...When it comes to home printer HP is thought of as one off the best in the field and this model emphases this reputation. The printer fires outs quickly good quality prints and is quiet in the process. I bought this for my desktop from the person I bought my computer from. I got the HP 960c after I was advised to. I think at the time it cost about £150. The printer is much plainer than the HP DeskJet 5550 I also own. However still think that it is stylish. The design has to basic colours incorporate in to it these are dark grey and light almost cream grey. This may not sound that nice but it is ok. The size and shape of he printer is practical, and this design give the printer a compact size. This allows a doubled up input tray, meaning it can sit on any shelf under your desk without trouble. Digital Ixus 960 IS

Advantages: Image quality, face recognition, viewfinder, ease of use.
Disadvantages: 3.7 zoom, user guide.

I bought the Canon Ixus 960 IS as a solution to taking a digital SLR, plus lenses etc. due to hand luggage restrictions as it easily fits in a pocket. The image quality is pin sharp, focussing exceptional and since I have problems with camera shake due to arthritis I was overjoyed to find that the image-stabiliser technology works really well, except in the very darkest of night shots (taken on the cruise ship's deck). Facial recognition works surprisingly well, even when multiple faces are grouped together. The 3.7x zoom is the only real drawback, but it's a small enough niggle. Don't let the modest specification put you off

Advantages: Comact, comprehensive functions, easy to use
Disadvantages: A bit clunky, eats batteries, mine died on me

...OLYMPUS famed for their single lens reflex and compact 35mm film cameras are well respected for the quality of equipment, their digital cameras are fast earning a similar reputation. The C-960ZOOM was my first 'proper' digital camera, and I would still be using it today, had it not developed a fault, and was subsequently lost by the repair company. The design is at least a couple of years old, and as such, may appear rather low specification in comparison with more modern digital cameras. Don't let this put you off, there are plenty of features which compensate for this, not least of which is that the cost of this unit has dropped considerably. A recent check on Ebay reveals that a pristine second user example can be had for under a hundred pounds. The camera itself is very heavily modelled on a compact 35mm configuration...
