Advantages: Best of Kate Bush on one CD
Disadvantages: should have made it two !!

...I think this CD album defines Kate Bush …in my listening ear. It is an asset any Kate Bush fan’s collection, in particular those who are going through that expensive vinyl to CD migration. I bought this in the sale last month for only £7.99, which is very reasonable as her albums normally retail for full price. The warm, pleasurable and haunting voice of Kate Bush and the best of her compelling and often personal-complex lyrics are all present in this album. I find her material enchanting and easy to unwind and listen to, okay it may be a flashback to the 70’s/80’s but the songs are as good now as they definitely were then. This album might appeal to music lovers of all tastes because on one CD you have the majority of Kate Bush’s hits from the late 1970’s through to mid1980’s. ...I'd heard about Bush from a couple of gothic friends and thiis was to be my first ever rock CD.I had already heard "The chemicals between us" and since it was a phat song and I was feeling rich I bought their newest album "The Science Of Things" at first glance it looked good and whilst the first song was playing i flicked through the lyrics booklet and it was really colourful and used strange fonts throughout. After all the songs had played I was uhappy because all the song sounded the same and it cost me £14.99 ! but after listening to it a few times it got better and better and now each song sounds totally different and theres not one song on it that i dont like. Advantages: refreshing modern rock
Disadvantages: too manufactured for some people????

...absolutely amazing tracks. Three of which were released as singles namely - Everything Zen, Little Things and Come Down. With the latter two reaching the number one spot on the American modern rock charts! If you like modern rock music with roots in grunge then Bush might add nicely to your record collection and this album in particular. Bush have released several albums after this amazing debut and achieved even more success but for me this album is Bush at their very best. Plus look out for the bonus edition with a second CD with 4 accoustic versions of come down and a live version of everything zen!... Read review

Advantages: Great price and a must for any cd collection!

...As I am writing this review I am listening to The Science of Things by Bush. This is their latest 12 track album from 1999. The tracks vary in style, from the rocky sound of The Chemicals Between Us and The Disease of the Dancing Cats, to the melodic sound of Dead Meat and Letting the Cables Sleep. Song writer Gavin Rossdale seems to have included a song for every mood! The full lyrics for each and every song are neatly included in the album's cover along with a few pictures of the band themselves. The price for this album is very good as most record stores are selling this album on cd for £9.99. The science of things is a must for any Rock or Indie fan! Enjoy!... Read review

Advantages: Pure Kate Bush- worth the money.
Disadvantages: Some will find it too quirky.

...This is my first ever review, so I chose a subject close to my heart - Kate Bush's music. Having spent my melancholy teen years accompanied by a Kate Bush soundtrack, I had been disappointed with "The Red Shoes", and longed for the glory days of "Never Forever", "Lionheart" and "The Kick Inside" - those are listed in my order of preference ! From the haunting first track on "Aerial", the upbeat "King of the Mountain", the "King" being Elvis, the album takes on a more mature tone than her earlier works, and my favourite track on CD1, "Mrs. Bartolozzi", is the quirky Kate which people find amazingly innovative or totally bonkers! It is a song seemingly about housework, yet magically soulful when you hear the lilting voice, the music and the underlying sadness in relationships. Advantages: Machine head rocking guitar riff
Disadvantages: the singing and the rest of the album

...this is bush's first album released in 1994. People think there ripping off nirvana but they're not, they're ripping pearl jam. Despite this its a decent rock album. The lead singers vocals are a bit dodgy, he sounds like Pearl Jam singer and his lyrics are meaningless aswell and total crap. There are a few good tunes on the album, Little things and a really good guitar riff in Machine Head. They are very popular in america for some reason but compared to other British rock groups like Oasis, Manics and even Stereophonics they are like a pub band. The cover is crap and the picture on the back of the CD showing the band to be ugly bald bastards and long haired muppets. I put on the CD to remind myself while I was typing this reveiw so Im going to finish at this point so I can turn it off.... Read review

.... I don't know alot about Kate Bush's background (Not yet anyway!) But I do know that I love her music and will hopefully buy all her albums. If you're starting out as a new Kate Bush fan I recommend this album to be your first as it is quite easy to listen to. I liked it for a start. If you have heard 'Hounds of Love' which she released ages ago that song is on this album and is another one which moved me slightly, the lyrics mainly. Well anyway a very good album so buy it! By the way I say the Cd inlay and cover design and content is 'mediocre' because the Cd I actually purchased has a different inlay and cover to the rest I've seen since in other shops. There are lyrics to all the songs but everything is very plain unlike others I've seen in shops. Not that it REALLY matters. Just letting people know that there are different albums... Read review

...You sometimes forget exactly how much good stuff Kate Bush was actually responsible for until you hear something like this, where all her hits are collected together in one wonderful package. This collects them all together in one place - from the memorable and distinctive debut Wuthering Heights right up until the later experimental stuff like The Dreaming and it's all wonderful. I have to say that you should really experience the Whole Story with the videos, which you can get on the video version of this greatest hits album, but the CD is still pretty damn fine stuff. She was just so good, with real stunners like Army Dreamers, Sat In Your Lap, Babooshka and the rest. This is a must have album for the collections of anyone who is serious about music. I cannot recommend it more strongly - buy it!... Read review

...Why is grunge used as an insult, be this album grunge or not i don't care cos it is amazing. I don't know if you can wear CD's out by listening to them to much but i think this may happen to my 16 stone. Glycerine is one of the most beautiful tracks i have ever heard, Little things has got the most wonderful guitars, Machinehead has the power that the album needs, Comedown just makes me want to cry. This could go on for ever so i'll stop. If you like bush then why the hell haven't you already got this one? if you don't like them then get this anyway because it is brillient. ....This is by far the best value DVD player on the market!! We already had a DVD player but mum in law decided to buy us one anyway and were we surprised! Once out of the box it was as sleek as a panther, slimline and silver looking like it cost a hell of a lot more than th £59.99 that it was bought for. Measuring just 36cmW x 6cm H x 28cm L, it takes up virtually no space and has the space age look most of us are looking for! Ive never had a very high opinion of Bush products but put it through its paces anyway and thought someone had muddled the nameup... was this not a Sony? The picture quality is excellent with a function to swop widescreen movies to normal screen size. As well as DVD's the 2023 will happily accomodate CD's, MP3's, CD-R's and CD-RW's with the same simplicity as it takes to read the DVD...just put in the disc... Read review
