...Having had several other brands of cordless dect phones which never seemed to last more than a year I decided to try a BT phone. The Synergy 4100 appealed to me as it had the features I was looking for, primarily a large phonebook, caller display and ability to transfer numbers to and from a mobile sim card. I didn't want an answerphone so didn't see the need to pay extra for phones with built in answering machines. I decided to go for the triple pack as we are getting an extension built and as my kids tend to leave the phone wherever they happen to be at the time of a call, three phones seemed like a good idea so I don't have to run around the (soon to be larger) house searching for the phone each time it rings! ...I found the synergy phone faulty when I discovered that there was no loudspeaker and display of calling number so I got a bit disappointed. I wonder on how I could spend my £60 on a phone that lacked these vital features but that was quite silly on me to purchase some thing without knowing the vital features. Isn't it better for me splash 60 doe on a normal mobile phone of nokia and Sony Eriksson phones? But I wonder if I could get such phones at that amount. Well I got enticed when I discovered that there is an SMS present so I have to get on with it. But the BT synergy phone has a bit advantage over the usual mobile phone in the sense that all the BT synergies are stronger and more lasting than the normal mobile phones. ...the synergy 2120 has an ample range of features, the only one which it lacks is hold music! the sound quality on the Synergy is also great. You will not hear any distortion untill you wander down the street which you are unlikly to do. The volume meter on the Synergy goes up to quite a high level. A basic facility which believe it or not some DECT phones are without!! The phone also has a built in phonebook so that any numbers that you cant remember or just for quick access to your favorite numbers can be found by presing a button. ...I bought this phone to replace an old anologue system, anyone that has had, or owns one of these will be aware of the problems with poor reception. I wanted to replace it and decided to go for a DECT phone, but which one?. A friend at work had just bought a BT synergy and said how good it was. I started the search and found the Synergy 500 Twin advertised at less than £80. I bought it. The phones do what they say. You can walk round the house whilst the reception remains crystal clear, it also works outside, my old analogue claimed it would but it was a joke. The BT Synergy 500 comprises a home base unit which is small and stylish, the second phone sits nicely in a small charging cradle and does not require to be plugged into a phone socket. ...Having suffered the humiliating experience of owning a brace of Philips Xalio Dect phones I saw a nice little BT job in my local store. The Synergy 2150 is a 2120 with a built-in answering machine. It is almost as small as a mobile phone and is not lacking on features. Hands free speakerphone is a great help when trying to type and talk at the same time, caller recognition with 50 number memory is useful, and sound quality is excellent. The acid test for a digital cordless is “can you actually use it at a distance from the handset?”. The answer is as clear as the speech quality of the BT Synergy - YES! It is an excellent little phone that does everything a DECT phone should. The Synergy 2150 also has a digital answering machine in the base station. It is controlled from the handset and has a capacity of 20 minutes recording time... Read review

...Buying a new phone : After the digital cordless Binatone phones packed up it was time to shop around for a replacement. I would not recommend buying the first phone you see in Argos or on the internet, it's best to go out down the High street to see what's in the shops (see what's cooking as they say), after all a house phone will be used daily and it's important to buy one that meets your requirements whether it's value, quality, weight, design etc. There was a few makes that we looked at including a smart Philips phone and a light weight Samsung but after a few coffees at Coffee Republic we decided to go for the digital BT Synergy 3105 phone. Advantages: Slim, light, modern design,
Disadvantages: Only 3 ringer melodies; No answerphone function; no speaker

...handset to the other handset. The clarity of sound on the phone is very good. Unfortunately there are only 3 ringer melodies and only one of those sounds like a standard phone ringing tone. There is a useful page facility which allows you to press a button on the base and it automatically makes the handset ring, allowing you to find it if lost. There are functions that my Binatone has that this Synergy does not. e.g. Setting different ringer melodies for the base and handset. Speaker function for the handset. But overall range and clarity of the Synergy is far superior to the Binatone. Overall I would recommend this phone. You can't beat BT as a manufacturer of home phones. I am currently looking for a Synergy 2150 (has built in answerphone) to link to my 2110.... Read review

...After looking and testing various models of cordless digital telephones I finally went for the 2120. My criteria was: compact design, digital quality and reasonable price. The BT synergy 2120 met all three requirements. I also like the neat design of the base unit which can sit discretely anywhere (bear in mind the telephone socket and external power supply required). The reception quality is good with the handset working easily at over 200m or up three flights of stairs indoors! The only drawback so far experienced has been the handset getting lost in the house because of the compact size.... Read review

...plugs  1 base unit with base plug and telephone wire  instructions  BT helpline information. Over all the box is good as every thing is wrapped properly so that nothing gets damaged. -The handsets- The handsets are really good, they don't do much as you can see buy reading the specs that ciao gives but they do just enough for us. The screen lights up blue whenever you use the handset so it is easy to see it, you can change the name of the handset so you could call one living room etc etc. There is a built in address book and instead of adding them all in manually you can get it to read a mobile sim card to get all the numbers you want. There are about 5 ringtones and different volumes of rings too. Over all the handset is easy to use and does every thing we need it to do. -Calling- What a phone should do... Read review

...We've had an answerphone at home for most of the last twenty years and so when our BT Response 123 plus stopped deleting messages I thought it was time to replace it. Off I went to Tesco where I found amongst the array of phones on offer a BT Synergy 4500 and at £59.99 it looked to be a decent deal. Most of the other phones appeared to come in 2's or 3's and I immediately thought "too confusing for me". The Synergy though, was a piece of cake to install - plug into the wall and plug in the connector and the phone was working. The only problem was that the instructions said "charge the battery for 24 hours before using" and so I had to disconnect the line whilst the battery charged. It is almost a mobile phone connected to the land line with an external range of 300m and an internal range of 100m - I could use it from my neighbours... Read review
