Never gets bushed!
Review of Bush DVD 2023 by lisaleahjack

Advantages: Cheap, unbreakable, looks great!
Disadvantages: are there any?

....This is by far the best value DVD player on the market!! We already had a DVD player but mum in law decided to buy us one anyway and were we surprised! Once out of the box it was as sleek as a panther, slimline and silver looking like it cost a hell of a lot more than th £59.99 that it was bought for. Measuring just 36cmW x 6cm H x 28cm L, it takes up virtually no space and has the space age look most of us are looking for! Ive never had a very high opinion of Bush products but put it through its paces anyway and thought someone had muddled the nameup... was this not a Sony? The picture quality is excellent with a function to swop widescreen movies to normal screen size. As well as DVD's the 2023 will happily accomodate CD's, MP3's, CD-R's and CD-RW's with the same simplicity as it takes to read the DVD...just put in the disc... Read review

DVD HEAVEN - THE BUSH 2023
Review of Bush DVD 2023 by sonic1971

Advantages: EASY TO USE, JUST PLUG IN AND USE, cheap
Disadvantages: Cost of DVD films, the attached plug

...WOW WOW WOW. That’s about all I can say about the Bush DVD 2023 “the digital versatile disc player”. I thought the other day, ClairesCult can vouch for this, that I needed a DVD player. I needed one so bad that I had to go and buy the first one I saw. But as, I am under the thumb, the wife suggested I looked around. So I did. I first went to the “power house” on the team valley trading estate in Gateshead. They were selling a Bush DVD for £89. It was gorgeous. Chrome all around it, so much so you could see you face in it. I thought and I thought and decided I was going to buy it. Until me and the wife (her indoors) were doing our weekly shop in the local co-op. I spotted, a Bush DVD, but for only £79. Whereas the first one was bulky, this was slim line. To my delight it was the DVD2023. So I decided to buy it... Read review

The dvd player with it all but very little cost
Review of Bush DVD 2023 by Dani347

Advantages: Cheap, easy to use
Disadvantages: high piched noise when turned off

...I bought this DVD player about two months ago and have not looked back since. I paid only £59.99 for this piece of modern machinery and have not looked back. When i bought the DVD player, I was slightly worried that it would take me ages to set it up and tune in the channels etc, but I couldn't have been more wrong. All I had to do is plug it in, connect the scart lead to the back of the player and the other end to the TV and away you go. There was no need to tune a channel because of this scart lead, which is something new to me. As soon as you turn on the DVD player, it connects to the TV and displays the Bush screen saver or menu of the DVD you have put in to play. With the silver casing, this DVD player is modern and fits in with most decor. The remote and functions are easy to understand and use. You have all the standard... Read review

The science of things
Review of Bush - Bush by l33te

Advantages: x
Disadvantages: x

...This album really disaointed me from Bush. I don't know what they or their record company were thinking at the time but to be truthfull it's crap. Razorblade suitcase and Sixteen Stone both are top albums but The science of things really was a mystake and drags bush down, down, down. Also, if anyone reading this thinks that Bush are trying to rip off Nirvana, think again. They rip off pearl Jam if anybody and that's ok. Bush are one of the only British Rock bands that have really made it in my eyes.... Read review

Bush 2009 sending budget DVD into a new era
Review of Bush DVD 2002 by cascade

Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: You cant complain at this price!

...Budget Bush does it again! Bush has a good record when it comes to their budget DVD players, and this model is no exception. The Bush 2009 is a good all round player. The players has good sound performance and brilliant pictures quality which could be expected to only feature on more expensive models. The machine is easy to use and has a well-designed, user-friendly remote control. The player has a good range of sockets which include optical output, s-video outputs and the regular scart socket. All this for the small price of £170, what a bargain!... Read review

The Whole and delightful Kate Bush
Review of Whole Story, The - Kate Bush by GreyDove

Advantages: Best of Kate Bush on one CD
Disadvantages: should have made it two !!

