AVOID BT MOBILE AT ALL COSTS!

...I joined BT Mobile in the fall of this year, attracted by their offer of a FREE Motorola V600 on a £19.99 per month tariff for 150 anytime minutes and 50 texts. Sounds good doesn't it?? I needed to port my number over to BT Mobile from T-mobile which it stated in the advert 'this can be done in 5-7 days. Well, this is where all the trouble started - read on! It took me THREE months to finally be able to contact someone to port over the number. I only managed this by complaining loads of times via e-mail to BT. You cannot get hold of anyone at the call centre to port your number over. If you are lucky enough to get someone, they will just pass the buck. The problems continued when BT started sending my bills charging me and EXTRA £10 per month and charging me for every text I sent, even though I was entitled to 50 free per month!! To...

Disadvantages: totally unreliable.

...From our experience with BT they seem to have a policy of treating customers with utter contempt. Since we had our BT line installed last summer we've had constant problems with the phone line. About 5-6 times the line has cut off, gone completely dead. Even when it was working there was constant interference on the line. Calling BT (very expensive if you're forced to use a mobile) usually takes the best part of an hour to get through to a human being, at which point they will tell you there's nothing wrong with the line and it must be your fault. Eventually (after having been put through to countless different people) they agree to send someone out to fix it.. but we're usually left without a working phone for a week, there is no apology or explanation for why the line was cut off in the first place, and no refund for the money they...

Advantages: easy to use
Disadvantages: despite technical language (thankful for pictures)

...Bt home hub is an innovative idea to bring together all computers, phones, faxes etc through one small box. It can also be connected to your answering machine and house alarm systems. It allows you to have a wireless connection to broadband through a USB connection that you put into your computer. Although the instruction booklet you get with it is full of technical language there is easy to follow pictures, so even if your rubbish with technology you should be able to set it up by yourself. They do have technical support should you require it. You can access broadband in many places throughout the UK and Ireland. BT : 'Now That's What I Call Broadband!'

Advantages: Free wireless router and phone, fast and reliable, excellent technical support, value for money!
Disadvantages: Too many options to speak to someone on the phone.

...and the new black hub is that there is no aerial on the outside of the new hub. It's very much how old mobile phones used to be until they started putting the aerial inside the phone. The benefits of the new black hub is that the signal strength is stronger therefore making wireless internet more reliable and faster. The phone comes in handy as you can make a phone call from practically any where in the house. The benefits of being with BT in the long run are excellent. They treat you for being a loyal customer and are always going out of their way to make sure you have the lastest hardware and software. The service is simply excellent, hence the title... ...confirmed there was a local network problem with my line and I was informed the problem would be passed on to an engineer to be dealt with. I was given the timetable of 5 days for this problem to be fixed. Also, I was given the option of having all incoming calls rerouted to a mobile phone number at no extra cost, a nice touch. As the problem was only crackling on the line I decided against this action and so was given the option for incoming callers to hear a warning that the line was faulty. Again I turned this option down, voice calls were not too bad it was Internet calls that were worst affected. I was given a phone number to call to check the process of the repair of my problem and told the Engineer would be around soon. I made the first call to the BT faulty line number on Monday evening, the 5 day response time I was given meant...

Broke my heart to leave BT

Advantages: The service is actually really good
Disadvantages: They don't give free phones

.... The bills are prompt, easy to understand and nicely presented. I have always been made aware of additional savings I could be making through a magazine that's enclosed. They have never messed up my direct debit and have never sent me a red bill. 3. The service is reliable. On cable if you hit redial, like as not the system doesn't cope and you've got to redial again. This never seems to happen on BT. 4. I had a fault on my line -- this is where the service either stands up or falls down. I reported the fault online, and was amazed to see their online reporting system actually testing my phoneline, and showing me (with some nifty graphics) where the fault was -- in this case in the nearest BT street cabinet. I was then able to nominate my mobile phone to take diverted calls from the home number (all at BT's expense) and received...

Having been a happy customer of Telewest (cable) for the past two years, i decided to switch to BT as they were offering BT Surftime, which allowed me to pay £14.99 a month for which i would recieve the following services: Phone Line Rental, Free answering service, itemised billing and unlimited internet surftime all evenings (after 6pm) and weekends. ...After having problems with my telephone / broadband / television provider i decided it was time for a change. I had been with with BT before when i first moved into my house and basically I just had a landline then and later added BT Broadband. My television service was from sky, the invoices that i was receiving at that particular time were equating to over £100 a month, thats why i left initially.
