...I had heard many people rave about Buffet King but had never managed to visit it myself. When I had a friend staying I decided that a buffet would be a great place for a meal as you can guarantee that there will be something that we both liked there and it would be informal and reasonably priced. Situated in Carnegie Drive, the restaurant is just a minutes walk from the bus station and there is also ample parking in the council owned car parks across the road. It?s easy to see the appeal of a buffet, you get to fill your plate with as many tasty morsels as your stomach can hold but I have found that the quality varies greatly, lets see how Buffet King measures up. Buffet the Hunger Slayer!

Advantages: Good value, extensive selection of food available
Disadvantages: Busy, crowded, somewhat impersonal service

...With the Mother in Law visiting and my skills as a Domestic Goddess somewhat lacking, there was only one option - take her out to an 'all you can eat' buffet so that she doesn't need to eat for the rest of her holiday! Buffet Island was the place eventually chosen which is a half hour journey from our home, but well worth the short trip. It is advertised as being one of the largest Chinese buffet restaurants in Staffordshire which surprised me as I wouldn't imagine there would anywhere bigger in the county! The restaurant was huge, with every inch of space carefully planned to fit in as many tables as possible. Buffet RC prestige Clarinet

Advantages: Great Quality and Sound
Disadvantages: A bit expensive

...After starting the clarinet at school i asked for a buffet B12 clarinet for christmas. I kept this clarinet until the last year of my A levels but my clarinet teacher advised me that i needed a new one to progress further. Because of this i then started to try many different clarinets. I tried nearly every model and every make and narrowed it down to a Buffet RC and a Buffet R13. The reason i chose an RC prestige was because of the dark mellow german tone compared to the R13 prestige which gives a brighter french tone. This clarinet served me well through my degree, i gained a first in major performance with this clarinet and enjoyed every minute of practicing with it. now i am a woodwind teacher i would always tell the pupils to go for Buffet as they make outstanding clarinet. Even the most basic models are well built and sound good...

My Buffet Clarinet

Advantages: A nice rich sound. Uses up my spare time.

...I was offered the chance to learn the clarinet at school. There only five of us chosen so I was very pleased. We had to take an aural test be picked. I then had to get a clarinet. The problem was that they were expensive to buy about £2000. Obviously my mother wouldn?t buy one as I was only learning. The shop rented them out for a three-weekly cost of £32. The Buffet RC Prestige is supposed to be the best clarinet in the Buffet range so I am very proud to have it. Buffet has been making Clarinets for over 175 years and are the worlds greatest. It is made from African Blackwood and is reddy-brown in colour. The keys are silver-plated and are easy to use. This is supposed to give a more even overtone and a rounder sound. The keys are set out nicely making it easy to play. Of course you have to get used to them. My hands fit...

There are several Buffet Island across the country and I do think there is a chain however in discussions, this Buffet Island in Newcastle under Lyme doesn't seem to be part of the chain and is run independently from the other that are part of chain. ...My family and I have had many most enjoyable experiences at Buffet Island where we have always found the choice of food on offer simply staggering and the quality mind-blowing. As somebody who has been to China, Hong Kong and Macao and many other South East Asia destinations I would never hesitate to recommend this restaurant. I have always found the staff to be friendy and helpful and the whole place to be spotlessly clean. All in all a great dining experience. I have read, with interest, several other reviews of this restaurant on another site and I do have to question the motivation behind some highly critical reviews which appear to me to be wildy inaccurate. It's a buffet and you can eat until you burst with food selections from Chinese, Thai, Indian and Mexican. As a person who enjoys a good meal out with quality food, this was ok overall. The quality of the food was middling, seemed to be lots of chicken dishes which were fine but I prefer a bit more variety like lamb or prawn. The starters were good though, plenty of variety there and definitely something for everyone. It was quite crowded at the time I was there, and it did feel limited on space with people squashed together - so ok, maybe I should have expected this but I do like to be able to push my chair back a few inches without hitting the person behind me or feeling like the people next to me were listening to my conversation...
