Yo! Sushi Bullring Birmingham

Advantages: Tasty, makes a chance
Disadvantages: Expensive

...~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Where it is situated ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Although on here, it is advertised as 'Upper Mall' which it may be, it is confusing as Yo! Sushi is situated on the lower floor of Selfridges in the Bullring Shopping Centre in Birmingham City Centre. It is visible from the outside of Selfridges and is located on the right hand side of the shop. The Bullring has a carpark which takes you right into the shopping centre, although it takes you to the opposite side of the Bullring, it is not far to walk. This carpark can be quite expensive so if you know the area you are best to park somewhere else. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What is Yo! Sushi? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yo! Sushi is a mixture of traditional Japanese and Western food which is freshly prepared by chefs infront of you. You can see it being made and you then have the knowledge...

The Bullring - A modern master piece

Advantages: Over 160 Shops!
Disadvantages: A lot to get round in one day.

...If you are a serious shopaholic or just want to go somewhere different from the day I recommend the Bullring Shopping centre in the heart of Birmingham. It has something for everyone, and on the off chance you can't find what you are looking for, there are plenty of shops just outside for you to look round. GETTING THERE:- If you are visiting by car there are plenty of signs directing you as the Bullring is one of the main attractions in Birmingham. If you arrive by train there are two stations very close to the shopping centre. Firstly, the main station is New Street Station and Virgin trains run a relaible service from most places in the country. It is about a five minute walk to the shops from this station and again, there are plenty of sign posts. The other station is Moor street station. This will bring you out...

Review of BullRing Shopping Centre

Bullring best by far

Advantages: Huge range of shops
Disadvantages: busy, but what do you expect!

...The countries latest shopping centre opened on 4th September 2003 and it has taken three years to get it built. It was advertised as the best shopping centre and it seems to have lived up to the expectations. The Bullring is right in the centre of the City with easy access from New Street and Moor Street train stations, you can see the Bullring from either and wlakways are clearly signposted too. If you are travelling by car there are plenty of car parks around with ample numbers of spaces and again the car parks and shopping centre are clearly signposted from around the City. The Bullring centre opens 9.30am-8pm Monday to Friday, 9am til 8pm on Saturday and 11am-5pm Sunday. However the doors open before to allow youto browse the shops before you are allowed to make purchases. Many food/drink outlets ar eopen beyond these hours...

Retail Therapy At Your Fingertips

Advantages: Great range of shops, cafes, restaurants, modernised & up-to-date, positive atmosphere
Disadvantages: Can get very busy & stressful (ie. At Christmas!)

...When it comes to shopping, The Bullring is a great place to go to immerse yourself in numerous shops, cafes and a great atmosphere. I live about an hour from Birmingham so tend to get the train there to save on parking and you can just walk through the station and into shopping mall heaven. The Bullring has over 160 shops and 25 cafes which gives you a rough idea of how extensive it is. If that's not enough, being at the heart of Birmingham you only need step outside to check out other shops, attractions and things to do. The Bullring really dates way back to 1166 when the site it's built on was awarded the right to set up marketing. By the 1960s it earned recognition as a centre that inspired revolutionary 'urban planning' and stands as a landmark link between the High Street, New Street & St Martins. As the Bullring centre has...

An alternative to shopping in the Bullring

Advantages: Opens until 8.00pm weekdays, good range of high street shops
Disadvantages: Out of town, shops not under one building.

...I was unable to go to the HMV in Birmingham's bullring (because Peter Andre was there signing copies of his new single) and was recommended to try the Fort in Castle Bromwich as this had a large HMV and other shops for last minute holiday stuff. The Fort is an out of town shopping centre and situated off the M6. It was relatively easy to get to by car but I am not sure how good the public transport links are - I saw one bus stop on the way there and there are no train stations near by. There is a large car park and parking is free. The shops are not under one building and are all in a row in a sort of large three quarters square shape. There is a covered walkway where you have to walk to get to one shop to another. The shops are mainly made up of the Arcadia Group i.e. Topshop, Dorothy Perkins, Burton, BHS etc and there is...

