The BT Verve 450 Twin was what we bought, although I see from subsequent price searches, we 'were done' by Currys having been charged the full BT RRP of nigh-on 80 quid and during a January sale to boot. Good Looking Phones that do the Job

My first pick was a BT diversity set but the views on Ciao were all bad so I kept looking, The Verve 450 series caught my eye next because of its good look (glossy black finish)and feel (substantial weight and size) so after taking a careful look at the features and testing out the feel of the thing I took a chance and bought it,and Im pleased I did. The handsets have a good feel to them,strongly made and not too light, I hate a phone that feels too light in the hand. BT Answering Machine

Advantages: Cheap, looks good and is a BT product

It should also be very technically efficient and reliable. I expect that it will last a very long before any sort of mechanical fault occurs. I trust BT to deliver a top notch product every time. Disadvantages: Need a battery so you don't lose messages if there's a power cut (as it's digital)

...Yesterday I bought my third machine of this type. Don't get me wrong, it's not that it breaks easily. The dog chewed the wire on the first one but I'd had the second one for over four years. In that time I've dropped it, moved house and put it in storage and moved it around my current house several times. It has proved to be very sturdy and reliable (when the dog doesn't get it!!). This machine is a sort of mis-shaped square shape, 16cm x 12cm and is metallic grey in colour. It will go with most colour telephones and doesn't take up much room. It can also be wall mounted and screws and raw plugs come in the box. Advantages: sleek, shiny, lots of features
Disadvantages: don't mix it up with the TV remote

...very easy. Using it (answering machine) This couldn't be simpler. Rewind, skip, play. You can pick up messages by pressing play on the base, this plays them aloud, you can pick them up on the handset so only you hear them or (I like this bit) you can pick them up from any touch tone phone(once you have set up a pin number, default 0000) Overall Quite a few of the features on the phone are only available with a BT contract, which i don't have. At £34.99 you can't really go wrong though, all the other items on it cover the bases anyone could need in a phone. It looks pretty good, if a little like a TV remote. The quality of the calls I have made/received are very good but I am comparing that to my old phone which was dreadful. Reception is fine but i can only move about 15 meters from the base in my pad so its not much...
