A big box of data outside of my PC
Review of Buffalo DriveStation HD-HC500IU2 500 GB by
AJRAD
Advantages: fast, high capacity, looks good, reliable, easy to use
Disadvantages: it makes my other drives look bad
...There comes a time when you need to get an external hard drive, after all there is a limit to how many internal ones you can attach to a motherboard (varies, normally about 3).
I personally use a lot of drive space, going into the terabytes, so every now and then I have to attach a new external HD. This time I bought this one, and I am quite happy with it.
An important feature that the DriveStation fulfills is that it looks nice. Its more important than manufacturers often think, as first impressions are often lasting impressions - and the first impression I got from this was professional and ruthlessly efficient.
The 500GB is generous considering it only cost me £100 or so, which is pretty damn good for external drives. 500GB will last me a good couple of months, then I reckon I will go and buy myself another of these beasts, my...

Need An External HD?
Review of Buffalo DriveStation TurboUSB HD-HS750U2 750 GB by
Surj1
Advantages: 750GB, 7200rpm, Hi-Speed USB, Very reliable & Easy To Use
Disadvantages: None
...The Buffalo Drive Station Turbo USB HD-HS750U2 750 GB is a very useful external hard drive. I have networked computers so use it for back up and storage, which makes it easy for the networked computers to access the same data from one unit.
The unit itself is well designed and looks good, its basically just going to sit next to your computer and is just a shell for the hard drive inside and for that it looks quite cool. The dimensions of the unit is 1.8" (w), 6.4" (d), 7.9" (h) and it weighs around 1.5kg.
The external hard drive lets you back up and easily access various stored files and folders without taking up room on your PC's main hard drive. This is based on the SATA hard drive technology which is for larger capacity and with turbo USB technology, The hard drives transfer rate is much more than those of standard USB hard drives...

Alternative? Maybe. Unusual? Definitely!
Review of Comfort For The Traveller - Utah Carol by
graeme10
Advantages: One of those albums that grabs you for completely unknown reasons
Disadvantages: One or two of the later tracks didn't grab me as much
...Rocket
4. See The Sun
5. Find A Way
6. Angel
7. When We're Apart
8. Soda Fountain
9. Promised Land
10. Wandering Eyes
11. Nellie
12. Mr Rogers
13. Dandelions
14. Cowboy Pop Song
15. The Way Of The Buffalo
Okay, that the basics out of the way, what do you get?
"Airplanes" sets the tone for the album in most respects - the duo sound joined at the hip since their voices compliment each other to the nth degree. But this is a good thing, since the arrangements slide along in sympathy with the almost syrupy-sweet nature of the song - definitely a 'feel good' track and something that puts you in the right frame of mind for the next piece....
"Misfits" clearly lifts an arrangement from a traditional song - "Anne Mae, Annie Mae, find your way to heaven" runs the chorus in a piece about a family dealing with the death of a favourite relative. It...

Hunter S Thompson Compilation - Loving It!
Review of Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas / Where The Buffalo Roam DVD by
woof45
Advantages: Both great films that do relate to each other
Disadvantages: Some might not like the comparison of Depp and Murray
...I bought this the other week to go with the rest of my Fear and Loathing Merchandise and to be honest both films are as good as each other.
Its without a doubt one of Bill Murray's best performances in Where the Buffalo Roam, telling the story of Hunter S Thompson incorporating some great Thompson moments however it is at a disadvantage of having the comparison alongside it with Johnny Depp in Fear and Loathing as Raoul Duke/Thompson.
I mean Johnny Depp really does play the part extremely well but you've got to remember that Where the Buffalo Roam was released 18 years earlier and so Bill Murray plays Thompson well before the Depp days of Terry Gilliam directed Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
To be honest its one of the best mixed box sets I've ever bought and I admittedly enjoyed both films as much as each other,
Peter Boyle plays...

