La Cala Hotel

Advantages: Close to the shops
Disadvantages: In the centre of town

...your walking during the day when its very hot and sunny, but when it rains, it really rains,( but we were there in september ) and got soaked trying to get back to the hotel, also the hotel is close to the marina, which has a few bars and a few restaurants, most of which i have been in as i spend most of my holidays in Ibiza, Santa Eulalia is the quiet side of Ibiza, where most of the locals live, as we were told by our rep Sarah, who lives in Ibiza she would prefer to be in Santa Eulalia than San Antonio, as the prices are much cheaper, It costs more for everything on the lively side of the island where the nightclubs are as not many of the locals live there, so when you go to Santa Eulalia you realise just how much more laid back, quiet, and cheap the resort is, I bought a pair of Rayban sunglasses when i was there in...

Barcelo Cala Vinas a scenic place to please us?

Advantages: Immaculate hotel, great entertainment team, lovely location and superb food.
Disadvantages: Remoteish location, lacking room facilities and the damn bingo!

...We had been looking forward to our holiday to Mallorca for such a long time we thought it was never going to arrive. After a hard year full of ups and downs we were more than ready for the break and had built up the trip into something that had to be the perfect getaway. Of course, a vital part of our holiday would be how good the hotel was so it is with some trepidation that we arrived at the Barcelo Cala Vinas on June 14th 2008. Booked through Thomas Cook the Barcelo Cala Vinas is part of a chain. The hotel is situated in the quite and serene area of Cala Vinyes, Calvia. Somewhat off the beaten track, the hotel is situated twenty minutes walk from Magalluf and is just over an hour via coach transfer from Palma airport. Overlooking a beautiful little cove, the hotel is one of few tourist properties in the area with only the Cala...

Calas de Mallorca - a familys point of view

Advantages: Sun, sea sand, nie friendly people, quiet environment, everything is cheap
Disadvantages: It rained for 3 days ; everything was so cheap I had to buy another suitcase to bring everything home!

...I have just returned from a weeks holiday in Calas de Mallorca, with my family including 3 youngsters aged between 7 and 14. As this was the first family holiday for 5 years, and the first time the boys have flown, I wanted it to be special. The travel agent was very helpful finding a holiday within our budget and with plenty for the children. So in June we found ourselves jetting out of Leeds aiport to Palma. The main problem with the outward journey was because it was a night flight, the children were up all day, all the night and cranky for the first day of the holiday. The coach journey between Palma and Calas de Mallorca took just over an hour and a half, with the travel rep complaining all the time that she was tired!!! When we arrived, we were shown to the hotel reception and from there, to our rooms (two adjacent...

Diamond review  SUN, SEA, SANGRIA "SAN ANTONIO BAY IBIZA"

Advantages: A beautiful, clean, friendly, warm and relaxing holiday
Disadvantages: Have to come home afterwards

...?s restaurants, little shops a laundry, kiddies play area and much more, there was a large café on the sea facing side of the Playa Bella, with a large veranda that reached down to the beach, with tables and chairs, that served as a café/restaurant during the day and as a bar for the evening entertainment, of which there certainly was plenty, with children?s entertainment early evening, going on to adult entertainment well into the night usually past 1pm for anyone who wished to stay up that long, ?must admit we did most nights" as the cabarets, comedians, DJ?s rep shows fun and games and karaoke were too good to miss. ~~~~~~~THE REST OF THE BAY~~~~~ Coming out of the other side of our apartment, onto Cala de Bou, led you straight onto the main stretch of road, 1 ½ miles of quaint little shops, also 2 Spar mini supermarkets and a small Co op...

Education, Ibiza style.

Advantages: It's an Education
Disadvantages: I still dont live there

...at me complaining about a mere 80-hour week, but then the coup-de-grasse is the wage. Appropriately named 'basic wage' of a hefty £70 per week, or 88p an hour, are not exactly footballers wages. If you multiply the average working week over a 7 month long Summer Season, I was probably working for a total of about 6 1/2 months. I slept every other Monday. It is because of all this that I know Ibiza so well. And it is in spite of this that I still have great fondness for the Island that still has areas that even I haven't seen yet, notwithstanding the fact that since leaving the island in November 2003, I've been back on 5 separate occasions. If all the White Isle had to offer was San Antonio and 24 Hour parties, I probably would have left after my first week. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of partying - I can party with the best...

Ibiza Hippie by Escada perfume!

