...background to Vanguard until I started to write this review I had no idea who they were. I searched online and read a few reviews about the company. The company specialise in manufacturing Camera bags, Binoculars, Tripods and Cases for guns to name a few products. The companies customers include major Camera manufacturers. vanguard Camera Case for a Camera case it is a low priced entry level Camera Case used to hold, store and allow the user to move around with a Camera inside the Pouch. The Camera Case is black coloured throughout. The Case has the Vanguard's logo encased on the closing part of the Pouch. Also the material is polyester and I suppose that it is good that it is not made from leather as the leather in the summer weather reacts to the heat. This Camera Case also adheres to the international quality...

Solid built DSLR Camera

Advantages: Very good value now that it costs under £500
Disadvantages: Fast shooting is quite slow at 3fps

...This DSLR camera was over £1000 when it first came on the market. Now it is under £500 and it is a bargin of a DSLR for the money. It shares a body with the Nikon D200. Because of this it can be used with Nikon Lens' and D200 accessories. It uses Compact Flash memory, and has a cache ram for 7 shots. The camera is quite big, heavy and bulky so is not the best of cameras for taking on holiday etc. But the quality of the pictures is excellant. It can be used as fully automatic and basicly just point and shoot but for the best results I've found that the manual settings (if you can be bothered using them) gives the best results....

...Speed cameras are one of the best inventions ever thought up, it is just a shame our councils and police can not put them to better use. The sole purpose of out friendly little Gatso should / was originally to deter speeding and therefore cut the number of accidents involving excess speed. I live at the bottom of a fairly large hill, which happens to be a major through road. Halfway up the hill is a primary school, because of the nature of the hill and the fact at the top of it, it changes from national speed limit to 30mph I have personally witnessed 1000's of car coming down the hill at 40mph plus, why is there not a speed camera there I will never know. Belkin 2-Port KVM Switch With Built-In Cabling

Advantages: Advantages: Cheap, all in one solution
Disadvantages: No manual overide or audio support

...stops autoscanning and lets you use the currently selected PC. The Belkin claims support for scrolling mice but I did find sometimes one PC would start up without recognising this facility if it wasn't the currently selected one when booting up and in extreme cases, wouldn't recognise the keyboard and mouse at all. Previous KVM's I've used send the PC fake 'There's a keyboard and mouse here' messages when not selected and it seems this unit does not, which is a pity. Conclusion The Belkin 2 port KVM is a well built unit that works nicely and provides a great way to save desk space and the cost of a second monitor, keyboard and mouse. The long leads are useful and despite the niggles with scrolling mice and the lack of manual switch. I'd say this unit is worth considering at this price if you can live with those shortcomings...

Why I think, Speed cameras don't work

Advantages: Reduces speed temporarily, If used properly reduces accidents and deaths.
Disadvantages: Propaganda, Revenue raising, Being lied to and Targeted.

...already on heavy goods vehicles, I have seen schemes put forward where cars can be controlled by satellites but I feel that is too extreme. # Target areas that NEED to be targeted, Schools, Built up areas, pedestrian crossings, villages, accident blackspots, crossroads - if people get caught in these cases then I have no sympathy. Abolish plans to put in speed cameras in any other area. # Increase the amount of speedhumps which has proved to be the only method of controlling speed effectively - of course only if they are implemented safely which isn't always the case. # Target peoples driving skills rather than cracking down on speeding like banning hands free mobile phones which distracts drivers and also making it an offence to tailgate - this could be enforced much the same way as speeding. Another way is to make driving courses...

The perfect backpackers camera

...I purchased the original DMC-TZ1 when it first came onto the market a few years back and thought it was a great camera. But this one is even better! The 9.1mp makes for a good clear shot and the 12x optical zoom is amazing! Its the perfect camera for travelling - it can fit into your pocket or a going out bag ensuring you always have a camera to capture every moment. The zoom is the perfect added bonus. The only downside as I see it is the battery must be a specific type which isnt compatable with many other cameras. Having said that the battery is good quality and lasts for ages once charged. Because the battery is so specific to purchase a spare (which I would recommend for anyone travelling) isnt the cheapest....

SPEED CAMERAS - A MONEY MAKING SCAM?

Advantages: Preventing accidents? saving lives?
Disadvantages: Making money?

...your car to work in the future, it could cost you a fortune. Not that anyone would attempt to! Naturally speaking though, speed cameras can reduce accidents and prevent deaths on the roads. This will only happen if they are in suitable places. To clarify matters: YES - Speeding is stupid YES - Limits are there for a reason YES - Doing a higher speed will increase the risk of killing someone YES - There should be speed cameras NO - They should not be in places where there aren't schools or non built-up areas.
