Advantages: Epic fuel economy Disadvantages: Uncomfortably loud on the motor way
...If all you want is a cheap and chearful run about, the Citroen C1 should be a contender. I own a Vibe in red which is the bottom of the range model.
Features, or lack of.
Electric windows, Electric mirrors, Central locking, Air con, are just some of the things this car doesn't have. Which I do miss, but it does keep costs down. Although the integrated CD player and mp3 input are a great touch. The rear window wiper is adequate and another nice touch. As I have the three door version you have to move your seat to allow passengers in, annoyingly you have to find your original seat position from scratch.
Is it safe?
Fingers crossed I've never had an accident in it but according to Euro NCAP it has a four star safety rating. However the Vibe doesn't have side impact airbags unlike the next model up, the Rhythm. What I did think was...

Review of Citroen C1
Advantages: Cheap to buy and insure, nippy and very economical with fuel! Disadvantages: No central locking on the basic model!
...Recently my R reg Citroen Saxo decided that it had had enough and finally gave up on me. I was therefore confronted with the task of searching for another car. I needed something that was cheap to buy and cheap to insure, (as i am a 23 year old man!) It didn't take me long to come across the Citreon C1. The body and most of the interior is exactly the same as the Peugeot 107 and the Toyota Aygo. To look at it is very nice and it is also very nice to drive. Despite its 1.0l engine it is very nippy when pulling off and can pick up speed quite quickly. It is also the most economic car when it comes to fuel i have ever driven!!!! All in all, i am very happy with my purchase. The only downsides are as follows, (although these are all because i bought the basic, and cheapest, model.) It only comes in red!! It has NO CENTRAL LOCKING...

Review of Citroen C1
Advantages: Nippy, funky and cheap to run Disadvantages: none found yet
...The first time I saw this car I fell in love with it. It looks very 'funky' with the rev counter sticking up behind the steering wheel and a great dashboard which glows orange! It also has a good cd player which comes as standard with an outlet so that an mp3 player can be plugged into it.
I brought the Rhythm model as it has extra side airbags , I also paid extra for air con (£500) and parking sensors (£470) which are fitted to the front and back, very handy for squeezing into the smallest space, which you can do with these cars. (although I have to admit that these have become a little annoying as they bleep everytime I turn the engine on) The base model, The Vibe, starts at 6560 for 3 doors and 6945 for 5 doors, the Rhythm 5 door is 7525 and the 1.4 diesel from 8525. There is also an option on the petrol models to have...

Review of Citroen C11.0i
Advantages: Great road handling and very eco friendly Disadvantages: only one - no door on storage area
...The new boy in my life ? C1 in a slinky black shade.
Having lost my car to the garage for the week ( yet another expensive MOT bill looming!!) I have had the pleasure and yes it has been a pleasure to drive my partner?s car. The C1 ( or loving referred to as the Micro-machine by my son).
I have borrowed it a couple of times to pop to the shops but not really taken it on a longer run. Having driven it for most of this week I felt the need to share my experience of it with you. If you are thinking of buying a small, economical but nippy car this should definitely be one to consider.
~~~~ Why did my partner chose this car? ~~~~
My partner really wanted a small, cheap to run car that would also be reliable and easy to maintain. After looking around for several weeks his search was narrowed down to a couple of Corsas, a Clio...
Review of Citroen C1
Advantages: Great engine, Neat interior, Character, Economy, VED £40 , Insurance-Group 1 Disadvantages: Low speed ride, No auto light for passenger door, Rear wiper too short
...Having learned quite a lot in a hurry, part of me hopes that this account can save a few people from themselves, or at least from their partners. The other part just says this is a great little car ........
The road I took to buy a C1 was rather tortuous, not to say bumpy, and started with the exchange of our six-year-old Ka for a "very silly" Toyota MR2, which was made on a sunny day and entirely on impulse. Immediately after this transaction, and on arrival back at the ranch, a few terse comments preceded an eerie calm which reminded me strongly of the eye of a hurricane. Clearly, and before the weather changed for the worse, I had to try to correct matters double quick
Planning to put things right by reversing the exchange of cars i.e. back to the "much more sensible" one, I returned to the Toyota garage. Our old Ka was said...
Review of Citroen C1
Advantages: Cheap good looking spacious little car with good MPG Disadvantages: Price isn't everything
...history. My grandparent's was built in the 1950 and has 2 toilets; one upstairs and the other that's only accessible from the garden. And the best part about it -they still use both to this day.
But what on earth has any of this got to do with a baby Citroen you ask? Well within a few miles of my first ever drive in our little courtesy car I couldn't help wondering why on earth people buy something that feels like it dropped out of the last century? Why, when there's all these other things you could spend your money on would you want to invest in something that has all creature-comforts of a wheelbarrow?
And it's this exploration of the seemingly unfathomable quandary to which I dedicate this review.
BACK GROUND
The Citroen C1 was launched a few years back as an unlikely joint venture between the PSA group (Peugeot and Citroen...
Review of Citroen C1
Advantages: Smart and cheap to run Disadvantages: Doesnt come with glovebox lid as standard.
...I currently own a Citroen C1 VTR in metallic Carlinite Grey and I love it. It is very comfortable inside and quite spacious to say it is small. The interior may be cheap but it is rather funky and looks modern. The boot is quite small, but for a girl, I just use the back seats to put all my shopping on.
The car comes in quite a few colours e.g. black grey, silver, red, electric blue and mica green. They all suit the car no matter what colour you go for.
The car is really cheap to run, the tax for the year is about £35, and it costs on average £30 for a full tank which gets me 400 miles when driven economically.
The downsides for me is that the car as standard comes with no glovebox lid, no rear speakers, the standard headunit isn't the best of quality. It is ok if you aren't bothered about music in your car, but if you enjoy...
Review of Citroen C1
Advantages: cheap to run, suprisingly spacious Disadvantages: Not many colour options
...My wife has just brought a C1 Airplay and I have to say im pleasantly suprised.
Interior:
Its decievingly spacious inside comfortably fitting four adults.
It has 12 storage compartments in the dash, central console and doors . The seats are very comfortable and the dash well designed, but what were Citroen thinking when they designed the air circulation controls!!!! Tacky springs to mind.The trim inside does look cheap on closer inspection( red or chrome depending on exterior colour -high gloss trim inserts on the Airplay) but overall the interior is very astheticaly pleasing and quality is really quite good for such a cheap car.The stereo is of reasonable quality and the Ipod nano and docking station is a nice touch (available only with the Airplay model)- More manufacturers should offer this as an option.Also included are electric...
