BT Diverse 6450 Twin cordless phone

Advantages: can send and recieve texts, has a calendar and time , large colour screen
Disadvantages: cannot send Premium rate texts

...found it very easy to set up and to use, the user guide hand book sets out everything in a straightforward manner and is easy to refer back to. I was able to set up my caller names list in the names directory without any help from my family,and to call someone from your list you just press te names button on the handsetand the list comes up,then scroll down to the name that you wantand press the call button it calls with no problems at all. I like the large colour screen and the ease of being able to send a text message from this phone,but you cannot send a premium rate text as BT don't allow this service as yet so i was very disappointed because i text a lot to enter competitions on the TV and online,so it means that i still have to use my mobile phone for this facility. You can choose a special ring tone for your family members...

BT Cordless Digtal Phone with Answer Machine....

Advantages: Looks smart, easy to operate, clear buttons
Disadvantages: Feel of being in an open space on the line!

...it. Keypad seems pretty solid and the letters haven't started to rub off yet and no buttons have broken or bits fallen off. Range of features: Good range of features. The answermachine is useful - and it is useful that you can access it from any of the phones not just the main base unit. The internal calling can be useful - I ring my fella downstairs to tell him to cook my tea without having to move from the PC (lol) Being able to transfer a call to another phone on the same line is also a good bonus. Again, if someone calls and the other person is nearer another phone you can pass it across to them - and talk to tell them who it is/ ask if they want to take the call. Reliability: As phones go (and they go go gone pretty quick in my history of cordless) this seems to be very reliable and hasn't run out of steam on me...

Disadvantages: totally unreliable.

...From our experience with BT they seem to have a policy of treating customers with utter contempt. Since we had our BT line installed last summer we've had constant problems with the phone line. About 5-6 times the line has cut off, gone completely dead. Even when it was working there was constant interference on the line. Calling BT (very expensive if you're forced to use a mobile) usually takes the best part of an hour to get through to a human being, at which point they will tell you there's nothing wrong with the line and it must be your fault. Eventually (after having been put through to countless different people) they agree to send someone out to fix it.. but we're usually left without a working phone for a week, there is no apology or explanation for why the line was cut off in the first place, and no refund for the money they...

...I have decided to change my house phone a while back and the bt glide was on top of my list for a while. It really seemed like a novel phone but the price tag of £199 put me off quite a bit. It was only recently that I saw the same phone for a fraction of the price on ebay and decided to buy it. It is slimline and has the glide opening and it kind of looks like a slightly larger than average mobile phone. The main advantage is that it comes with an answering machine but it doesn't take up that much space(answering machine is a must). When I received the phone, I expected to just plug it in and be away setting everything up. However, it did not work with my existing phone connections(which fitted) and I had to use the ones provided with the phone(this was no easy task as I have always had my wire running under the carpet...

Disadvantages: In order to receive Caller Display, Call Waiting or Call Minder you must subscribe to these first and a fee is payable quarterly. This is not shown clearly on the phone when buying.

...This is one of the best cordless phones I have had yet. It holds a large name and number directory of 50 so does not have a problem holding all your numbers if you know a lot of people. BT answer 1571 is available for free with BT and this phone can be set to show you when you have a message waiting instead of having to ring to find out. It does not have a good selection of rings but with it being a house phone, 3 ring melodies are adequate. (Ringer is also on the base). Channel selection on the handset to find the best reception, yet I have never had to use this as I have always received a good reception. Volume control and ringer volume on the handset (also connectable to base). This handset has a good standby time of 72 hours and talk time of 7 hours when fully charged. I feel this an adequate time as after all you want to take...
