Bush 2009 sending budget DVD into a new era
Review of Bush DVD 2002 by
cascade
Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: You cant complain at this price!
...Budget Bush does it again! Bush has a good record when it comes to their budget DVD players, and this model is no exception. The Bush 2009 is a good all round player. The players has good sound performance and brilliant pictures quality which could be expected to only feature on more expensive models. The machine is easy to use and has a well-designed, user-friendly remote control. The player has a good range of sockets which include optical output, s-video outputs and the regular scart socket. All this for the small price of £170, what a bargain!...

Cheap and Cheerful
Review of Bush DVD 2000 by
jr44
Advantages: cheap, user friendly
Disadvantages: silver colour may put some off
...The Bush DVD player was a gift of mine to my father, who was delighted at the prospect of owning one. I must admitt that I was also rather impressed as we took it out of the packaging. A real beauty! The smooth lines and futuristic design gives the impression of a very expensive piece of kit, but the £140 I paid was far from expensive. The RRP is usually £180, but with a bit of pursuasion towards the nice people at Richer Sounds, the price was soon agreed.
As for general operation, we have no complaints. Simply plug the Bush in, connect the scart lead and throw in a disk. The remote control is also easy to understand so almost no manual reference required.
The DVD player is multi region (although I think this is a little overhyped as all the DVD's we own or are likely to own are on the one region), has all the usual gadgetry (freeze...

Bush DVD2051 with Divx - Bargain!
Review of Bush DVD 2051 by
cambria83
Advantages: Divx Playback, Plays DVD-r discs, very cheap, attractive
Disadvantages: None
...After my previous DVD player packed in I set out for a cheap replacement with my requirements being that it played divx files and dvd-r discs! (oh and that it looked nice too).
After trawling the internet for a couple of hours the BUSH DVD2051 caught my eye at a bargain price in Argos of just £29.99!! I quickly snapped it up and I couldn't be more pleased!!
It plays all DVD's flawlessly to a high standard including DVD's with just DIVX or XVID files on them, meaning I can fit up to 6 DVD's onto one disc after converting them.
The supplied remote control is also a bonus because you sometimes get cheap ones thrown in with the cheaper players but this one is up to scratch and of a high quality.
The added bonus of this DVD player is that it looks very attractive too.
So if you're after a cheap DVD player then I'd definitely recommend...

Bush 2002 DVD player £179
Review of Bush DVD 2002 by
Benatwork
Advantages: Good value, good looking, easy multi-region hack
Disadvantages: Perhaps not so many features as a high price model
...I paid £179 for my Bush DVD 2002 and I've had it for about three months. I found the instructions incredibly confusing thanks to different set-ups for surround sound TV and stereo. But if you have a scart socket on your TV (you probably do) then you don't need the instructions. The player itself is suprisingly big but as with all new technology they'll most likley be half as big by the end of the year. Still, the remote control is extreemley easy to use and has all the buttons you'll ever need without being confusing. I'd say for a budget model this is one of the best deals around, and if you're interested (as I was) in playing american discs as well, the hack is really simple and is done via the remote control....

DVDs, DIVX, and looks fantastic.
Review of Bush DVD 2054 by
techno_man_37
Advantages: DVDs, DIVX, and looks fantastic.
Disadvantages: none
...Before I bought this DVD player Id never really owned a DVD player before. I had however had and still do have a ps2 on which I used to play my DVDs.
I never really went and still don’t go on this so much so I was going to sell it and buy a DVD player.
In the end I decided to just keep the ps2 and to get a cheaper DVD player than I was looking for in the first place.
The main reason why I wanted a new DVD instead of the one in the ps2 was so I could play divx format DVDs on it. The DVD player in a ps2 doesn’t recognise this format and scene as I have several divx movies already on disk and on my laptop to put onto disk then I wanted a DVD player that would recognise and play this format.
Another plus to this format is that it saves space on disks as it compresses movies into smaller file sizes without compromising...