...I think this CD album defines Kate Bush …in my listening ear. It is an asset any Kate Bush fan’s collection, in particular those who are going through that expensive vinyl to CD migration. I bought this in the sale last month for only £7.99, which is very reasonable as her albums normally retail for full price. The warm, pleasurable and haunting voice of Kate Bush and the best of her compelling and often personal-complex lyrics are all present in this album. I find her material enchanting and easy to unwind and listen to, okay it may be a flashback to the 70’s/80’s but the songs are as good now as they definitely were then. This album might appeal to music lovers of all tastes because on one CD you have the majority of Kate Bush’s hits from the late 1970’s through to mid1980’s. There are twelve tracks in total, it might be useful... Read review

George W. Bush
Review of Everything that starts with G ... by jamesd

Advantages: Amusing and will make you smile
Disadvantages: They could be a little bit too close to the truth

...A couple of funnies I found about the about president, hope you like them. Number 1 Early this morning a devastating fire destroyed the personal library of President George W Bush. Tragically, both books were lost in the conflagration. Mrs Bush told members of the press that due to his hectic schedule, Mr Bush had not even had time to colour in the second one. Number 2 President George W Bush is visiting an elementary school today and he visits one of the classes (4th grade). They are in the middle of a discussion related to words and their meanings. The teacher asks the President if he would like to lead the class in the discussion of the word, "tragedy." So Bush asks the class for an example of a "tragedy." One little boy stands up and offers, "If my best friend, who lives next door, is playing in the street and a car comes... Read review

Inaccessible but striking
Review of Dreaming, The - Kate Bush by dave27

Advantages: Pushing the boundaries
Disadvantages: Some misses

...The Dreaming, an experimental, courageous, though arguably over serious album, was Kate Bush’s follow up to Never For Ever in September 1982. Just under two years in the making, the album wa sproduced by Kate herself, a role she had been moving toward since Lionheart. Sat In Your Lap, inspired by a Stevie Wonder gig, and trailed as a single as early as July 1981, was indicative of what was to follow: complex lyrics; a deepening of Kate’s vocal timbre; a heavy use of polyphonic synthesisers, and an oppressive, almost claustrophobic production. The album, recorded in three separate studios, each carefully chosen not only for acoustic quality but for ambience and vibe, featured some unusual guest artists. Rolf Harris and animal impressionist Percy Edwards appeared on the title track, which delineated the plight of the Australian... Read review

Journeys With George
Review of Journeys With George by eddie7sf

Advantages: Shows a unique side of a powerful man.
Disadvantages: Technical quality is rather poor.

...Depressed by the outcome of the US Presidential election? Then take heart in this documentary, a candid film about George Bush that shows he isn't quite as stupid, or evil, as he's made out to be. Journeys With George is the best kind of documentary. Something entirely accidental that was caught on film. As film begins, George Bush is campaigning to win the Republican nomination for President, long before he won the White House. As he campaigns, select members of the press follow him around, reporting what he is up to. One of them is Alexanda Pelosi, and she happened to bring a video camera. There is no way that Pelosi could have known that Bush would win the nomination (at the time, John McCain looked the most likely candidate), and so the documentary seems to gain importance as it continues. Winning the nomination and becoming... Read review

I know they can do it so why dont they
Review of Razorblade Suitcase - Bush by crustypaul

Advantages: It's good
Disadvantages: but it could be so much better

...The lesson to be learnt from bush's Razorblade Suitcase album is that you should never let Steve Albini produce anything if you want to get it right. The man may be king of badly recorded hardcore but that does not really qualify him to produce a band like bush. I would not say that this album was a bad job as it has got some fairly huge tunes on it but in no way is it anywhere near the standard of the previous album, 16 stone. The track 'Swallowed' is a good song but once again we have the situation where the big single from an album just sticks out like a sore thumb. Bush should have stuck to just playing huge songs with a passion instead of trying to get too clever about it all which is what they seen to have done here.... Read review
