Advantages: Good range of food, pleasant atmosphere, doesn't seem like part of a chain Disadvantages: None
...The first time I went to CaffeUno (and yes it IS spelled with two F's!) I didn't even realise it was part of a chain! It has just opened up, and it was so nice and so individual, and the food not at all packaged or pre-prepared, that I thought it was one on its own. It really doesn't seem like a chain as it has nice little touches which make it seem special. It wasn't until I went to visit a friend and saw one in her home town that I realised!
CaffeUno is an Italian style cafe restaurant, decorated in a fairly rustic style with wooden tables and wicker chairs (more comfortable than they sound!) and a bar area from behind which drinks are served (although there is nowhere to sit at the bar, it is more for decoration than anything else. The lighting is quite ambient, all in all providing a pleasant atmosphere.
The restaurant...

Review of CaffeUno
Advantages: Good food, fast service, reasonably priced Disadvantages: none
..."You went out for dinner AGAIN?!" screeched my mother down the phone this morning, "No WONDER you're getting short of money!"
It's true - I seem to eat out far too much for someone on a student budget, often to the same places over and over again. But last night I decided to try CaffeUno, a restaurant which, in my one and a half years in Cambridge, I have never got round to trying.
The restaurant itself is stylishly decorated - the interior is warm and simplistic, nothing too over the top. As we walked in we were shown instantly to a table, and we sat down with the menus to choose our meals.
The menu is very Italian, and quite varied. There is a range of about 12 starters, priced from £2.25 to £4.95, including vegetarian options. I went for the "Bocconcini di Mozzarella e Proscuitto", grilled mozarella wrapped in parma ham...

Review of CaffeUno
Advantages: nice coffee, clean, Disadvantages: overpriced mediocre food, no personality
...It was a Thursday evening just after pay day. Duskman and I had met for a drink after work and I could not be bothered cooking. The idea was a cheap and cheerful meal out. A nice bowl of pasta would hit the spot exactly. Manchester has a number of reasonable independent Italian restaurants and pizzerias. However we decided on CafféUno which is part of a chain. I had been past it plenty of times but had never eaten there. I chose it because I thought the name café made it sound reasonable value.
The Manchester City Centre branch is in a prime location facing the Town Hall on Albert Square. It's usually buzzing in the summer with its cosmopolitan outdoor seating. It had a different atmosphere on a gloomy March evening. It was very quiet with only a handful of tables occupied. I really felt the place had no personality or atmosphere...
...to it one day), to name a few. The last one we went to was CaffeUno in Didsbury – my choice based on the fact I was craving their garlic bread, in the way only a garlic bread connoisseur can….
-- The Food --
Typical Italian fare including salads, pasta, pizza and meat dishes and various appetizers and puddings. Their pasta is wonderful - you know how you can just *tell* when it’s ultra fresh? Their Parmesan comes in one of those tiny graters and so doesn’t leave the wedge until your meal is in front of you, thus retaining all it’s flavour - full marks there. The garlic bread is unusual for this area in that it’s not a pizza base style one: instead it’s made from a ciabatta roll sliced in half, lightly toasted and topped with just the right amount of garlic and butter, plus a sprinkling...
Advantages: A great fun family game Disadvantages: None
...Recently I've been playing a lot of games and after exhausting several card games and getting bored with them I realised I had a pack of Uno cards still sealed from last year. I'd bought a new pack for holiday after having played the game as a child and remembering how much fun we used to have playing it. The cards went all that way and got forgotten about in the bottom of my suitcase though. So until recently it was shoved in a corner in my room. I'm so glad that I opened it though as it's given us hours of fun.
So what is Uno?
Uno is a simple card game, which can be played by all members of the family. The rules are easy to pick up and it only takes a couple of games to grasp the rules. Uno states that those aged 7 and above should be able to play this game. I would have first played it when I was around 10 and I never had any...

Review of Uno
Advantages: Very addictive gameplay. Great fun for all ages. Disadvantages: Tempting not to stop sometimes.
...As far as card games go, I would have to say that Uno ranks as one of the best, if not the best. It is simple yet addictively enjoyable. Mattel have hit a success with this game. If you don't know the rules, they are easy to pick up, but I shall roughly explain them here.
Each player (between 2 and 4, but I can't see any reason why more than 4 can't play) is dealt 7 random cards. The 108 cards in the pack are characterised by both their colour (red, green, blue and yellow), and their number (0 to 9). The object of the game is to get rid of all of your cards before everyone else. This is done with a base card from the top of the shuffled pack. Let's say for example that the card is a blue 8; the first player to go has to have either a blue card to correspond with the colour, or an 8 card to correspond with the number. Play continues...

Review of Uno Extreme
Advantages: Great game for children and adults. Disadvantages: None
...As a family we have played the traditional Uno card game for years. A couple of Christmas's ago my son who was 9 at the time put Uno Extreme on his Christmas list. I couldn't see the point of buying this as I thought the ordinary game was good enough. His Christmas list however was shown to various family members as usual.
Father Christmas kindly left my son this much wanted game on Christmas morning and Father Christmas was also on the ball enough to leave 3xC batteries as well (he is a clever fellow isn't he?). That afternoon the batteries were put in the bottom compartment which was easy and opened with a screwdriver so little fingers couldn't mess with them. The game is presented with a pack of cards and a red and purple plastic machine with a button on the front. The playing cards are stored inside when not playing and there...

Review of Uno Extreme
Advantages: Keeps attention Disadvantages: I really can't think of any
...I have worked with children for the last few years, and have realised over the time, the one game none of the kids will tire of is Uno.
Uno is a basic card game using the same principle as the game Whot did back in my day. The pack consists of four different colours, red, green, blue and yellow, each containing a number, nought through to nine.
The rules state you play in a clockwise direction and have to match the last persons card with either the same number, or colour as was dealt. The idea of the game is to be the first to get rid of all your cards to be declared the winner. Sounds simple enough doesn't it but it wouldn't be very challenging without a few wild cards thrown in now would it.
First off you have a x2 card. These come in all the colours and if one is laid on the middle pile, the next person to play has to pick up...

Review of Uno
Advantages: Great fun, surprises everytime Disadvantages: small children can also get unlucky games!
...Most people have heard of Uno, the card game where you sit around a pile and put cards down?well even if you haven't, it is your average card game which will get boring after a while. So here comes the Uno Extreme, which will surprise you no matter how many times you play it there's always another twist.
This product is produced by Mattel which is a trustworthy company who have provided many toys for children over the years. This game is no exception as it is enjoyable and fun. They recommend the game for children over the age of seven but it is a simple game which can easily be picked up. I have often played with m y five year old cousin who really enjoys the game and understands the game perfectly.
~~~The box and contents~~~
The box is a reasonable size and fairly light as it only weighs 1.0 kg. The box shows the general...
