...Thought it would be a good idea to review an ixus 60 as I work with them most days and own one myself. I upgraded to an ixus 60 from an Olympus C450 last year in order to go away on holiday with. I had been speaking to a canon rep not long before this and had sold dozens of these cameras to customers so i thought it was a good solid camera to buy. I like the camera because of its metal casing, not many cameras have this but instead opt for a plastic casing which tends to warp in heat and crack when dropped. The huge 2.5inch LCD screen on the back is clear and made from a light absorbing material as to not get much of a glare from the sun when shooting with the sun behind you. Also, the ixus 60 keeps the use of a viewfinder, a move which many cameras have done away with and those that still have a viewfinder have a flaw called paralax... Read review

...I have an Olympus case SIMILAR to this which holds the C150, C220, C350 and the C450. It has a lovely soft leather feel to it on the outside, with a very convenient pouch at the front that can contain memory cards. It is line on the inside by very nice cotton like fabric that is soft, and will protect the camera immensely well. This has been extra useful because in the past I have had cards bent due to contact with the camera so this has been extra handy. The price on Amazon (which is the only place I could find it at) is £14.99, OUCH! I hear you say. I would certainly not have payed that price for it, and probably not got it at all. ...I was struggling to decide what to cook for dinner tonight when a long forgotten packet of 6 of these little beauties feel out of the freezer! I thought - why not give them a go. I had on brought them as they were 50% extra free. Cooking ------------ These faggots come handily packaged in a tin foil tray so you need do no more that lossen the edges and pop them into a pre-heated oven at 230 C/450 F/Gas Mark 8 for 35 -45 minutes depending on how good your oven is. Or you could microwave them but I understand from others they can be like mush done like this! Serving ---------- I have read comments about them falling apart after cooking, from asking around this tends to only happen when you cook them for too long. ...I have flown Zoom twice to Toronto and once to Calgary from London Gatwick and have found both journeys pleasent. The in-flight service is excellent, with the nice and helpful crew, the in-flight movies are also very good. It's just a pitty the food has to spoil it. Also the aircraft was extremely old. The second time i flew Zoom, the flight was diverted to Birmigham where the flight was operated by Air Transat who are yet to update thier aircrafs. I wish they had used the aircraft that took us to Birmingham (the nice blue one). I don't have any negatives about the airline apart from the crappy food and the aircraft. I think Zoom should stretch their service to Birmingham. I am aware that they have launched services from Machester which will take over Air Canada's position. They come in a west country sauce which is a bit like gravy but is a bit thicker and has a distinctive taste that i cant really describe, also i found that there wasnt much of it. The faggots are basically made from offal the bits of meat leftovers and add in a bit of onion, this all sounds a bit disgusting but take it from me they taste delicious. ~~~~~~~~~~The Cooking~~~~~~~~~~~ They come in a siver tray but there are two ways that you can cook faggots Oven-Loosen the edges all around the tray and pop them in 230C/ 450F or gas mark 8 for 30-40 mins. ...The Olympus TCON-17 Converter simply increases the focal length of your camera by a factor of 1.7, without changing the aperture. In other words, the zoom on your camera is increased by a factor of 1.7, i.e. 5x zoom without lens, 8.5x zoom with lens, (5x1.7=8.5). The lens can be used with a range of different Olympus cameras, including: C-740 Ultra Zoom, C-750 Ultra Zoom, C-765 Ultra Zoom, C-770 Movie SP-500 Ultra Zoom. The lens does require an adapter ring for certain models, to step-up the thread diameter to 55mm. Through the use of a CLA-4 adapter ring I use the TCON-17 lens with my Olympus SP500-UZ camera. The SP500 already has a massive 10x optical zoom, however, with the lens attached, it boosts it to 17x zoom, great for wildlife photography when its just not possible to get close enough for a decent shot... ...Zoom is just so very slowwwwwwwww! I logged onto there basically to see if I could find any cheap principals goodies. After 10 minutes I gave up having really got know where at all on the site. Its difficult to navigate due to its slowness. A friend did get further than me but she said it was not worth the effort as what you did see in the end was no different from what was in the shops any way. Basically you'll find (eventually)the Arcadia group shops on here eg Dot Perkins Evans and Principles. To sum it up you'll not zoom out of here with a bargain.... Read review
