The Tram Cafe

Advantages: Unique, cheap, excellent location

...within the City. Later, it was given to the Public Transport Museum. In 2000, it was brought back to Prague and was carefully renovated. The trams are placed side by side with a little walkway connecting the two. In one tram there are seating areas, and in the other tram there is a bar with more seating areas and also the toilets. Menu The café is only fairly small so we were surprised to see that, considering its size, it still had quite a varied menu. The café sells various drinks including wines, beer, international spirits such as baileys and Malibu and soft drinks such as coke and sprite. A selection of milkshakes including vanilla and blueberry flavour were also on offer. They serve hot drinks including tea, coffee, hot chocolate and hot fruit juices. ...going to go and have drinks on the roof terrace of the Beluga building which sits on an island in the Wese river and then off to find some tiny restaurant in the historic Schnoor district. The plan went awry when we go to Beluga and found that the roof terrace was closed, presumably because of the high winds. I guess risk-averse German companies don't want customers being blown off their roof. It's probably bad for business. So the plan adapted quickly and the next thing I knew we were in Boettcherstrasse, a cute and arty little alleyway that I know to be Sabine's favourite street in the city. We only intended it as a short cut back to the market square but we started to dither and look in the windows, I found a wall mounted menu outside a small café-restaurant and the next thing I knew, we were hooked. The Mighty Mars Bar

...This is perhaps the most classic chocolate bar from my childhood. It has long been my favourite as a kid and I sort of have to say it still is so as not to feel as if I have disowned it (sorry Mars Bar but I have found other favourites - I still love you though!). 'A Mars a day helps you work rest and play' - this was the little catchphrase that was associated with Mars Bar. Funny really; it's like saying a chocolate bar a day is good for you. The slogan has now changed to 'Pleasure you can't measure' which definitely seems more appropriate. A standard Mars bar comes at 58g, about 11cm long and 1.8cm high. You'll pay about 32p for this bar in supermarkets which is well below the norm of 50p. They used to be more expensive but in recent years, the classic nougat and caramel filling has obviously lost its appeal as new and more...

The cafe: It's only small with approximately ten tables and a soft drinks bar area.
