Buffalo WBMR-G54 wireless router - a real buffalo?

Advantages: Reasonable price, easy to use, lots of advanced settings
Disadvantages: installation firewall issue, signal strengh only reasonable

...I bought this router from a local Argos shop at an emergency situation i.e. I want it now and therefore not at the best price - 49.99. Reason: My all singing and all dancing Dynamode R-ADSL-C4W-EG - wireless router had lost its main function, 'internet connectivity' after a month or so of continuous use (see my other review, now updated, for details). All is left is wireless communication i.e. useless. The return of this router back to Amazon caused me a week (lots of emails + recorded delivery + check that the refund includes the recorded delivery etc) For Argos, there is an obvious advantage - if there is something wrong with it, I just take it back for a refund/replacement on the same day. This router comes with detail instructions (step-by-step) for installation however it does not cater for the presence of a firewall...

Buffalo's Brillant

Advantages: Wide range of connection,Supurb Firewall In Built, Easy to use, Small and Stylish

...I recently bought one of these routers after my dlink blew up, I was told by a friend that buffalo made excellent wireless routers and he wasn't wrong, this router works brillantly. This router has wireless access, including 4 ports intergrated for any ethernet cable needs, its small and easy to place anywhere without it looking out of place, It has a 54mbps data transfer rate which is rather good for todays router standards, a 2.4ghz frequency band, which means it can be recieved over a good distance, but the distance can be changed using the easy browser setup. It has many data link protocols incluing Ethernet, Fast Ethernet. IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g. It also has many features to this device as, Firewall protection (never had a virus since using it), auto sensing per device, DCHP support, auto uplink, IGMP snooping...

Speedy and secure

Cheap and cheerful!

Advantages: Price, Fairly Small, Easy Setup
Disadvantages: Not very stylish

...I bought this router as a replacement for a Belkin router which had expired. I was looking for a fairly cheap reliable router for connecting my laptop to my home ntl cable connection. So far I have not been dissapointed. You really can't complain for the price. It does the same job as more expensive models, is a breeze to set up and has both WEP and WPA security. I have also found the connection to be more reliable than my old Belkin router. (Particularly noticable when playing online poker where my old router would keep disconnecting). One thing to note is that this unit is only a router and does not include any kind of modem. You will need a seperate modem with an ethernet connection. (e.g. NTL 100 cable modem). If you have an ADSL connection then you would probably be better going for a router with a built in ADSL...

...I bought a Buffalo WHR-G54S about 4 months ago to allow me to use my laptop anywhere in the house and connect to our cable modem. To start with, this product cannot be beaten on price.. I got it for £25 quid from an online retailer (can't remember which) which is half the price of some of the other brands on offer. Technically it contains 802.11a/b/g for the wireless connectivity, 4 ethernet ports on the back, one ethernet port to connect to the modem and probably loads of other features I'll never use as I have a Mac It does contain something Buffalo call AOSS which I think is a one button set up for people with Windows, but as we have MacOS I didn't even bother trying. The manual is a little slim on information and I did need to turn to the internet to get some help on how to access the configuration page but once in, it took...

...buffalo springfield is the debut album from the rock and roll hall of famers, featuring folk rock giants stephen stills and neil young. this album features an ecletic mix of 12 tracks including the famous 'for what its worth'. the rest of the songs are perhaps not as instantly recognisable but in general the quality of the songs is very good. there is a good mix between laid back folk-rock such as 'hot dusty roads', 'out of my mind' and 'do i have to come right out and say it' to the frenetic blues of 'leave' and everything in between. lyrically this album is very good as all the songs are either stills or young originals and the musicianship is very solid if not groundbreaking. stephen stills exerts the most influence on this album, taking lead vocals or lead guitar on the majority of tracks. ...INTRO The Belkin N+ router is one of the higher end (consumer) wireless modem router offerings from Belkin. It cost me £85 from PC World, but can probably be found for a bit less if you shop online. The Cable version costs a little less. Reason I bought this one was because two PCs in the house with wireless cards kept losing the wireless connection when I was using a Linksys router (my own PCs / laptops were fine though!). I replaced that with a second hand Belkin, which worked fine but unfortunately, a power cut killed the wireless on it. ...The Background About a month back I spotted an amazing deal on sendit.com, 5 DVDs for £15. You can't beat that, I thought, and proceeded to view the available titles in this promotion. Much to my surprise there were a few good ones up there, so I picked 3 that I had seen/wanted to see, and 2 "fillers" that I hadn't actually heard of before, "The Negotiator" and "Buffalo '66". Little did I know what a good find this last one would be. The Review Buffalo '66 is a film from 1998 which is directed by, acted in and score composed by, Vincent Gallo.
