your rubbish with technology you should be able to set it up by yourself. They do have technical support should you require it.
You can access broadband in many places throughout the UK and Ireland. Anywhere where you see a BT openzone sign such as British Airways Airport Lounges, which is great if your often away on business. It means you can keep working right up until you board the aircraft. As part...

BT phone line.
Advantages: none
Disadvantages: totally unreliable.
...From our experience with BT they seem to have a policy of treating customers with utter contempt. Since we had our BT line installed last summer we've had constant problems with the phone line. About 5-6 times the line has cut off, gone completely dead. Even when it was working there was constant interference on the line. Calling BT (very expensive if you're forced to use a mobile) usually takes the best part of an hour to get through to a human being, at which point they will tell you there's nothing wrong with the line and it must be your fault. Eventually (after having been put through to countless different people) they agree to send someone out to fix it.. but we're usually left without a working phone for a week, there is no apology or explanation for why the line was cut off in the first place, and no refund for the money they...
