...I was introduced to the cafe del mar series by a friend back in 1995, what a long time ago! I have never been to the famed cafe in Ibiza, but have purchased all the volumes in this series upto Vol 6. I stopped here because the man that puts them togther stopped, there are others and i'm sure they are good, but they won't be as good as this! Jose Padilla is the master mind behind volumes 1-6, he has such a good understanding of music and the way that it can influence moods and feelings and his selections on the cds are outstanding. I will review each of the 6 as I get the time, but here we will deal with the first... There are 12 tracks on the cd, I think you can still by it in the shops but remeber that it is now 10 years old!! Café Del Mar. Wave the sun goodbye...til tomorrow.

Advantages: perfect spot to watch the sunset

...Sitting on the rocks, sipping a drink, the only noise is from the bar behind playing tranquil and serene music, watching the sun slowly disappear below the sea. Its beautiful. A trip to Ibiza isn't complete with out a visit to San Antonios sunset strip in the bay of Calo des Moro. Café del mar was built in the 1980s. Is is now joined by Mambo, Savannah and Kanya at al but Café Del Mar is still the most renowned. Review of Cafe Del Mar & Cafe Mambo

Cafe del mar vaolume 3.

Advantages: Simply fantastic
Disadvantages: none.

...and I don't mean that badly, its nice to be soothed so much by one cd. The theme on this cd is mostly a natural rythmic feeling, guitars and classical sounds, but with some electric influence, but as i have said, nothing shocking, I have heard alot of these tunes on BBC 1's Holiday programme and i'm sure most people would recognise a few of the tunes at least. There are 13 tracks on this cd, and as usual, they range from different era's, most are from 1996, one from 1991 and track 3, Sueno con Mexico, a classical guitar piece is from 1979. On almost all of the Cafe del mar cd's you will find one track from about 30 years ago, but it will fit in, and its age won't show, infact you will probably find it to be the best track on the cd and will want to find more music by the artists. Volume 3 also boast's the best and most fragile cover...

Hesperia Del Mar

Advantages: Great location & cheap
Disadvantages: Not that many food places around

...I visited Barcelona this July and stayed at the Hotel Hesperia Del Mar for five nights with 3 other friends and I have to honestly say we all loved it! The hotel price which we got from expedia was one of the most competitive around and we were pleasantly surprised when we got to the hotel, for how cheap the hotel was it was quite nice. It cost for five night my share was 145 so the entire room cost was 290. The hotel reception staff were the highlight of the hotel. They are very friendly, warm and always willing to help! The rooms were standard and offered everything we needed. The bathroom was fully equipped with a shower, toilet, bidet and sink with large mirror. The bedroom consisted of 2 single beds and were comfy. There is air conditioning so we never felt hot and flustered in the room unless we turned it off and forgot to put it...

Cafe del mar....Volume 6

Advantages: Oh my, too many to list.
Disadvantages: Absolutly none.

...an array of styles. I am not sure about the availability of this cd, but if you cant find it new, im sure it will be found secondhand somewhere like Ebay. If you like music, good music that enters your soul, then you buy at least a couple of cd's from the series. Mambo No. 1

Advantages: Views, Music, People
Disadvantages: Few... Clouds?

...the first there in the 1980s, followed soon after by Café Mambo. Savannah came in the Mid-90s, and has just celebrated its tenth anniversary. While Café del Mar's reputation is almost solely (excuse pun) based on the sun, Mambo plays host to, well, a host of Radio1 DJs looking for an excuse for a holiday on the white isle, and the BBC station often broadcasts live from the bar; play your cards right and you might get on the radio! I visited Café Mambo on our final night in Ibiza, waiting for a late plane, for a quick bite to eat and a drink. Life On Mars Series 1 Box set

Advantages: A fantastic fantastic series
Disadvantages: Some of the 70s references will be lost on younger people.

A beautiful new nu-opera CD

Advantages: Relaxing, beautiful album, introduction to opera
Disadvantages: May not be of some taste

...I'm 18 years old with a vast taste in music, from garage to world music. I was given this CD by my brother and immediately thought it would not be my cup of tea. I proven instantly wrong. The general sound of the CD could perhaps be regarded as traditional opera, however since it features a backing beat and more soothing I'd classify it as nu genre. The CD is part of the Cafe del mar series. A series with a great reputation for producing quality relaxing music. They are not commercial relaxing releases but are genuinly music that could be found in Spain. Advantages: Excellent atmosphere, Comfortable seating, great low price food, friendly staff.

Advantages: Authentic Coffee, Clean, tidy premises, 1st class ambience and atmosphere

...Caffe Nero is a leading Coffee store Retail Outlet located in many high street, town center, and Airport Lounge venues across England, wales and Scotland. The company sells, Coffee as its main product. Also they stock Tea, cold refreshments, panini sandwiches, cookies, crisps, Chocolates, cakes, and sweets. What I find that makes cafe nero different to other coffee Retail Outlet's is almost a combination of excellent Coffee, and a high standard of Customer Service.