Network 2TB Buffalo RAID drive array
Review of Buffalo TeraStation Pro II TS-H2.0TGL/R5 by
biggles5
Advantages: Solid, feature packed, easy to use
Disadvantages: Not as fast as direct attached storage, plus a little noisy.
...I have been using my Buffalo (called 'Bertie'!) for over 4 months now, and it has worked very well indeed. Bertie is connected to my gigabit switch and is accessed by 4 other computers, and it also hosts a file sharing site too. The drive sits in a Windows environment, and is very easy to connect up. After a 15 second boot process, you access the features of the drive through a browser. All the usual tools for network drives are there, plus some seriously useful user permissions, and trashcan tools. It has hot swappable drives too (I bought a spare just in case), but this sold beast I feel will never breakdown. It's not the quietest drive in the world, but this is a minor annoyance. The actual data transfer over the network is not as fast as directly attached storage, but the benefits of using a network far out weigh this. When I need...

Make mine a Manhattan.
Review of Buffalo Trace Bourbon by
hukerjohn
Advantages: Great mixing boubon
Disadvantages: None really.
...--Buffalo Trace Bourbon--
Buffalo Trace is from Franklin County in Kentucky and has been around since 1775. They have won oodles of awards over the years, not only for Buffalo Trace but also a number of the other bourbons they now produce. Including Hancocks, George T. Stagg, Rip Van Winkle, Elmer T. Lee, Rock Hill Farms and Sazerac. Buffalo Trace alone has won 17 awards over the last 7 years. Not bad.
-What is a buffalo Trace?-
A buffalo trace is just as it sounds. It is the trail left behind after a huge number of buffalo have migrated. The bourbon is named after one particular trace called the Great Buffalo Trace which was where millions of Buffalo cut a pathway through to the West and the Great Plains. Leaving explorers to follow and settle on the banks of the Kentucky River.
-Bourbon-
Bourbon is an American spirit...

The funkiest Boots ever
Review of Buffalo (Shop) by
Pelotas
Advantages: Funky, trendy Boots that go with anything
Disadvantages: Expensive
...I´m sure most people have heard of 'Buffalos' by now. They are the funky, chunky boots made famous by the spice girls and they are boots for women with attitude!!
I´m sure lots of people disagree and find this type of footwear not to their taste, but for me, they are fantastic footwear which have been around for almost six or seven years now. The only bad thing is the price. Unfortunately they retail for around £80 a pair but the quality is very high as they are handmade in Spain.
For those of you not familiar with Buffalo boots they are the ones you see alot of girls and women between the ages of 15 and 30 wearing in the streets alot of the time. They have a chunky 'tractor tyre' type sole, come in lots of different colours such as red, patent black, white, pink, baby blue and gold and are really comfy as well.
Personally I have...

Wonderful wireless bridge
Review of Buffalo AirStation Turbo G High Power WLI-TX4-G54HP - bridge by
ncdave4life
Advantages: best way to get a wired ethernet port at the other end of a wireless connection
Disadvantages: none
...11 Wireless Ethernet Bridge, which is similar, but the Buffalo WLI-TX4-G54HP is better in every way. It is much easier to set up (via a simple web interface, and access to the 1.1.1.1 configuration port), it has great range, it has 4 ports instead of 1, and it has been totally trouble-free. With the Linksys WET11, the only way I can get back to the configuration screen after setting it up is to reset the device and start from scratch. With the Buffalo WLI-TX4-G54HP, its default configuration/status address is 1.1.1.1 after a reset, but you can change it to something in your local subnet, so you can still get to the configuration/status page after it is set up. Nice!
Buffalo also has some similar products with just one ethernet port, instead of four. Those are the products with "TX1" in the model number, instead of "TX4."...

Good, but could get expensive!
Review of Buffalo AirStation G54 WLI-CB-G54HP by
ManWithHabits
Advantages: Amplified signal
Disadvantages: Will most likely need an external antenna
...This card is now a fair amount cheaper than it used to be, so I decided to splash out and see if it worked for me. I bought it for only slightly more dosh than a normal card, and it was delivered the very next day, courtesy of NickKnows.com
The reason for wanting to get this card was that I was trying to get a reliable connection to a weak signal at work, where the only alternative was a dial up connection. I had been using a Belkin USB adapter, stuck to the office window with brown tape and several USB extension cables between it and my laptop. Even then my connection seemed to depend a huge amount on the weather between me and the access point I was connecting to.
The card was easy to set up. Pop in the CD, install the drivers, then slide in the card when told to. The Buffalo software is quite good in that it lets you install just...
