I?ve had a couple of bad experiences with prawns in restaurants so they tend to be the thing I judge quality of food on and these passed with flying colours! Now time to move on to the main courses. I liked the wide range range on offer here, many buffets fill their hot plates up with cheap filler items to keep costs down but at Buffet King they had roast duck, duck pancakes, mussels in black bean sauce as well as the usual curries, chicken balls, rices, noodles, a couple of vegetarian options and chips. I filled my plate up by the time I was half way along the hot plates forcing me to go back for more! The three sauces on offer were curry, sweet and sour and barbeque. All of the food was nice and fresh and well cooked and full of flavour, the dishes at a buffet are often stingy in the meat bulking...

...Come into the kitchen I just have to wash my dishes, Well casserole dishes round Pyrex casserole dishes really. These dishes wash well; I just need some hot soapy water. I could use the dishwasher if I had one. I have a lot of Pyrex casserole dishes, this large 3.5 litre one was a wedding present. (33 years now you know.)They make an even bigger one at 4.5 litres; I do not own one of them. I have three 2.5 litre dishes .I think one was my old mums I rescued this from her kitchen when we cleared out the house after her death. I also have one 2 litre dish. It's not the sort of restaurant that you'd choose to go to for its relaxing atmosphere and ambience, as it's very busy with a lot of activity and swift turnover of tables and you aren't going to get a personal level of service given the nature of the restaurant. Use your loaf ......... dish

...Good old Pyrex make a loaf dish this is a very useful loaf shaped dish The end walls have a small lip which makes it easy to lift in and out of the oven. This loaf dish comes in a variety of sizes mine is 30cm. I find this dish useful for making many loaf shaped dishes, I use it for tea bread, banana cake, ginger bread, meat loaf and a variety of other dishes too. I find Pyrex dishes good material l as it is non- porous, flavours and smells do not linger after washing. To wash it up either do it manually or use the dish washer. It cleans well. Pyrex dishes last ages and ages still looking in fair condition. If you drop this Pyrex loaf dish it probably will not break it wills if thrown with force against a stone floor, but I have dropped Pyrex several times and it has not broken. You are taken to your table by the host, the actually dining area is very basic in one respect and not quite what you would imagine from thefirst area you sit in. As it says for itself Buffet Island, you are made welcome to go to the buffet at any time and make as many visits to the bars as you like. In the starters area, you had 12 dishes to choose from, or all of them if you wanted, including: Sesame Prawn Toast, Barbecued Spare Ribs, Crab Claws, Onion Rings, Spring Rolls, Samosa's, Chips?, Seaweed, Skewed Chicken, amongst many others. Buffet RC prestige Clarinet

Advantages: Great Quality and Sound

...After starting the clarinet at school i asked for a buffet B12 clarinet for christmas. I kept this clarinet until the last year of my A levels but my clarinet teacher advised me that i needed a new one to progress further. Because of this i then started to try many different clarinets. I tried nearly every model and every make and narrowed it down to a Buffet RC and a Buffet R13. The reason i chose an RC prestige was because of the dark mellow german tone compared to the R13 prestige which gives a brighter french tone. This clarinet served me well through my degree, i gained a first in major performance with this clarinet and enjoyed every minute of practicing with it. now i am a woodwind teacher i would always tell the pupils to go for Buffet as they make outstanding clarinet. Even the most basic models are well built and sound good...

My Buffet Clarinet

...I was offered the chance to learn the clarinet at school. There only five of us chosen so I was very pleased. We had to take an aural test be picked. I then had to get a clarinet. The problem was that they were expensive to buy about £2000. Obviously my mother wouldn?t buy one as I was only learning. The shop rented them out for a three-weekly cost of £32. The Buffet RC Prestige is supposed to be the best clarinet in the Buffet range so I am very proud to have it. Buffet has been making Clarinets for over 175 years and are the worlds greatest. It is made from African Blackwood and is reddy-brown in colour. The keys are silver-plated and are easy to use. This is supposed to give a more even overtone and a rounder sound. The keys are set out nicely making it easy to play. Of course you have to get used to them. My hands fit...

...clear the tables and take orders for drinks, I found them very courteous and helpful. Dirty plates from each visit to the buffet were speedily cleared and orders for more drinks taken quickly. We never once felt hurried and the service was well worth a tip. Charges for the buffet vary depending on what time of day you visit. At £5.50 for lunch and pre-theatre at £6.99 it is excellent value. Pre-theatre ends at 7pm and dinner prices were £8.99. Perfect for solo dishes or family meals!

Advantages: Roomy, cooks to perfection, cooks in half the time, self-cleans.
Disadvantages: So far, I can honestly say I haven't found any.

...overcooking! -The self clean function is fantastic, and the main bowl is dishwasher safe too so can be easily turfed in there too, but I've found that a second "wash" with just plain hot water is a great way to give it a good rinse out after washing and make sure there is no washing up smell lingering - it might be just me but I rinse my plates and cups too after washing so it makes sense to me. -Whilst cleaning pop the racks upside down in the water and let it clean them too! A quick wipe over with a sponge and a rinse under the tap and they come out sparkling! -If you're worried about any food sticking to your racks just spritz them very lightly with some oil before cooking - you can get the low-cal spray oils at any supermarket and one spritz is all you really need. ...Amongst my Pyrex collection I have this Pyrex cake dish with handles. This cake dish is round has fluted edges and two handles for easy lifting, This is has1.1 litre capacity and is about the same circumference as a dinner plate. Price between £4 and £5 available in a lot of shops selling cooking /eating equipment and on line at http://www.kitchen-outlet.co.uk/buy/Cake-Dish-11Ltr.asp. So what do I use this dish for? Well all sorts of things, I cook sponge upside down puddings in it. I use it for cheesecakes. I present salads in it. The list of uses is too long to write on here. The only downside is the fluted edges yes they look attractive but sometimes cooked food gets stuck in them. Still fairly easily remedied just needs a bit of elbow grease and a non scratch cleaner and cleans up well I expect most of us or our parents...
