...the c12 is small and functional but basic. There are about 12 ring tones to choose from all are crap and you can't download others from the internet either. The rubber keys are quite unresponsive and scrolling through the options is quite labourous and slow. The tarrif its on is annoying because you have to top up every 90 days and the phone can only be used on this tarrif so it is a bit unflexible. It is really a budjet phone for pay as you go people although it feels durable and is small enough to hide in a shirt pocket....

c12 forever-well it was until now

Advantages: cheap and with lots of extras, easy to use

...I have had my c12 phone for about a year and a half now and I would be totally lost without it. It is on the BT cellnet network and it keeps my communications which are of the upmost importance running very sweet indeed. The phone itself is quite small and can be bought in black, green and yellow. When they first came out red was advertised but I dont know where they can be found as I searched high and low for one but couldnt find one so settled for black as yellow wasnt out at the time. For numbers you use the most you are able to store three of them as hotkeys on your phone which means you only have do hold the key down and it calls through. Which is handy instead of you having to go right through your phone list to get a number. I tend to call the same numbers all the time so most of them I dial from the call lists. In the phone...

Why i like the philips c12

...My first mobile phone was the Philips c12. I guess i bought it mainly coz it was one of the cheaper ones, it cost me £39.99. It has little icons to make text messaging more fun and stores loads of phone numbers. It also has a bio-calendar game to let you know how much luck and love you will have on a day you choose to find out about. Its quite a nice looking phone, and small enough to fit in your pocket, but the screen is not very big. All in all its a good little phone and the battery holds charge well, so at a good price, what more could you ask for?...

...As there has been a rapid increase in the amount of mobile phones and computer technology, mobile phones go out of date so fast. The Philips C12 is a phone that has been around for quite a while now. However it continues to be a good phone and one of the best for text messaging. The phone has a 90 name and number memory, an alarm clock, a biorhythm game (one of those birthday things) and weighs around 140g. Its best feature is its text messaging. It may not be as good as the Nokia phones, however, text messaging icons can be sent from any C12 to another. These icons range from smile faces and love hearts to a bottle of wine. They are sent pretty fast and are fairly reliable. The phone I had was on a BT cellnet network, but I am unsure if it is available on other networks. Philips C12 isn't that bad!

Advantages: It's easy to use
Disadvantages: It could have come in different colours

...Most people I know think that the Philips C12 is not a very good phone as it doesn't have any games or special ring tones and that you can't change the covers on it. I own a Philips C12 and i am very pleased with it. It has ok ring tones and is small and light weight. Ok so it doesn' have 'snakes' on it but i find it a very easy to use phone. you can also send text messages with icons on it too so who says it isn't trendy! Overall i think that it is a great phone that is easy to use and not too tarty....

...The Philips C12 is a fantastic phone, its small, light, has a lot of features and the battery lasts for ages, the battery on my phone lasts for about 6 days!. The menus on the phone are well laid out and the screen and keys are backlit. The build quality of the phone seems good and there are about 2 dozen different ring tones, which leads me onto my one complaint...you cannot change the audio alert you get when receiving a message! this can get get very confusing. There a three of us in my office with this phone and a message tone sends us all scrambling...

PHILIPS C12 A BARGAIN

Advantages: cost of purchase and ease of use.
Disadvantages: none found ( bearing price in mind )

...Just a month ago I bought two mobile C12 mobile phones from a Link shop which are connected to BT cellnet. The reduced offer price was / is £29.99 and included £5 worth of calls. I only wanted a pay as you go phone for the occasional emergency or urgent call and not for chatting ( having spent hours on a moorside road stranded with a car which had run out of petrol!) To date it has proved excellent value and is very easy to use. message sending and retention is good,( both text and verbal ) connection and clarity excellent, cost of usage is much less than anticipated - still have over £2 left of the original £5 included amount - top up is easy via credit or debit card and keeping batteries charged is also easy. I also give praise to the assistant in the Link shop for genuinely impartial advice to a confirmed technophobe !...