The dvd player with it all but very little cost
Review of Bush DVD 2023 by
Dani347
Advantages: Cheap, easy to use
Disadvantages: high piched noise when turned off
...I bought this DVD player about two months ago and have not looked back since. I paid only £59.99 for this piece of modern machinery and have not looked back.
When i bought the DVD player, I was slightly worried that it would take me ages to set it up and tune in the channels etc, but I couldn't have been more wrong.
All I had to do is plug it in, connect the scart lead to the back of the player and the other end to the TV and away you go. There was no need to tune a channel because of this scart lead, which is something new to me. As soon as you turn on the DVD player, it connects to the TV and displays the Bush screen saver or menu of the DVD you have put in to play.
With the silver casing, this DVD player is modern and fits in with most decor.
The remote and functions are easy to understand and use. You have all the standard...

Good basic family DVD player but nothing special
Review of Bush DVD2042 by
drifter_2000
Advantages: Simple and compact. Easy for all the family to use
Disadvantages: Not as durable as some models. No disc memory.
..., the Bush 2042 is good for the basics of a DVD player but if you're after anything more sophisticated it's probably better to look elsewhere. I also wouldn't describe it as a budget model, as the Yamada unit is better value....

Never gets bushed!
Review of Bush DVD 2023 by
lisaleahjack
Advantages: Cheap, unbreakable, looks great!
Disadvantages: are there any?
....This is by far the best value DVD player on the market!!
We already had a DVD player but mum in law decided to buy us one anyway and were we surprised!
Once out of the box it was as sleek as a panther, slimline and silver looking like it cost a hell of a lot more than th £59.99 that it was bought for. Measuring just 36cmW x 6cm H x 28cm L, it takes up virtually no space and has the space age look most of us are looking for!
Ive never had a very high opinion of Bush products but put it through its paces anyway and thought someone had muddled the nameup... was this not a Sony?
The picture quality is excellent with a function to swop widescreen movies to normal screen size.
As well as DVD's the 2023 will happily accomodate CD's, MP3's, CD-R's and CD-RW's with the same simplicity as it takes to read the DVD...just put in the disc...

A bit of a Shock
Review of Bush DVD 2002 by
millec199
Advantages: Multiregion, Dolby Digital Decoder.
Disadvantages: May Not be Avalible Anymore.
...Available from Argos this was a bit of a shock. I wanted a Multi-Region DVD player with a built in Dolby Digital Decoder and this £179 player fits both.
It is multi regional by a hack (open tray press 7 7 enter, Change region to 13 for multi region) and has a built in DD decoder.
On the outside the player looks and feels cheap. The tray is a cheap and the buttons on the front feel cheap. But inside is a nice little player. The picture is sharp and the sound is great.
One very good feature is remote. It looks good and has all of the functions needed as well. I
As this DVD has a built in Dolby Digital Decoder you only need a 5 channel amp to have full Digital and saves money for home cinema.
All in all a great little player with lots of good features. And all this for £170 a bargain.
I has put this DVD with a Pioneer 409RDS 6...

Cheap Multi-Region Player
Review of Wharfedale 750 by
Vistaway
Advantages: Multi-region, good features and quality.
Disadvantages: Horrible remote control
...As my second DVD player, the Wharfedale 750 is the cheap, budget one. Less that $179 at Tescos puts this one in the budget category, but the price is deceiving for the high-quality you get. The player is available under several different names (Bush, Proline), with only slight cosmetic differences. The Wharfedale version certainly didn't win any design awards, as the unit is black, plain and squared. The remote is the worst part of the player: small and ugly, with tiny buttons arranged without any sense of logic. Forgetting about the remote, we get to the REAL reason I bought the player - its multi-region capability. Just place a disc in the open tray - press 1,2,3 and play on the remote and...you have a multi-region player. Since all of my DVDs are from North America, this was essential, and I am still able to play Region 2 discs...
