...telling me a Lan cable had been unplugged.Damned if i had touched anything.I did a network connection check and it was all good so i had a look at the hub. The broadband light was a solid green as it should be,the ethernet light was solid too as it was recommended to use ethernet cables. The internet light was flashing as it should showing you were connected.I called BT customer service which is another mistake because they charge at national rates and rarely do you get a person you can understand.I was on the phone for half an hour while the guy took my computer over by remote and started dabbling.At this point he told me to reset the home hub,a small button on the back that you press for 15 seconds and it resets. The BT Home Hub

Advantages: Its free with some packages.
Disadvantages: It is abysmal.

...a standard BT corded line, and the internet call quality is appalling. If, instead, you want to use them for landline calls, be aware you must remember to dial '5' every single time you use it, and be aware it will ring long after a caller has stopped ringing the landline (inexplicably), and also that it will store hundreds of missed calls and constantly remind you until you delete ALL your call lists. Great. Network speed is also fairly slow at the best of times, with notable performance increases in LAN use when a different router is used, and the bloat software that accompanies the router is absolutely useless and very annoying. Instead of "This page cannot be displayed" you have the honours of seeing BT's "The BT HOME HUB cannot display our page". Do NOT buy under any circumstances....

Advantages: Multiple wireless and wired connections, Wireless phone.

...We decided to putchase the BT home hub option 3 package as we have mulitple PCs in the house and this enabled more than one to go online, I did no know what to expect from this product, but it fit the bill perfectly. The fact that this router enables 3 wired connections, multiple wireless and household phone dock instantly sounded appealing to me. Every person in my family is now able to use their own PC online with no trouble at all, we have 2 wireless connections, 1 usb connection and 1 LAN connection. No matter how many people are using a computer, the connection never lags, the wireless has a very long range which is another good feature of the hub. We have had the hub for about 7 months now, and never come across a single problem, as soon as the day we got it it was connect the cables, switch on, wait for the server to connect...

Advantages: reliable service

...I have found this product to be far superior than the first hub I had - I have never had any problems with the hub and service wise it is completely reliable. It was very easy to set up with an easy and fast guide to set up the hub and connect to the computer - the speed is excellent and connects great with the Belkin Wireless Pre - N products. It is very easy to update - the lights on the are very easy to understand and you know if your line is not connected properly. I haven't had to call BT because of service interruptions and would not have any qualms in recommending this product to anyone. I believe reliability is the key and I am willing to pay a bit more via a BT package to gain the good service....

...Bt home hub is an innovative idea to bring together all computers, phones, faxes etc through one small box. It can also be connected to your answering machine and house alarm systems. It allows you to have a wireless connection to broadband through a USB connection that you put into your computer. Although the instruction booklet you get with it is full of technical language there is easy to follow pictures, so even if your rubbish with technology you should be able to set it up by yourself. Advantages: Looks good, comes with a good deal from BT [broadband option 3].
Disadvantages: Poor wireless signal, not compatible with printers.

...The BT Home-Hub v2.0 may look chic and stylish in comparison to previous models, but personally I have not noticed any beneficial differences between the v2.0 and the v1.0. Despite numerous claims that the wireless signal is 'twice as strong as other wireless providers', I have no reason whatsoever to endorse this. In my medium sized flat, I only receive good, stable signal in the rooms adjacent to the Hub, and in other rooms the signal repeatedly disappears completely. One of the Hub's main selling points is the many various connections which it boasts, including 4 ethernet connections and a USB socket. Advantages: Neat, looks great, has everything you'd expect from a digital cordless phone.
Disadvantages: Not the cheapest on the market.

...We had the the BT Home Hub (Version 1.5) since early 2008 - following problems with the previous version we had since switching to wireless broadband with BT. We received both versions of the home hub free with the bt total broadband package. The version 1.5 Hub looks very neat and stylish and runs smoothly, however occasionally the hub will need a reboot. This is a simple operation performed by pressing a dedicated reset button located on the right hand sdie of the hub. Previous versions required the user to have to annoyingly unplug the hub and and then wait 30 seconds before re-powering it up. The hub usually retains the wireless settings configured by the user, although several times the firmware updates (automatically downloaded from BT) have caused a factory reset to the default installation configuration. ...I got the home hub when I moved house and wanted the internet. I was excited by the promise that it was a router, modem and telephone all in one and that it could sit on the side a work away nicely. It also looked quite nice so i had no problem having it on display. The adverts on TV made it out to be one of the best things since sliced bread and unfortunately for them they were way of the mark This is possibly one of the worst pieces of equipment that I have ever owned. It worked fine when I had it hooked up with the Ethernet cable but as my computer is tucked away in an office didn't help with the phone.