Birmingham's star

Advantages: huge, wonderful and contains a shop for everyone!
Disadvantages: Once you're in pulling yourself away is harder than it sounds!!

...When i first heard about the Bullring i wasnt really that excited, but i had a look online and was very impressed! There were so many shops listed and Selfridges was such an inspiring, funky and creative design: i just HAD to go there! The first time I went was on a day out with the German Exchange group. We were allowed 3 hours to shop and we thought yeah that'll be enough... how wrong were we!! The moment we stepped in through the huge glass doors, we were dazzled by the huge stretch of shops, the crisp lighting and the sheer amount of shoppers. We headed for Topshop which was a BIG mistake! It was huge, amazing, breathtaking, enormous, wow i could go on for ages about it! There were so many clothes and accessories, along with shoes and jewellery to suit everyones tastes. They had a petite, tall and maternity range which...

Brum. The "shopping capital of Europe"?

Advantages: loads of shops, and a nice contemporary look and feel
Disadvantages: the urge to buy everything! Or is that just me...?

...I only discovered the Bullring shopping centre in September last year when I moved to Birmingham University. I was really impressed with the huge number and range of shops available in the centre and the surrounding area - I'm a bit of a small-town gal me, I'm more used to farms and countryside walks. The first thing that attracted me to the Bullring was its appearance. You can't miss it as its situated right in the very centre of Birmingham, and its contemporary design screams sophistication. The Selfridges section is the most famous part of the centre, with its contemporary dome structure that lights up bright blue at night. With its well known bronze bull statue, it has become an extremely popular tourist attraction, bringing in people from all over the world. With Digbeth cathedral exactly opposite and the famous Corporation...

Bull Ring. You might get hooked

Advantages: Fantastic, great architecture & shopping
Disadvantages: Perhaps a little too big for one visit

.... One thing you will notice is the incredibly designed and made giant Bronze Bull. People are starting to love him, already. The Bull Ring is open 7 days a week, 8pm Monday to Saturday and 11am to 5pm on Sundays. And the website is at www.bullring.co.uk. For some bizarre reason the developers insist on misspelling the name Bull Ring as one word, Bullring. Still, nobody's perfect! If you want to see what it looks like, try www.bbc.co.uk/england/webcams/cityviews/birminghambullringcitycentrebuilding1webcam.shtml The Bull Ring is a short walk from New Street and Moor Street railway stations and a few minutes walk from Snow Hill Station. Parking is available....

Dropped by Space Ship in the Belly Button of Brum

Advantages: Loads of Hight Street Shops, mostly under cover
Disadvantages: Expensive Car Parks, Very Busy on Saturdays

...Warning - I'm a woman, I love shopping, I know men don't always 'get it', so this is a very feminine biased review - apologies to you blokes out there, but I'm sure you're reading something about electronic gadgets rather than shopping centres anyway! I'm a born and bred Brummie but one thing that used to let us down as the 'second city' was the shops. Not any more! When the Bullring opened it was like a spaceship had landed in the middle of town and dropped another city in the middle of what was a horrible 60's concrete jungle. Despite the fact the Bullring has now been open for a two years now it hasn't lost its 'shine'. - Getting There - The Bullring is easily accessible - if you're travelling by train it's straight out of New Street train station or Moore Street Station and across the road and you're there! It...

The UK's shopping capitial! (OK, bit biased!)

Advantages: Easy access from New Street Station, good parking, the facilities, 140+ shops!
Disadvantages: The crowds.

...Although I am only 22, I have travelled quite a bit - Paris, New York, Amsterdam, San Fransisco, Chicago, DC... As a result I've seen some fantastic shopping facilities. I love New York and could spend an absolute fortune there (although as a student I can hardly afford it). I've also been to most of the huge shopping centres in the UK... Meadowhall, the Trafford Centre etc. However, I have to say that the Bullring is the best one I have been to in this country certainly, and rivals others in Europe and the US. The Bullring officially opened on the 4th September 2003. However, I didn't manage to get down there until I started a placement last week. I was amazed by what I saw. There is something for absolutely everyone in there. The shops range from the cheaper end of the scale to the more expensive. Shopping in Birmingham had previous...
