...I recently bought one of these routers after my dlink blew up, I was told by a friend that buffalo made excellent wireless routers and he wasn't wrong, this router works brillantly. This router has wireless access, including 4 ports intergrated for any ethernet cable needs, its small and easy to place anywhere without it looking out of place, It has a 54mbps data transfer rate which is rather good for todays router standards, a 2.4ghz frequency band, which means it can be recieved over a good distance, but the distance can be changed using the easy browser setup. It has many data link protocols incluing Ethernet, Fast Ethernet. IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g. It also has many features to this device as, Firewall protection (never had a virus since using it), auto sensing per device, DCHP support, auto uplink, IGMP snooping...

Buffalo WBMR-G54 wireless router - a real buffalo?

Advantages: Reasonable price, easy to use, lots of advanced settings
Disadvantages: installation firewall issue, signal strengh only reasonable

...I bought this router from a local Argos shop at an emergency situation i.e. I want it now and therefore not at the best price - 49.99. Reason: My all singing and all dancing Dynamode R-ADSL-C4W-EG - wireless router had lost its main function, 'internet connectivity' after a month or so of continuous use (see my other review, now updated, for details). All is left is wireless communication i.e. useless. The return of this router back to Amazon caused me a week (lots of emails + recorded delivery + check that the refund includes the recorded delivery etc) For Argos, there is an obvious advantage - if there is something wrong with it, I just take it back for a refund/replacement on the same day. This router comes with detail instructions (step-by-step) for installation however it does not cater for the presence of a firewall...

Disadvantages: neil young only sings a few tracks

...buffalo springfield is the debut album from the rock and roll hall of famers, featuring folk rock giants stephen stills and neil young. this album features an ecletic mix of 12 tracks including the famous 'for what its worth'. the rest of the songs are perhaps not as instantly recognisable but in general the quality of the songs is very good. there is a good mix between laid back folk-rock such as 'hot dusty roads', 'out of my mind' and 'do i have to come right out and say it' to the frenetic blues of 'leave' and everything in between. lyrically this album is very good as all the songs are either stills or young originals and the musicianship is very solid if not groundbreaking. stephen stills exerts the most influence on this album, taking lead vocals or lead guitar on the majority of tracks. ...The Background About a month back I spotted an amazing deal on sendit.com, 5 DVDs for £15. You can't beat that, I thought, and proceeded to view the available titles in this promotion. Much to my surprise there were a few good ones up there, so I picked 3 that I had seen/wanted to see, and 2 "fillers" that I hadn't actually heard of before, "The Negotiator" and "Buffalo '66". Little did I know what a good find this last one would be. The Review Buffalo '66 is a film from 1998 which is directed by, acted in and score composed by, Vincent Gallo. It has received a nice 7.3/10 from www.imdb.com, one of the higher possible scores, and also stars Christina Ricci and Anjelica Huston, along with a small role for Mickey Rourke. The latest security is WPA, and whilst that can be complicated with RADIUS settings, Buffalo uses AOSS which is a derivative of WPA-TKIP. To get the final encryption level of security, I enabled AOSS on the AP and then got the client card to run the same AOSS procedure. In seconds both devices were using full secure encryption. The process is simple and works by pairing the two and auto-assigning encryption keys. If WEP is not available on the client card, then WEP is defaulted to. The strongest form of encryption is at first attempted, and it all works like pairing your wireless mouse to a base-station. Lovely! Good, but could get expensive!

...just the drivers if you wish, rather than lumbering you with the client application as well, whether you want it or not. I have two identical laptops, and using NetStumbler on both, the signal from my Access Point at home was indeed significantly stronger with the Buffalo card, than with the other laptop's MinPCI wireless card. However, as my AP at home is about 15ft above where I was testing the laptop, it didn't really prove that it would work where I neded it to most. At work, the AP signal is very weak, to the point where with my USB card, the signal seems to spend more time dropped than connected. There is no doubt that the signal through the buffalo card is stronger, but the amplifier amplifies everything that it receives, including noise, so the signal / noise ratio didn't really improve, but there was more of both!!!
