The best hotel I have ever stayed in
Review of Caesars Palace, Las Vegas by
Happychap
Advantages: Superb quality, great entertainment and plenty to do
Disadvantages: High minimum bets in the casino
...Two of my friends decided that they were going to go to Vegas to get married and we though we would love to stay at Caesars Palace. It worked out roughly £1,000 for a deluxe room for two on a room only basis for 7 nights.
When we got to the hotel itself we were not disaapointed by the lavish check in area with it's painted ceilings and marble and gold decor. We checked in with another couple and went to our rooms in the forum tower. When we got to our rooms the also didn't disappoint. The deluxe room consisted of a kingsize bed which had a mirrored ceiling above it and it also had a circular bath in the corner of the room which had a shower above it. The room had a TV but the only English channel was sky sports news which only shown at certain times on the Fox Soccer channel. The rest of the features were 2 wardrobes, a small...

Not Caesars Palace, but a Palace in its own right
Review of Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas by
Rog13
Advantages: Good location, good facilities and good price
Disadvantages: Not great for sunbathing
...I had dreamed of visiting the entertainment and gambling capital of the world for many years, and not just through a desire to play poker in some of the world's greatest venues but to see one of the most mind-blowing cities imaginable.
Being brutally honest my partner and I only opted to stay at the Imperial Palace for our week-long trip because of the price, if money wasn't an option then the likes of The Venetian, Bellagio and Caesar's Palace would have been but some of the obvious choices.
Be that as it may I am glad we stayed where we did given the alternatives available on our budget.
The Imperial Palace is ideally located slap bang in the middle of the Las Vegas strip standing just a short walk away from the Mirage, Venetian, Bellagio, Aladin and Caesar's Palace.
Staying at the IP meant we were never too far away from...

Not so mighty Caesar
Review of Julius Caesar DVD by
frkurt
Advantages: Some good performances and scenes
Disadvantages: Overall sketchy, both in production and history
...Recently I saw Jeremy Sisto in a film in the cinema, and as my movie-going friend and I were dissecting the film afterward, we both were impressed with Sisto’s performance, and tried to recall what we’d seen him in before. I remembered this production of Julius Caesar, but only after a while – Sisto’s role in the other film (a light drama with a comedic edge) is very different from the epic, super-serious Julius Caesar.
This production is a good one for a straight-to-television production. It is a four-hour miniseries (the television nomenclature equivalent for ‘epic’). It plays a bit loose with the historic progression, but keeps many of the broad strokes intact – Rome’s trouble under Sulla, Caesar’s early difficulties becoming established, his military alliance and familial partnership with Pompey, destined to falter...

Luxor Hotel Las Vegas - A big fish in a big pond
Review of Luxor Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas by
maxmidnight
Advantages: An unmistakable icon on the Strip, distinctive and with no shortage of class. Exceptional price for exceptional quality of room, service and attraction. Caters for all ages, groups and functional needs. One of the best.
Disadvantages: Watch the queues and price increase around American holidays but at all other times it is a supremely priced hotel.
...To be honest, when ‘The Luxor’ first opened in 1992 I was in Las Vegas at the time staying at the ‘Mirage’ and as a boy in my late teens I thought it looked a little bit tacky and uninspiring. It may have had something to do with the fact that I was staying in one of the higher echelon hotels on the strip and was surrounded by other sensational hotels such as ‘Caesars’ and the ‘MGM Grand’.
It lacked that bit of aura, that mystique that comes with a Las Vegas Casino and Hotel complex. The idea was pretty cool: build a 30-story black pyramid in the middle of the desert and put in hotel rooms and a casino with an Egyptian theme, but it just didn’t have the feel or look of something to rival the big Casino’s.
However once the Mandalay Resorts (the owners of the property) threw a few million dollars (around 300 to be precise...

Good hotel which serves it's purpose
Review of Circus Circus Hotel and Casino, Reno by
BarryLove
Advantages: Comfortable and clean rooms
Disadvantages: Food!
...a sense that this place has seen better days. The corridors and lobbys are always throbbing with people. If you go to Caesar's Palace, The Bellagio, The Venetian or any other hotel in Las Vegas - then you totally realise that Circus Circus is a budget hotel without any classy or luxurious feel about it, unlike the others as mentioned above. You also get a distinct sense that this hotel is visited mainly by white working class American travellers who are in love with the idea of an all you can eat buffet for 10 bucks!
Checking out was easy as the hotel offers an automatic check out service via the television which was convenient as we did not want to face another queue in the lobby again. After checking out via your tv, you can then just deposit your room key in a box beside the elevator.
Location wise - Circus Circus is on the edge...

All hail Caesar!
Review of Caesar 3 (PC) by
sparkly-pink-stars
Advantages: Fun, strategic, entertaining, challenging
Disadvantages: Addictive and time-absorbing
...This is, without a doubt, one of the most addictive computer games known to man! It's definitely stood the test of time; I can remember playing on its predecessor, Caesar II, as a child, so when I saw Caesar III in Game for about £5 a year ago, I snapped it up for nostalgia's sake. It was hands down the best £5 I'd ever spent! A year on it's (embarassingly) one of my big vices - and possibly the biggest hinderance to my dissertation-writing for Uni!
So what is it? Simply put, Caesar III is a simulation game where you create a roman city in various locations. After a few basic levels, you can choose between two alternative scenarios; a peaceful territory where you must focus on building high-quality housing and prosporous cities, or a military scenario where the emphasis is on defending your city and subduing the native...

Yewdale Hotel , Coniston : Food and drinks review.
Review of Yewdale Hotel, Coniston by
zoetna
Advantages: Could not be better positioned at the heart of Coniston.
Disadvantages: Service was slow but friendly.
...We recently spent a few glorious days walking in the Lake District and had forgotten just how beautiful it is there. Based in Coniston and renting one of the Coppermines cottages we had plenty to do during our short stay including walking up the Old Man of Coniston - thats a mountain by the way! - We also spent one day walking from Lake Coniston up into the hills to Tarn Hows which is a simply lovely mountain lake surrounded by hills and woodland.
On the way back it started to rain just as we got into Coniston and so we ducked into the Yewdale Hotel and decided to have a couple of drinks and dinner while we waited out the rain.
This review is therefore for the restaurant only.
The hotel is a Victorian stone and slate building right at the centre of Coniston in a prominent position near the bridge and over the road from...

Caesar Says, read this.... well he does not but.
Review of Caesar III (PC) by
mentalmickey100
Advantages: Excellent Gameplay, Looks Nice,
Disadvantages: Enemys can really get on your nerves.
...If you have played Caesar II then you will basically know what this game is about, It is a strategy game set when Caesar was in power. I will try to explain everything.

This is the first thing you will see when you place the CD-ROM in the drive.
Install Game.
This is where you install the game from, you have 3 different types of install you can do.
Minimum.
This requires 150MB of Hard Drive Space.
Standard.
This requires 330MB Hard Drive Space.
Full.
This requires 542MB Hard Drive Space.
I would reccomend the Full, because it is quicker to load things during the game off the Hard Drive, rather than the CD-ROM, but it depends on your space available on your Hard Drive.