Advantages: beautiful light smell!
Disadvantages: Hard to find, and a little expensive!

...Escada Ibiza Hippie I got this perfume in a Collector?s Edition pack of 5 Escada Perfumes; Island kiss, Rockin? Rio, Pacific Paradise, Sunset Heat and Ibiza Hippie. I first heard of Escada when I bought Pacific Paradise on the Ferry on the way to Italy, from then on the smell always reminded me of that holiday, and became one of my favourite perfumes. So when I saw this pack for £12.50 for 5 small bottles (4ml each), I just had to buy them to try them all, so I could choose my favourite one! And I must say they were all delicious! With such strong fruity smells which stuck around all day, my only problem was there wasn?t enough of it in the bottles, and I tended to use half a bottle each time I used it! But it gave me a great experience of using them all so I could choose which ones I wanted in larger bottles rather than...

Great holiday in Hotel Miami, Ibiza

Advantages: Gorgeous beaches, fantastic nightlife, amazing weather, kids clubs are excellent, great weather
Disadvantages: (you don't want to leave!!), food at hotel is not so good.

...I stayed in the Hotel Miami, Ibiza last year with two friends and I enjoyed my experience so much I'm going again next year. Ibiza is the ultimate young people's holiday destination - but this hotel is family friendly aswell - kids clubs are excellent! If you're looking to go abroad this year whatever your age and interests I sincerely recommend Ibiza. The beaches are clean and gorgeous, the sun is warm on your back, the sand is hot on your feet - I LOVE IBIZA!! The nightlife - well, thats just too exciting to put into words! We tried a different club every night and I didn't want to leave any one of them. Some of the drinks were quite expensive in some of them, but the atmospheres in all of them was just immense. You can hear the music pounding around the club and it just brings you completely to life. Honestly, Hotel Miami in...

Ibiza Uncovered.

Advantages: sun, sea, sand, relax or be lively. Reasonably priced holidays.
Disadvantages: none

...but I suppose part of that could be luck. For our first holiday we stayed in Es Cana. We stayed at the hotel Atlantic which at the time was all inclusive but has been totally refurbished and is now a SC hotel but luxury one at that. It was quiet where we were but just a 5-10 min walk and things start to liven up especially at night in the bar called Charlies. There is a tiny harbour filled with fishing boats and regular boats to take you to other islands ie:- Ibiza Town, Santa Eulalia, Cala longa, etc. There are also fabulous views across the sea to distant islands next to a fabulous sandy beach which is supervised by life guards, and a clear blue sea where there is banana boats, and waterski, parasailing and windsurfing . The children can play safely all day and there cheerful places to eat out where the locals are very friendly...

Ibiza Rediscovered .... Puerto San Miguel

Advantages: Relaxed, quiet, beautiful surroudings.
Disadvantages: Captive market in local shops and bars meant high prices - you need a car.

...eyes even back then, and without boring you with the details of my mis-spent youth, I didn?t relish the thought of returning to Ibiza as a middle-aged mother, with husband and, at the time 14-year-old, daughter in tow! ?Middle age is when a broad mind and a narrow waste exchange places? ;o) Before we departed from Manchester, excited but apprehensive, I asked resort staff if we could be placed as far away as possible from San Antonio or Ibiza town centre, and that they most certainly obliged. We duly arrived at the Balanzat Apartments, Puerto de San Miguel at 11pm on a Friday evening in September, loud booming music ? none, people throwing up all over ? none, sex, drugs and wild parties on the beach ? none ? you should have seen the long faces on the young couple who travelled on the same coach from the airport! The porter wanted to...

Cafe Del Ibiza

Advantages: Clubs, Clubs and more Clubs, breathtaking scenery
Disadvantages: Expensive

...quite a lot of activities here for children. My one main gripe about Playa D?en Bossa is that it is extremely close to the airport and you can read the numbers on the planes when they fly overhead. CALA LLONGA Want some peace and quiet then Cala Llonga is probably for you. Situated approximately 10 minutes from Ibiza Town this is probably a resort more suitable for families and non-clubbing couples, or as a retreat away from it all after you have been clubbing for hours. The glorious, deep beach is set in-between two hills and the water is fairly shallow for quite a way out. There are plenty of shops and restaurants to keep you entertained and there is a golf course for you golf lovers about a five minute drive away. SANTA EULALIA Santa Eulalia is another ?peace and quiet? resort. Take a visit to the exclusive marina...
