I told him i wanted to cancel the policy and was told it will cost me £30 to do so and had the check to say it was illegal to have another policy with another company while having one with them. Then to add insult to injury they wanted proof from me that i was insured with another company..surely its none of their business. ...In September (sorry I lied to you earlier, it was not December - must have had a blonde moment) of last year, I got my renewal for my car insurance from the AA, guess what, it had gone up drastically. Now like everyone else, I find the average motorist is being hit hard enough with increases in tax and fuel without having to pay out over the top for car insurance. My renewal quote was for £467.00 this was for fully comp, curtesy car, protected no claims, legal cover and and excess of £100.00. ...Budget has a range of insurance products available. I will be concentrating on Budget Car Insurance as they are the insurers I have at the minute. When I bought my new car (a Porsche Boxster) I was worried about getting insurance as the car is group 17 and Im only 25. Although as a woman I thought I would get it a bit cheaper I found this wasn't the case. I used various online search sites to find the best cover but found confused.com to be the best. Conned People Budget

Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Too many

...Smart people DONOT budget. Be prepared to do all the work yourself, they dont fill in forms, they dont call you back and they couldnt find your policy if they were holding it in front of their face. My car was stolen, but wont have a hire car as my "stolen" car wasnt being repaired in the garage (eh) customer service speak very poor english and be prepared for a huge phone bill, i've got 6 different numbers and none of them recognise the claim number they gave me, have been on hold for half of my claim and hung up on whilst waiting. You wont get your premiums back if you have paid for the year even if you dont have the car anymore and you will have to pay a lump sum if you have paid by installments or cancel early. However you are invited to insure your new car with them under that policy - I dont think thats going to happen...

...I was with Budget for 6months, and the main reason why I went with them was I did not have the chance to phone around and get a better quote. I had just purchased a car of which I was due to collect the next day, so I needed insurance fast. I was a new driver (of 21yrs at the time) with an old car ('E' reg Metro) so I was charged around £700apr. I accepted that £700 was the average amount I would be charged for 'Third Party, Fire & Theft' insurance. That was until 6months after and I bought myself a new car ('S' reg Micra)and found out otherwise. ...I have now been with churchill car insurance for nearly 2 yrs. Since that time whenever i have had to contact them for changing over my policy, changing car details etc etc, if i have been on a mobile depending on how busy they are at the time, they will ring you back. And they actually do ring you back whent hey say they will, mostly within minutes of ending the call. They are the friendliest company i know, and i have been with a few. They actually do their job and try their hardest to find you the best possible services that they have to offer, and 9 times out of 10 they are the cheapest as they try to beat any like for like quote. An average car insurance company

Advantages: Quite cheap, good customer service
Disadvantages: Big premium for a few months after moving

...I am now into my third year Churchill Car insurance. I\'ve never really had any problems with them and they are always competitvley priced. My renewal this year was expensive but I rang them up and they got it down by £50 so I stayed with them. My second year they gave me 30% no claims discount for one year and my thrid year they have given me a discount of even more. However, when I moved house I was charged a £150 premium for three months because I was living in a worse area, but I understand that it can\'t be helped. This year I am paying in installments for the first time and I am quite impressed that the APR is only 10%. Some other companies do it for free, but as it works out it's only around £60 for the convienience of paying monthly for me, which I think is worth it. They also gave me discount on my Green Flag...

Car Insurance

...When it comes to car insurance, i'm afraid i'm a bit lazy. Don't get me wrong, i do have insurance but i haven't got the time to shop around and find not just the cheapest quote but also value for money. I've been driving for 9 years now and even when i've bought a new car. i've just gone along with the same company. A friend of mine told me i was stupid and could be saving money by getting quotes from other companies. But i was settled with what i already had. I was paying them for insurance and breakdown cover and in the 9 years i've only had to call them out once when the wife accidently left the light on on her sunblind and flattened the battery. ...Last september it weas time to renew my insurance again, i had a quote from express insurance brokers but decided to see if i could better there quote on the internet, i went onto a comparison site, i cant remember which one it scanned a lot of insurance quotes for me and came up with budget as the cheapest which was also cheaper than the quote that express insurance group had gotten me.
