Cheap White Burgundy ! Oh la la !

Advantages: Great value when discounted, resonably balanced
Disadvantages: Maybe needs a touch more acidity

...Having purchased a clutch of low priced wines from that Evil Empire of Retailing Everything Possible (A.K.A. Tesco) in order to placate a personal credit crunch, I just hoped that they were drinkable. Well so far so good and the latest candidate to fall under scrutiny, Tesco Finest Oak Aged White Burgundy, was subjected to a trial by nose and palate. This particular bottle was introduced briefly into my cellar thanks to Tesco's tempting Wine Festival at a possible loss leading price of £3.98 (full price of £6.98). I say this as due to laws of limited supply and thirsty demand Burgundies tend to be expensive. At a shade under 4 quid this compares well to the price of a bottle originating from a jumbo sized industrial-esque New World vineyard. Disgruntled of Burgundy

Advantages: Chills or warms wine.
Disadvantages: No guidance on correct temperatures given and won't take champagne bottles.

...temperature in the wine guide, pull the cork, pop the bottle in the machine and then enjoy the wine at its best. I'm easily fooled. Packaging, when the machine arrived, was appropriate and there was nothing there that I couldn't recycle. The chiller itself is smart with a slightly retro look in grey and burgundy. I'd have preferred something plainer myself, but it wasn't there for its looks. The first problem was where to put it. The diameter, at 20cm was alright, but the height of 28cm meant that it couldn't go under a wall unit in the kitchen if I was to get the bottle into it without a struggle. You're also warned that it shouldn't be placed near a source of water. There's a decent length of flex, but a rather bulky and ugly transformer which you might not want to have on permanent display. Deep Burgundy doesn't do what it says on the box.

Advantages: Great smelling conditioner, applies easily
Disadvantages: Fades quickly and can leave your hair looking pretty washed out

My hairdresser recommended Garnier Nutrisse or Schwarzkopf Live and so I went on the lookout for a nice colour. I was still at school and so I didn't want anything too bright to begin with. I found the "Deep Burgundy" shade on the shelf and I fell in the love with the colour. It was like a warm reddish-brown, something a little different but not too extreme. I decided to have one of the "Extra Light Blonde" shades for my highlights and they looked great together. I went to my hairdresser to have the colours applied and thewhole dying process was fine, no issues. ...I have been to France many times, always visiting the Dordogne area which I love, but our friends recommended Burgundy for a change of scenery and gastronomy. We went to the Burgundy region in October 2004 for a week, self catering in a wonderfully topsy turvy farmhouse, set in 3000sq metres of garden in a hilly village near Burgundy's wine capital Beaune, with 3 vineyards within walking distance. October was quite a nice month to visit, as the grapes had all been harvested and the autumn colours were just starting to settle in. The weather was fine, slightly breezy and thankfully only rained on our last day. We drove using Eurotunnel from Folkestone to Calais, and then began the long haul down to Burgundy. Advantages: Can watch it a 100 times and not get bored
Disadvantages: far too funny

The Funny Moments Make It Worth A Watch!

Advantages: Very funny, great characters
