Comfortable hotel in the "queen of coves"

...This is a nice, comfortable 4 star hotel. It is very centrally located in the resort of Cala Galdana so if you like to people watch then get a sea view room and watch the world go by. In fact only get a seaview room because the rooms at the rear of the hotel are overlooked by a steep rock strewn cliff which casts a shadow all day. The resort is set in a beautiful cove with a wide cresent-shaped beach. The water as a consequence is very warm and calm. The cove is flanked on each side by cliffs that can be climbed quite easily to get a great view of the resort below. If you carry on in either direction a 40 minute walk will get you to the next coves along this southern coast of the island. The resort is quite small, has plenty of restaurants for all tastes and a very low-key night life. In fact the most popular evening entertainment...

Hotel Cala n Blanes - Cala n Blanes ,FIRST CHOICE

Advantages: MENORCA A LOVELY PLACE TO VISIT
Disadvantages: HOTEL A LITTLE DISSAPOINTING

...checked by the beach staff so you will be warned if they are in the sea. Lots of people got stung but we loved the pool so it didnt spoil our time. 10 min walk to Calan Forcat - small water park, shops and bars. We hired a car and visited several small beaches - Cala Mitjana - hilarious for the kids as there were some nudists there!!! Lots of places for you to just stop on the road take a towel and dive into the sea. All in all we had a great time, the weather was a little cloudy at times and it was VERY windy in the resort but we all got tans and we made some great friendsd. ENTERTAINMENT - Good family fun, archery, shooting, killerpool etc. The grown ups got very competitive and we had lots of fun booing eachother at certificate giving time. Evening shows - some were good the african dancers and mexican show. Magic show was good...

Great location, shame about the food!

...For the last few years our family stayed at the hotel Gavilanes in Cala Galdana, Menorca. However The prices were getting high and we decided to try another 4 star hotel in the area. The Hotel Audax is right opposite the beautiful beach, across a small road. It has 244 rooms over 7 floors with 4 lifts. From the outside it looks lika a typical spanish 4 star hotel. However inside the reception is bright and cheerful with local art pieces dotted about. The first problem I had was at check in at the reception. I had booked two twin rooms on the same floor, but was told that the rooms were three floors apart and one was a double. They did try and make amends and said that they could move us the next day, but as we were only there for a week we decided to stay put. ...If you want a relaxing, stress-free holiday then you should try Cala Galdana. If you are a typical teenager - forget it! Cala Galdana is a small resort about 30 minutes from the main town on the island,Mahon. It is situated on what is generally agreed to be the most beautiful bay in Menorca. The view from the balcony of my hotel room was stunning and I coud step out of the lift practically onto the beach. There are no nightclubs in Cala Galdana and only a few bars and restaurants, so if you're looking for wild nightlife this is not the place for you. I stayed at the Sol Elite Gavilanes and would thoroughly recommend it. The standard of accommodation was excellent as was the food although the evening entertainment was a bit variable. ...Late June 2003. Cala Galdana is an easy 20-30 minutes drive from Mahon airport, when you find your way out of the Airport. Just Head for Ciutadella once you find the traffic island with the large sundial your on your way. As you go up through Ferreries, a small inland town and round a couple of sharp bends, there is a left hand turn that takes you directly to Cala Galdana. You arrive at a traffic island, left and right take you up to the accommodations above the bay, while straight on and down the hill will take you over the river, the beach and to the main commercial area. Most of the accommodation seems to be apartments or villas, which have some very steep climbs; certainly the villa we stayed in was quite a walk (1.2km) from the main shopping and bar areas. ...The hotel Cala n Bosch is situated in the resort of Cala n Bosch which also happens to be the furthest resort that you could possibly get to from Mahon Airport. The hotel itself towers above Cala n Bosch and can be seen as you drive down the main road that comes from Ciutadella approaching the resort. Cala Millor Review

Advantages: Relaxed, bars, restaurants, sandy beach, water sports
Disadvantages: Easily bored after the first week

...Cala Millor is a super resort for a rest on the beach. The sea has a gentle incline and apart from the palm leaf debris regularly washing in, is a great swim for all ages. There is a super little sandwich bar right on the front near the police building on the beach who's home made rolls to order and take away local drinks, etc, make it well worth a visit. There is plenty of flat promenade to walk, bicycle hire is easy. Cala Bona is at the north end of the beach and is worth an evening stroll. The promenade offers a variety of eating oppotunities,it is not difficult to ascertain whom each facility caters for, which was a blessing. Club Cala Romani - We would definitely go back!

Advantages: Hotel staff, all inclusive, close to the beach, nice pools.
Disadvantages: Limited activities in the town, repetitive & oily food sometimes

...My partner and I have been to Club Cala Romani twice now and we would definitely recommend it for a cheap all inclusive holiday! The hotel itself is very nice: very clean & well presented. The rooms are a little basic (but this never bothers us because we don't spend much time in them!) but clean and sufficient. The staff are very friendly and are fantastic if you've got children. The pools are lovely but very, very cold! The drinks are brilliant - made quite strong though at times - they put a LOT of spirits in, which were sometimes too strong for me. The food is fine, but there isn't a lot of variety from day to day and is sometimes cooked in a lot of oil.
