HP C4480 Printer - Great all-rounder

Advantages: High text and image print quality; prints, scans and copies; good value for money
Disadvantages: Not got wireless; software is a bit complicated

...I purchased this printer about 9 months ago, for starting my second year at university (my previous printer packed up). At the time, I got it for around £40, as it was on offer in Tesco; the price varies but you can definitely still pick it up for under £50, though it is worth keeping an eye out for special offers in stores. This printer/photocopier/scanner all-in-one unit is a fantastic bargain, offering so many features for the price. As a student, it is in regular use, printing out lecture slides, coursework and other documents. Word documents print quickly, even on the higher quality settings, and the text is always clear (except on the ultra-fast draft setting where the alignment of text goes a bit off). Printer Breakdown Nightmare.

Advantages: Stylish, easy to use, slimline, space saving, very cheap inks
Disadvantages: broke down, JUST after WARRENTY had run out, colour print speed

That was WHILE it worked. JUST after the warrenty ran out, the print quality started to decrease, untill it could not print at all. We were told by a printer expert that the print head had broken. Addmittedly the printer had been used regularly for document printer and photocopying, but only the kind of use to be expected for such a machine. Brother DCP-115C / DCP110C

Advantages: high quality prints
Disadvantages: far too many errors and problems..

...My first DCP-110C lasted just over 6 months and was replaced by the newer model DCP-115C. All seemed fine and dandy until around 10 months later started having problems again. This printer is a superb all rounder and creates brilliant pictures WHEN IT WORKS.. Had my first printer not been replaced I certainly wouldnt go for a brother again. I was attracted to it due to the cheap inks available as my last printer a Lexmark (which was simply amazing) was just far too expensive for ink. The DCP-115C keeps failing every so often and when you are lucky enough to get it working(when its in a good mood) you will be pleased with its results. The main fault I am getting now (again) is with the inks. It wont accept new inks for some reason and I have tried numerous cartridges and searched Brothers site for help yet nothing is working yet again...

...750GB for £130 is an unbelievable offer, a real bargain. This hard drive is very similar in look and feel to the other Passport versions that Western Digital has, in particular the Book with a glowing yellow circle that is very nice to look at and quite heavy to boot.
