Advantages: Friendly service, gets you where you need to go!
Disadvantages: Becoming expensive!

...Stagecoach are the primary providers of public transport in my area (East Midlands). Obviously all areas, buses, drivers, prices are different so I can only comment on my area's service. I have been using buses as my main form of transport for a few years now although hopefully this will be my last year as I have just bought a beautiful little car called Jasmine (now all I need is to pass my test!). Stagecoach run around 90% of all buses in my area and some routes have buses as often as every 5 minutes - that is a lot of buses! The bus routes cover almost all areas and almost any where you go in the area you are never more than a 3 min walk to a bus stop. Not bad, eh? Brilliant buses at a good price!

Advantages: Excellent service, good price, smart buses
Disadvantages: I didn't find any

...During a recent visit to Edinburgh I had the pleasure of travelling on the Lothian Buses, and it certainly was a pleasure. The Buses The buses themselves all look new - I didn't see a scruffy one during the whole of my fortnight's stay in Edinburgh! The buses were clean and even the seats were all comfortable! They all have CCTV on board to deter anti social behaviour and I didn't see any signs of it so maybe that's working. I don't know how long it has been in operation so I can't make too many assumptions I suppose. The buses have ramps so that wheelchair users and parents with pushchairs can all board easily. There are designated spaces on the ground floor of the buses for the wheelchairs and their riders to be safe on board. The drivers were polite, helpful and friendly. Advantages: Same old characters, slapstick humour
Disadvantages: It's wearing too thin now

...In this sixth series of the hit sixties/seventies comedy, Stan and Jack are still working on the buses, trying to get the better of Inspector Blake whenever they can. Stan is still living at home with his mother, sister Olive, and her husband, Arthur, but things are getting difficult - Olive and Arthur seem to be arguing from noon to night and the atmosphere in the house is so bad that he is glad to go to work! On top of that, he is trying to stop smoking, which doesn't do much for his temper. Union trouble and strikes mean that he has to spend nights at work too - will his time away result in better relations between Olive and Arthur? Back to basics!

Advantages: It has buses and trams in one place
Disadvantages: Not many at allfacilities

The station: The bus station is relatively small really in comparison to a lot of other bus stations around the Manchester area. However this really ties in with the fact that Altrincham itself is a smallish town centre. The station has two main 'tunnels' as I call them with the larger of the two having about eight stops and the smaller about five. Located behind the larger tunnel is the entrance to the tram stop where the information desk is and directly behind this is the tram stop itself. Buses and trams: There are plenty of buses that stop here that have travelled from surrounding areas - probably the two most noticeable for me are the number 11 which serves a route all the way from here, through to Stockport...
